Two Teen Demi-Gods what could POSSIBLY go wrong?
Date & Time: March 1; afternoon
Location: a few blocks from the apartments
Characters: Leo Valdez
morsecodes & Jason Grace
notthatjason
Summary: Jason decides to implement plan "find out about the masked chip guys", Leo follows his fearless leader, and it all goes down hill from there. :|
Warnings: Action and possible injuries and blood?
Jason found it difficult to sit still. He realized this was going to be difficult but he had greatly underestimated just how many of these guys there were. He stayed pressed against the wall of the building, his hand resting on the sword at his hip and waiting. This was absurd. Just how many of these masked guys were there? He had thought a simple reconnaissance mission would be easy to pull off, even with a talkative person like Leo, but he was wrong. He had underestimated their numbers and abilities and now it was taking all of his skill and Leo's to just go unseen and get back unchipped.
It would have been easier if he had left Leo back at the apartment, but he knew if anyone could figure out this impossible tech it would be Hephaestus's son. Plus, if Leo found out Jason had gone off on a mission without him he would have been pretty ticked. Jason needed Leo, though now he was wondering if either of them would make it back without a chip as a parting gift.
"Okay. The patrol is moving. We should be able to make it to the next building if we move in the next ten seconds."

"Okay. The patrol is moving. We should be able to make it to the next building if we move in the next ten seconds."

As swiftly as possible he sheathed his sword and grabbed Leo. This wasn't exactly going to be comfortable for either of them but, well, desperate times. With a command the Masked were left to gape on the ground as a burst of air caught under Jason and Leo and shot them up several stories.
Jason couldn't really control the jump and gravity was going to take control very quickly. He used one last gust of air to push them from hovering over the alley to landing on the nearby buildings roof and then let go. It wasn't the most graceful of landings on a building. But they were out of reach for the moment. "I doubt a few stairs will stop them," Jason said as he moved away from his close proximity to Leo. "We need to get out of here." Nope, he wasn't at all phased by the fact he'd just leaped up a building "in a single bound" carrying his best friend along for the ride.

When they were safely on the roof, though, Leo stumbled away from Jason, glad to have his feet back on something solid. Yeah, Festus flew, but being in the air on a dragon compared to clinging to his best friend? The dragon was a lot less awkward.
"Yeah, no. What do you say we ditch these guys and get back to our room?"
no subject
Jason nodded at Leo's question. "I'd say that's a good idea."
He didn't like that they hadn't learned much of anything new or useful. The mission had essentially been a bust, but, well, they had tried and they had escaped without a chip in either of them. Jason turned away from the ledge of the building and started making his way to the other side. He looked between this building and the next, "Okay, we should probably go a few buildings over before heading down again. The buildings are pretty close together."
Jason took a few steps back and then ran, making a lunging jump and landing on the next building over. He turned back around for Leo, he hadn't had to use his wind powers so, hopefully, Leo wouldn't need help.

"After you?" He follows Jason, but at the edge of the roof, he pauses, looking from his side to where Jason had landed.
"Man, you better be glad heights don't scare me like my sibs." He took a few steps back, then ran forward, clearing the leap with no trouble. Only problem was he started to slip backwards because of the slope. In a panic, he summoned flames at his feet to push him forward, giving him enough momentum to get higher up and stay there.

He opened the door slowly, keeping an eye out for Masked. When he saw nothing he motioned for Leo before slipping down into the top floor of the building.

"So, Superman, how do we get out of this joint now?"
no subject
He wasn't going to comment on the Superman thing. He had said it in jest and as a way to alert Leo to what he was doing WITHOUT saying 'Hey I'm gonna fly us out of here' since that would have tipped off the enemy.
"The coast is clear. Come on." He slipped out from the alcove they were in and started heading down the hall. It seemed the building they were in was a non-descript office building with cubicles and the like. Jason walked like he had a purpose and WASN'T sneaking around.

He followed Jason, copying him and acting like he wasn't out of place, which....well, it wasn't hard for him to act it, it was just looking like be belonged there that wasn't easy. He was not only wearing his tool belt, but he was covered in oil and burnt markings. Definitely not the typical office setting attire.

Finally at the ground floor, Jason lingered in the stair well, peeking out into the main lobby to see if anyone was about. The training facility wasn't too far from here and from there they could get back to their Unit. Unfortunately there appeared to be a problem at the front door.
More Masked.
Jason swore in Latin AND Greek (which he had been picking up at Camp) and looked back to Leo, "Exit's blocked. We need to find another door out of here."
no subject
"Holy mother-- How the heck are we supposed to get out, then?" But he was scanning the area already, trying to find something. It was then that he spotted a red pull box on the wall. A grin appeared on his face, and he nudged Jason, before causally making his way to the wall and leaning against it.
The fire alarm was right there. If they set it off, maybe it'd set off a mass exodus and they could slip out among the workers and go unnoticed. And if they needed a real fire? Well, he had that covered.
no subject
He glanced back out at the Masked and then moved to stand near Leo, mouthing the words "Do it."
As soon as the alarm started blaring they would let some people pass them and then head out themselves.
no subject
Naturally the smoke kept rising, so by the time he actually pulled the alarm, people had started to notice the smoke.
So the alarm pulled? Chaos ensued. Leo couldn't help but laugh at the chaos. It was really great, watching people freak out and panic, rushing towards the doors. Just another great prank, Leo-style.

Jason didn't relax until he was passed a good deal of the Masked.
no subject
Of course, he took to the shadows, keeping hidden.
The only problem was once he got back to the unit, there were Masked guarding the entrance of it. Naturally. So he hid near by, hoping to see a sign of Jason soon.

He sighed and made his way over to Leo, as quiet as he could manage. "Any ideas or should we just rush them with a little lightning and fire?"
no subject
"Well, that didn't exactly work last time. We gotta distract them, or something." He pause, tapping his chin with his finger, his other hand twitching. Even focused like this, he had to keep his hands busy.
There had to be a way to get these guys to walk away, at least for a little bit.
no subject
"They probably have other entrances guarded or watched as well. The fire distraction seemed to work...maybe if we blew something up..."
no subject
"Jason, my friend, you are only lucky guy, because blowing things up is becoming a specialty of mine." Once upon a time, he used to be afraid to use his fire, but when he stopped fighting it and began using it as a tool for good, well...it was awesome.
"Okay, ideas. Gas lines need to be avoided. Don't want anything too bad, so that leaves cars or something I whip up fast. Thoughts?"
no subject
"There. Around the corner." He pointed and, sure enough, there was a lone vehicle. It wasn't parked near any buildings and would likely not injure any passer-bys if Leo timed it right.
no subject
So with a grin, he slips away from their hiding spot and over to the car, carefully eying the Masked men, making sure they weren't looking his way. Once at the car, he pulled out some tools from his toolbelt, and got to work. He'd have to loose some things, and maybe draw out some fuel. Nothing too hard.
Once he was satisfied, he pulled out another bottle of oil, pouring some on the ground as he snuck back to where Jason waited.
"Ready, dude?"
no subject
"Ready." Jason gripped his sword...just in case he would need it if this distraction didn't work.
no subject
The explosion was exactly as planned. Leo had ducked, pulling Jason down as well, as it happened, and the Masked were certainly curious. It was all a game of waiting and timing the sneaking right. Once the Masked were around the truck, Leo crept from his spot, rather silent. He waved for Jason to come on, continuing his way, hoping they'd make it inside in time.

As soon as they were across the threshold Jason breathed. "Up the stairs and we're home free. Go!" He wasn't sure the last time he moved so fast but he was back in their Unit before he knew it and breathing a sigh of relief.
no subject
Then? Then he navigated around the mess he had made, collapsing into the closest chair.
"Dude--- dude. Can we just not leave ever again? I don't like those guys."
no subject
"I just hope they leave eventually."
no subject
But he supposed even he had to leave some time or another. He'd be content in the room as long as necessary, because he had things to do, but it would be nice to leave when he wanted. Hopefully....hopefully those guys would get lost soon.
