EVENT: HERE THERE BE MONSTERS

Summary: The Transports return from their mission to find the island crawling with monsters.
Warnings: Violence, possibly injuries (notify a mod if there's cause to add a particular warning!)

The Transports return from their mission to Medieval Russia, but the Initiative Hold is eerily deserted. Normally, their would be a number of Initiative personnel prepared to meet the Transports at the end of their mission for debriefing.

Instead, there is only silence.

That is, until a distant thumping sound can be heard. It is growing closer, and suddenly the beast is bursting into the room. It lets out a roar and charges. Within minutes, it is easily defeated, but damage has already been done -- it collided with the Transporter machine, which is now making a low fizzling sound and lets off a couple sparks. The commotion is enough to draw the attention of the few remaining Initiative personnel who still inhabit the Hold, who arrive immediately afterwards. They are able to tell the Transports two things: that the machine is broken and currently unable to sent anyone back in time, and that the island has been overrun with aggressive, mutated beasts sent by the United Earth. They have been under siege for months, with the island's population reduced to a mere fraction of what it had once been.

With his departure she raised higher into the air and prepared the first spell card she would use in this other world. She started to draw in the energy of the area, to assist in the spell, when she had what she wanted she spoke.

"Lie: Tongue of Wolf," and with nothing more than those words a flurry of blue orbs surrounded her in a burst. They came in waves, in between each one she would then direct a stream of red orbs at a particular target, but generally the large outburst took care of a lot of the surrounding creatures.

The spell however was not a physical one, it caused spiritual damage and for the most part knocked out the creatures rather than out right killing them, though it did overwhelm quite a few of the weaker end monsters to a point where they would never wake up again.

And that, once more, looked remarkably like kidou, albeit with much more power behind it than he had ever felt. But in turn, this simplified his own actions.

He flash stepped between the beasts, cutting down the ones that evaded the orbs, and put in some of his own spells on the remaining ones.

"Hadou no gojuuyon. Haien."

His speed allowed him to evade her own attack quite easily and while she took care of the bigger numbers, he could finish off the job.

Though this spell card had no time limit for output, she didn't continue it for too long. It did most of what was required of it quickly anyway. With the majority taken care of she waited to see if other creatures would fill in, or if there was another concentration nearby.

He kept on flash stepping, flitting between beasts and finishing off the remaining, smaller ones only with his sword.

When the area was clear, he stopped as well, watching out to see if more were incoming.

"I'm wondering if erecting a kekkai wouldn't be a better option," she had an uneasy feeling, but couldn't quite place it. It was hard to determine what could happen. What if a large surge of monsters overwhelmed the all? Some of the creatures were far too large to be reasonable.

"Can you make a kekkai on your own?"

He himself had the knowledge, but not necessarily the power to actually maintain one on his own for an extended period of time. That was what the Special Corps were for.

But if she could do it, then it would probably help.

"I am capable, yes."

It wouldn't be hard at all, the only reason she had not opted to it from the start was she wanted to keep her involvement low, to create such a thing would have made her participation much higher.

"Should I exit the area?"

From what he remembered of the Kidou Corps techniques, you did not want to get blocked inside one of their kekkais, unless the purpose was to keep you in for some reason.

"That would be unnecessary, but the best place to do such a thing would be where there are people. It could keep out those with malicious intentions. So being within it's borders would be best," it was rare for her to make them, but it was also rare for her to be involved in anything that would require one. But it was purely for protection and the most it would do is create a wall to keep out that which would hurt someone.

"How wide of an area can you cover with it?"

If it was wide enough, all the have to do was have her stand at the center of the safe zone.

It might not stop the bigger monsters, but it would be a big help already to keep the smaller ones out.

"Quite a bit, I could definitely cover the safe zone," which was her intention.

"In that case, I should leave you to it and make sure none of the beasts enter the zone while you cast it."
