(OPEN | Mutiny Log) Well it's been so long

Date & Time: Nov. 16 ~0300 through Nov.19th ~0230hrs, 3133
Location: Housing, Cafeteria, VR rooms, hallways etc (read: everywhere)
Characters: YOU!
Summary: Mutiny on the moon base! Vital systems are offline, mutineers are making PA announcements, and there’s conflict and turmoil brewing in the halls. Dun dun duuun!
Warnings: None yet (possible violence?)
Notes: Specify a date and location in your top comment. You may specify multiple dates/locations. A timeline for the plot and the IC PA announcements made during are available HERE.

[In the dead of night - or as close to ‘the dead of night’ as is possible to have in moon base - a small group of transports finally make the move they’ve been planning for weeks. Pre-determined teams, maintaining radio contact throughout, simultaneously take control of the Transporter Room and take multiple systems offline.

One moment things are normal; they next, they’re not. With a last message flagged as ‘maintenance’ left on the network, the network cuts out. A moment later, Transports across the base find themselves losing contact with the ground or shifting in their sleep and gently floating out of their beds from the force as the gravity drops. Lighting flicks over to emergency only: bathing corridors and rooms in a desolate, lonely red. Doors work - and then they don’t. Transports will find themselves confined to housing (and washrooms), the VR rooms, and the cafeteria; it’s plenty of space to be comfortable and largely covers most Transport’s basic needs (unless you’re fond of cheery light or having your feet on the ground in which case you may be out of luck).

Hours later-- Click-HHHSSSHK-click!

A woman’s voice speaks over the moon base’s PA system, echoing through the dark corridors and off the odds and ends gently floating through them thanks to the lack of gravity regulation. The voice is rich and accented, with a certain practiced ease to it - one that sharpens to a point the longer she talks:]

Testing. Testing-- are we good? Christ, I'm not echoing, am I? No?

All right good. Listen up, fellow transports. As you might have noticed, some of the base's general systems have gone offline: this, I assure you, is absolutely intentional. There's no need to panic.

So moving on from the understandably frustrating to the even more frustrating, I'm sure you all have also noticed the fact that we're currently all stuck-- starving and defenseless-- on the bloody moon. In a base that was, up until a few days ago, overrun with zombies. And before that, thousands of lives were bombed right out of existence, and before that, an entire world-- and before that we were all still being thrown at the United Earth for the sake of dying off repeatedly in a war we never stood a chance or had a say in. Transports have been treated like pawns since day one, and I'm sorry, but we don't deserve it.

If we're giving up our lives and our freedom, I'd say it's about time we earned ourselves a little equality.

We deserve a say in what goes on in this fight, and with that in mind, a few of us have decided to hold onto the transporter for a while. Just until the Initiative agrees to treat us like people instead of ammunition. Trust me, we’re not here to hurt anyone; none of this has to end badly. But it does need to end. Things have got to change. And if this is what it takes? This is what it’s going to be.

We need your help; please don’t make it any harder for us.

[The PA clicks off, pitching the base once more into complete radio silence.

Near the end of the first day, gravity regulation is re-established. The network is brought back online the following day, allowing everyone to communicate more freely. Lighting doesn’t come back online until the 18th and the door regulation isn’t normalized or operable until the 19th. Throughout the four days, the mutineers make multiple PA announcements.

In the mean time? Keep your friends close, come to the aid of your neighbors; help with reconnaissance and choose sides - are you neutral in this mess? Are you trying to help bring systems back online and root out the mutineers? Are you sympathetic to the mutiny and trying to sabotage those Transports standing for the Initiative?]

[ She kicks the gun away without a second thought as soon as it drops, doesn't give it a second look as she looks at him carefully, coming to her own conclusions from what he's said. He didn't just turn it off temporarily, or nullify it. He took it, and he can give it back. That's the important part here. She drops her arms from him and moves swiftly to the gun to pick it up and strip it, something she knows to do well enough that it doesn't take her long at all. ] I'm not killing anyone today. [ Methodical as she still watches him, considering. ] How did you know I had anything to take?

[Well, that's... a relief. Jesse stays right where he is against the wall, but he drops his hands to rub tenderly at his wrist while he watches her strip the gun. Sulking like a little boy.

Of course, if she thinks she's getting any answers out of him without a gun to his head, she's got another thing coming. He giggles in response to the question, and as soon as she's done disabling the weapon, he reaches into the pocket of his jacket to hit the panic button. Yeah, he needs reinforcements.]

I don't understand the question. Maybe you oughta ask louder.
motherofnemesis: (neg: please reevaluate these thoughts)

[personal profile] motherofnemesis 2013-11-18 12:13 am (UTC)(link)
[ She's not a big fan of guns, but it's okay. She can be reasonably terrifying on her own, and right now her face just set back into something angry and very, very determined as she moves back towards him. ]

I don't think you actually want me to ask much louder. [ Her voice is quite soft now as she looks to trap him back against the wall. He's not going anywhere until she has answers. ] You wouldn't enjoy it.

[He has no doubt that this is about to hurt. A lot. But it kind of is what he wants, and he laughs again even as she's cornering him. He's getting comfortable against this wall right here.]

I dunno. Maybe I like it rough.

[ There's a flicker of an utterly humorless smile on her face because this spirit is something she recognizes. And she knows how to beat it out of someone, given time. They got it out of her, didn't they? ] Yeah? You think so?

[ She doesn't hit him. Too easy, dulls the senses too much, doesn't get you anywhere really. It's what everyone's looking for, pain that they can see coming. She pins him to the wall with one arm, her other hand going straight for his elbow and the pressure point in it, all those nerves that she knows just how to push. ] I don't think you understand pain.
hostage: (traumatized ☣)

[personal profile] hostage 2013-11-18 12:41 am (UTC)(link)
[He might have preferred a punch, yeah. But telling Jesse Pinkman he doesn't understand pain is laughable - and he does laugh, one more time, before the sound gets caught up in his throat and twists into a whine.

Even so, he goes on goading her:]

Th-That's right. Teach me, baby.

[personal profile] motherofnemesis 2013-11-18 01:10 am (UTC)(link)
[ She hasn't come at this from the other side very often, but it's been necessary a few times. Something about it always makes her feel a little sick no matter how necessary it is, and right now is no exception but she can't let herself care. She just jabs her thumb in harder at his laugh, keeps pushing until that noise shifts. Better. ]

How much do you feel like learning? Because all I want is an answer. [ And until she gets it she's going to let that hand go back to his already sore wrist, dig into the space just between tendon and bone. ]
hostage: (weary ☣)

[personal profile] hostage 2013-11-18 01:17 am (UTC)(link)
[She's not getting an answer, but it's a little hard to keep joking around when she's doing that. Jesse gasps and squeezes his eyes shut so she won't see him tearing up. This is some serious karate bullshit. It feels like his nerves are on fire and it's paralyzing him. Wow, he'd better not actually shit himself.]

[Saul couldn't get there quickly enough once the alarm went off, but there he is. As soon as he realizes what's going on, the weapon he brought with him — a small taser gun — is up and aimed square at Max.

Shit.]

Hands off.
motherofnemesis: (what: that doesn't make sense)

[personal profile] motherofnemesis 2013-11-18 02:56 am (UTC)(link)
[ She hears the voice, doesn't glance around to it because she has to do some very quick calculations. Very, very rapid ones.

The slam of Jesse's head into the wall is calculated, years of experience behind it. Enough to knock him out, not quite hard enough for a concussion. And then she turns to her newest arrival. ]
More people pointing guns. Everyone here is so good at not fucking things up.

[As soon as Jesse drops to the floor, Saul decides he doesn't want to be civil about this.

What he wants to do is shoot her.

This is when all that training will pay off, he hopes; his finger slips to the trigger, and he fires. He's not sure what effect it'll have on her — who the fuck knows what other powers she might have? — but it'll buy him some time, at least.

Maybe.]
motherofnemesis: (so wake up pretty girl)

[personal profile] motherofnemesis 2013-11-18 03:36 am (UTC)(link)
[ To a certain extent she probably should have expected that, really, but nobody said that Max was thinking particularly clearly. She doesn't say anything (kind of hard when you're losing all your muscle control), doesn't appear to have any external reaction to the pain beyond her slow slide downwards to the floor.

It still bothers her more that she couldn't feel Saul coming than that he tasered her, to be honest. ]

[personal profile] 5055034455 2013-11-18 03:48 am (UTC)(link)
[Perfect.

Saul grabs his tablet, poking at it to connect to Roslyn again.]
Roslyn, it's Saul. We've got a situation in one of the hallways — there was a fight, I had to use a taser to take someone down. Can you get over here and bring some backup?

[He keeps his gaze on Max, then hastily adds:] Fast?
boughtabookstore: (low: well this isn't good)

i'm fucking crying how does this even happen

[personal profile] boughtabookstore 2013-11-18 05:03 pm (UTC)(link)
[ There's not really 'backup' going on right now so much as not, but Roslyn shows up within minutes of getting location confirmation, police baton in hand. She could have brought her gun, but she's not looking escalate anything.

Two bodies on the floor, and Roslyn moves immediately to check pulses, Jesse first and then the woman who'd been tased. ]
Jesus, Saul. what happened?
5055034455: 5x01 (let me explain you a thing)

the power of idiots

[personal profile] 5055034455 2013-11-18 05:14 pm (UTC)(link)
I showed up and found her doing some kung fu shit to Jesse, then I guess she panicked when she saw me with this — [He holds up the taser.] So she slammed his head into the wall, and I fired. Something must've gone down.

[And now he's gesturing to the broken-up gun on the floor.]

I can tell you for sure Jesse's not capable of that. If she reacted the way she did to me carrying a taser, I'd bet anything the sight of someone with a gun set her off. [A pause, then:] Looks like the mutineers are panicking.
boughtabookstore: (neutral: don't say that again)

such, such idiots

[personal profile] boughtabookstore 2013-11-18 05:21 pm (UTC)(link)
Something.

[ She glances over towards the gun on the floor, frowns. ] That's military training of some kind, I'd be willing to bet. [ A thoughtful noise, and she goes ahead and takes the precaution of putting handcuffs on Max before pulling up her jacket to reveal the gun tucked into the back of her jeans. ] She had a gun. Why didn't she use it?

[ But they don't have time for questions, right now. She sighs, runs her hands over her face and takes off her own shirt to wrap the pieces of the gun on the floor in, adds Max's and then gestures at Saul. ] Help me move her. We'll take her to the cafeteria and I'll figure out what to do from there.

[Saul doesn't have an answer for that, but the sight of the gun makes him go a little pale. What if she had used it?

He glances over at Jesse, then frowns. Are they just going to leave him?]

Okay, don't — don't be freaked out by this, but I can carry both of them. Jesse needs medical attention, and I'm not going to risk leaving him here for someone else to find. Okay?
boughtabookstore: (Default)

[personal profile] boughtabookstore 2013-11-18 05:29 pm (UTC)(link)
[ A glance up at him in slightly skeptical confusion, but you know what. ]

If you can actually carry both of them I'm not going to be freaked out, I'm going to be very relieved. I was going to radio Ashraf but that's a much better solution.

[ Seriously, she can roll with anything right now that's a bonus. ] Let's go.

[Cue one (1) mock salute before Saul bends and — well, getting them both up and safely in his arms takes a bit of maneuvering, and quite frankly he feels like a really awkward superhero right now with two damsels tossed over his shoulders, but this is just how it goes, he guesses.

He nods for Roslyn to lead the way.]
