Summary: White collar crime with a vampire, egads! A snake and an undead--let's see how this turns out.
Warnings: Probably Kanaya being sassy as Kano acts like an idiot.

[It's good to be back in Japan again. Although he's a bit nervous, Kano's otherwise feeling positive about this mission. They didn't need a break--what they needed was something to occupy their attention, something to accomplish, to make them feel like they were succeeding at something for once instead of throwing whatever they had at a wall to see if it'd crack.

He hasn't worked with Kanaya before. But he's certain that this mission will be a success. Compared to the ones they did back home... this isn't too bad, right?

Kano breathes in deeply then throws open his arms as if introducing the great building in front of them.]

So, so... is this the place? It looks pretty easy to me, that's a disappointment.

[Ah. At that, he rubs the back of his neck. He's a little abashed by that, not that he's going to show it.] Well, well, it's way too early to say~ I'm lucky that a super cute girl like that is willing to take me in! But, you know, she's never noticed any of her admirers. I don't think she was aware of aaall of her options.

Early? [She makes no attempt to hide the sass in her voice; the suggestion is that she thought they were earth human married since practically before they met.] That's what happens when you have a little discretion. There are advantages and disadvantages to that.

[Ding! The elevator doors slide open. Kano steps out, leading the way.] It's more like she's never hung out with other guys. Ehh, now that I think about it, Seto and I hogged her a lot.

The frog expert? Is it true that he's around now? I've really got to introduce myself some time.

[With that she disappears behind "her" own desk.]

I'll hook you two up after the mission~!

[That said, he waves and heads off to his own desk.

The mission isn't too hard. He even chats with a few coworkers, teasing some and chattering them up during breaks to listen in on any helpful information. Once the workday's off, Kano swings by Kanaya's desk, leaning over.]

Are you done, miss?

[Not long after her computer shut down! She flashes a smile up at her coworker that manages to be unnerving even for holographic lack of fangs. She's proud of how well they could partition the work with two pairs of hands, though the thought of the Dan members she still doesn't know has been itching a little at the back of her mind.] It so happens I am! Would you like to take the long-distance ground vehicle home together?

[What a great smile. Kano meets it with a slow wink.]

Are you asking me to take you home? Oh my, oh my~ Miss Kanaya is so forward!

[speakveryclearly]

[She stands up, rolling her eyes fondly.] Are you saying you're not the kind of lady to do a favor for a friend? [The second time she's indirectly used this word for their relationship;I once again it doesn't feel inaccurate.]

[duplicitoussight]

Not at all, not at all! I'm the perfect gentlewoman. [With that said, he steps back and gives her a mock curtsey.] Please, follow me.

[She pushes in he chair and falls into step beside him.] By all means, my lady, lead the way.

[duplicitoussight]

[Kano heads out, leading the way to the train station. It isn't too far from their destination. As they're walking, he hums an idle tune, something from an anime it sounds like?]

Would you like to make any stops to try the local cuisine?

[speakveryclearly]

[She shrugs, then nods.]

I'd be lying if I implied what I've seen of Japanese food hasn't been pleasing to the eyes and not just the mortal mouth.

[duplicitoussight]

Mortal mouth-- right, right, that's because you're a vampire, aren't you~? Eh, doesn't being a vampire excuse you from eating mortal food? Can you even eat something like sushi?

[speakveryclearly]

I don't know for sure... [She lowers her voice a tiny bit to avoid being overheard by passers-by, and her head tucks slightly for a similar reason.]

The last time I even tried to eat anything was - in the holding facility, so that's not really the same situation. [Kano may have trouble determining whether her rather lost facial expression is because of this or her confusion over what exactly sushi is.]

It definitely isn't. [He responds promptly, without a change in his tone or expression.] For one, the food around here tastes way better! You have my guarantee. Anyway, now's a good tme to try, don't you think?

That is a sound argument if I have ever heard one. Alright. Let's try this Sue She.

...No, I have absolutely no idea. [Somewhere between "I'm game anyway" and "I'm not sure I'll come out of this with my sanity intact"]

Ehh, that's a shame! Nobody's taken the time to educate you? It's delicious art, that's what it is!

What's sushi made of, anyway? Dogs?

[He actually makes a face at that.] Where'd you get that? Poor Kanaya's been misinformed! There's no way you can fit something like that on a delicate roll of rice!

It's not technically misinformation if you're working from no information at all.

Well, sushi's fish with some sauce, plain and simple. It's much better than canines, trust me.

It doesn't sound so bad by that description. And it's a pretty core type of dish?

Now I wonder how many of the restaurants we've passed offer that. [Can't read all these candies!!]

[He waves a hand!] Don't worry about it, Kanaya~ I'll willingly be your special tour guide! I'll show you things that no other guy would show you, feed you all the best dishes in Japan~!
