EVENT: HERE THERE BE MONSTERS

Summary: The Transports return from their mission to find the island crawling with monsters.
Warnings: Violence, possibly injuries (notify a mod if there's cause to add a particular warning!)

The Transports return from their mission to Medieval Russia, but the Initiative Hold is eerily deserted. Normally, their would be a number of Initiative personnel prepared to meet the Transports at the end of their mission for debriefing.

Instead, there is only silence.

That is, until a distant thumping sound can be heard. It is growing closer, and suddenly the beast is bursting into the room. It lets out a roar and charges. Within minutes, it is easily defeated, but damage has already been done -- it collided with the Transporter machine, which is now making a low fizzling sound and lets off a couple sparks. The commotion is enough to draw the attention of the few remaining Initiative personnel who still inhabit the Hold, who arrive immediately afterwards. They are able to tell the Transports two things: that the machine is broken and currently unable to sent anyone back in time, and that the island has been overrun with aggressive, mutated beasts sent by the United Earth. They have been under siege for months, with the island's population reduced to a mere fraction of what it had once been.

[ Adam isn't sure if he'll let Samus use his shower this time. His apartment might end up smelling anyway.

And this is a pretty terrible smell, Jesus Christ. Good thing he was hiding or he might be covered in worm goo now. He's almost more concerned about that than he is for her, even after that explosion, because something tells him she's alright and there's no need to worry.

Might wanna check if that worm is really dead, though. You never know. ]

... Did you really have to make a mess like that?

[ BITCHING. Surely a rocket to the mouth would have also done the trick! Gross. ]

[She takes a moment to flick off some of the offending slime before slowly approaching him, it being the worst of her troubles now.]

Yes. I did.

[She gives one of the more whole looking pieces of the tentacle a good kick for measure, it giving no reaction of any sort.]

I was being thorough.

[And for her sake, she really hopes that was thorough enough. Power bombs were limited in supply.]

I didn't just get swallowed by a giant worm, nor was I at the center of an explosion.

[ Yeah, that's his answer. And considering he isn't even covered in moster slime, yeah, he's pretty alright, if a little low on energy. ]

It's probably best to head back. Are you planning on staying here and getting swallowed by more mutant animals?

I'll stay on patrol.

[And find a water source not completely tainted by blood or mud to kind of wash off in. Samus do you ever stop...]

[ ... sigh. Siiigh also crossing arms there's really no point in arguing with her, she'll do what she want anyway. ]

[She doesn't uncross her arms but her posture seems to relax minimally, perhaps if smirking under that helmet.]
