(OPEN | Mutiny Log) Well it's been so long

Date & Time: Nov. 16 ~0300 through Nov.19th ~0230hrs, 3133
Location: Housing, Cafeteria, VR rooms, hallways etc (read: everywhere)
Characters: YOU!
Summary: Mutiny on the moon base! Vital systems are offline, mutineers are making PA announcements, and there’s conflict and turmoil brewing in the halls. Dun dun duuun!
Warnings: None yet (possible violence?)
Notes: Specify a date and location in your top comment. You may specify multiple dates/locations. A timeline for the plot and the IC PA announcements made during are available HERE.

[In the dead of night - or as close to ‘the dead of night’ as is possible to have in moon base - a small group of transports finally make the move they’ve been planning for weeks. Pre-determined teams, maintaining radio contact throughout, simultaneously take control of the Transporter Room and take multiple systems offline.

One moment things are normal; they next, they’re not. With a last message flagged as ‘maintenance’ left on the network, the network cuts out. A moment later, Transports across the base find themselves losing contact with the ground or shifting in their sleep and gently floating out of their beds from the force as the gravity drops. Lighting flicks over to emergency only: bathing corridors and rooms in a desolate, lonely red. Doors work - and then they don’t. Transports will find themselves confined to housing (and washrooms), the VR rooms, and the cafeteria; it’s plenty of space to be comfortable and largely covers most Transport’s basic needs (unless you’re fond of cheery light or having your feet on the ground in which case you may be out of luck).

Hours later-- Click-HHHSSSHK-click!

A woman’s voice speaks over the moon base’s PA system, echoing through the dark corridors and off the odds and ends gently floating through them thanks to the lack of gravity regulation. The voice is rich and accented, with a certain practiced ease to it - one that sharpens to a point the longer she talks:]

Testing. Testing-- are we good? Christ, I'm not echoing, am I? No?

All right good. Listen up, fellow transports. As you might have noticed, some of the base's general systems have gone offline: this, I assure you, is absolutely intentional. There's no need to panic.

So moving on from the understandably frustrating to the even more frustrating, I'm sure you all have also noticed the fact that we're currently all stuck-- starving and defenseless-- on the bloody moon. In a base that was, up until a few days ago, overrun with zombies. And before that, thousands of lives were bombed right out of existence, and before that, an entire world-- and before that we were all still being thrown at the United Earth for the sake of dying off repeatedly in a war we never stood a chance or had a say in. Transports have been treated like pawns since day one, and I'm sorry, but we don't deserve it.

If we're giving up our lives and our freedom, I'd say it's about time we earned ourselves a little equality.

We deserve a say in what goes on in this fight, and with that in mind, a few of us have decided to hold onto the transporter for a while. Just until the Initiative agrees to treat us like people instead of ammunition. Trust me, we’re not here to hurt anyone; none of this has to end badly. But it does need to end. Things have got to change. And if this is what it takes? This is what it’s going to be.

We need your help; please don’t make it any harder for us.

[The PA clicks off, pitching the base once more into complete radio silence.

Near the end of the first day, gravity regulation is re-established. The network is brought back online the following day, allowing everyone to communicate more freely. Lighting doesn’t come back online until the 18th and the door regulation isn’t normalized or operable until the 19th. Throughout the four days, the mutineers make multiple PA announcements.

In the mean time? Keep your friends close, come to the aid of your neighbors; help with reconnaissance and choose sides - are you neutral in this mess? Are you trying to help bring systems back online and root out the mutineers? Are you sympathetic to the mutiny and trying to sabotage those Transports standing for the Initiative?]

[The only reason Kang has agreed to help babysit is because he likes Anne, and he can communicate with his informants at the same time, traveling through the vents. When he isn't assisting with stopping the mutiny, he's trying his best to keep Bobby entertained, allowing the boy to play with what toys he already has as well as the worn ones that belong to his own children, or telling him stories from his world.

Slowly, he's winning Bobby over.

Anne or her roommates may come back when the youngling is asleep, Kang watching him from his makeshift bed on the floor, or when both are asleep, the draconian stretched out on his stomach with his wings slightly sprawled.

Another time, he's not only telling a story, but demonstrating it, with the cloth dolls. He's hung the copper dragon underneath the top bunk of one of the beds with string, and he's moving the minotaur so that its horns go directly into the dragon's chest.
]

The copper dragon fell instantly, taking its elven rider with it, and any chance the Golden General's armies had of winning the battle. We thought we had gotten rid of the minotaur as well, but we were wrong.

[ When Anne returns to find both of them asleep, Anne can't help and has no reason to restrain her grin of amusement, given there is no one else to see. She does have to hold back a chuckle for fear of waking them, though, and finds herself trying to step awkwardly so that she doesn't trip over a stray wing. Se doesn't want to abuse super powers just for this, but she doesn't want to wake Bobby or poor Kang, either. She can only imagine he tires of these favors. ]

[She wouldn't be the first to find his sleeping habits amusing. His mate likes to poke fun at him for his wings taking up so much space.

And, for his snoring. Sorry, Anne.

He shifts slightly, snorting softly and mumbling something in Nerakese when her foot brushes against a wingtip.

[ At least the snoring might subdue the sound of her steps, but then he moves and it's only when his wing catches her skirt and begins to make her stumble that she remembers and activates the intangibility Jesse had given her. It might still be enough to awaken him, but at least it didn't end with Anne falling all over herself.
'
She quickly rushes over to the other bunk and freezes, waiting to see if any awaken. How's she supposed to get sleep under this stress? ]

[It is just barely enough to wake him, though he doesn't open his eyes for a few seconds, until he realizes he's not at home and it's not one of his children trying to crawl in bed with him. It's dark, but he can see perfectly fine as he quietly pushes himself up on to his elbows and pulls his wings in.]

Do you have any news, Miss Boleyn?

[He speaks in a hushed voice, to not wake the boy.]

[ Seeing him stir, Anne at least has the decency to look guilty, and she does feel it, too. It's strange to be indebted to a man-beast, but he's honestly more diplomatic than many humans she has come across. But even if his world is strange, his manners seem more aligned. Or maybe she's just a special case, she won't mind that, either. ]

I am afraid not. The light remain dim, and it seems the entrances are still unreliable, but the door to this room seems to be working at the moment should you like to leave and return to your own quarters.

Until the situation is more stable, I'll be fine here.

[He teases, gently:]

Has my company become undesirable?

[ While he talks she lights a candle; she had brought them with her in the first place, but especially now they are the most useful! It's better but still dim lighting, keeping it at the center of the small table before she sits on the edge of her bed and reaches for a trunk. Bobby has seen to take the top bunk, since it wouldn't be seemly for her to (and boys like to be high up, anyhow). ]

Not at all, Lord Governor, but surely you must wish for proper rest.

[ She sure does, but she doubts she'll get much sleep, anyway. ]

I hope he has been well behaved.

[He shakes his head.]

No matter the room, proper sleep would still elude me. There are no beds here that can hold me.

[Glancing up at the boy, he nods and smiles.]

He has. And, I think he's warmed up to me.

It takes some practice. Just give him time.

[He certainly didn't know what the hell he was doing when he found himself with twenty younglings to take care of.]

I think it is for my dress, and mayhap my word. He cannot see past it; he only sees what he has never had. But I would give him all the finery and education, if only he would accept it.
governorkang: (Neutral)

If that is the case, he may want to earn it somehow, rather than have it be given to him.

To earn it he only need be kind to me.

[He sits up and puts his back to the wall, tail settling around his legs.]

People that come from situations like his have a different way of looking at things. They can see it as pity, and many don't like given something for nothing. They don't want to be seen as a 'charity case', or as weak for needing help.

[ Whateverrr, this all sounds like a stupid excuse to her, and she's not sure if it applies to Bobby or not. Well she won't let the stress distract her from the needlework she's now taken up to pass the time. Christmas gifts take a lot of effort, after all. ]

Has he told you of this?

[ Anne shrugs, her voice dropping to even more of a whisper as she glances at Bobby to be sure he's asleep. ]

I did my good Christian duty, but I must admit...I find it difficult to find anything in relation to him. I wish no harm to come to him, and would do what I must for his protection, but I know not how to handle him in otherwise. I feel my kindness forced, as he is not my son, and worry for what sort of poor woman that makes me. Master Pinkman seems to love him for true.

[He is fast asleep in that way only children can be.]

You've only known the boy for two months. Even if it turns out you have nothing in common, that still doesn't make you a bad parent. And, this is the first you've done such a thing, isn't it? There is always a learning curve.

This is not what I planned.
