cuz though the truth may vary...
Date & Time: Forward dated to the 15th, evening
Location: Koltira's lake
Characters: Koltira & Ashraf
Summary: so a priest and a zombie start drinking together...
Warnings: PROBABLY NOT
[ Ashraf warps himself to the lake within five minutes of ending the call with Koltira, a bottle of scotch in one hand and two glasses in the other. He doesn't intend to drink very much, but... enough to relax. It's been a trying week and a half— nearly two weeks, really.
Just thinking of it makes him sigh. He starts toward the skeleton of the half-constructed cabin at the side of the lake, glancing around for Koltira. For once, he's moving at normal speeds, without his almost constant spell of agility. ]

Even if I had forced your hand? You didn't know me from the next man, then.
[ It all seems so much less serious in retrospect and through the haze of drink. Matters of life and death? Whatever. ]

[glances at his supply. Man, he's actually starting to run low, over here. Sighing.]
Besides which, I would have done it outside of my own power. If I am going to kill someone--if I am going to do anything, I want it to be my decision.
[that's the most important thing, that's what he struggles for most of all--the strength to be his own person, and make choices that he can say, with certainty, are his own.]

Well, then it is a very good thing for both of us that you did not. If you will forgive my saying, perhaps slightly the better for me.

He eyes shift away, towards some point in the middle distance.]
Perhaps that's enough for you. I would not want you to become ill.

At this rate, you won't even make it back to your warp.

[ Kidding, kidding. ...Mostly. ]

In that case, it might be wise for you to return, before the situation becomes too dire.

Are you looking to hurry your guest away? [ Because man, sloshed as he is, he'll still respect the crap out of hospitality rules. ]
no subject
No. I like to have you with me. [but you shouldn't be here, nevertheless.]

Then I believe I have a few hours still left in me.
no subject
As you like.

I'm beginning to feel somewhat self-conscious. [ Is he really going to have to be the only one that gets drunk here... ]

Then you must promise not to remind me of anything I say or do tonight, tomorrow.

So you won't mind if I cast it again?

I might start thinking you don't like the sound of my voice.

I like it well enough, unearthly echo and all.

[Koltira finds a mostly untapped bottle and starts in on it. This is an undeniably pleasant time; he likes Ashraf, and he feels about as calm as he's able to be, especially given all the recent events. Even so, he can't stave off the feeling that it's all wrong; that he's not meant to have this.
He glances back at Ashraf.]
Just try not to pass out.

[ He eyes the remains of his drink for a few seconds, then glances out to the lake, and finally over to Koltira's drink, to gauge the portability of it. Suddenly, simply sitting has lost its appeal. ]
Would you like to take a walk with me?
