(closed) so the nice thing is you get free housing and the digs are pretty sweet
Date & Time: Sometime the last week of October, in the morning.
Location: Unit 108
Characters: Roslyn Small, Scathach, and Mia Fey.
Summary: So a lawyer, an immortal vampire, and mf**king Roslyn Small walk into an apartment and...
Warnings: Will be added as necessary.
( Mia turned the key in the lock, coming into Apartment 108 with a headache and a decent pair of pants. One of the two she considered an achievement.
Mostly the pants. )
Hello?
( She calls out at a reasonable speaking volume, aware that anything more could be waking someone asleep. It feels more polite to announce her presence as she comes into the entrance-way, robe draped over her arm and her head full of confusions of time and personalities.
She's glad for small comforts, but when one of those comforts is the fact a prosecutor is still a pompous ass and another is that her boyfriend-gone-coma will wake up five years in the future still suffering severe damage in the wake of his poisoning by the woman she'd just sent behind bars, she's not sure if comfort's even the right word.
Maya is the good part, and even that ties in to worries Mia knows her sister likely shares. And such an emotional reunion! It must have been incredibly hard on Maya these last few months... )

I'm in here.
[ It's quiet and even, and she finishes taping the new bandage and stands to drop the old one in the trash. ]
no subject
Me too. [She offers a close-lipped smile, not quite apologetic but almost, almost there. "Sorry for not saying hello earlier, I guess" is the intended message.]

Great. Saves out on trying to figure out who's supposed to be living here some of the time and who isn't.
( It's a light -- and failing -- attempt at humor. She walks toward the kitchen, sadly aware of her less than pristine looking ducky slippers that she held on to with her bathrobe laden arm. She'd need to invest in a pair of flip flops. Walking barefoot to avoid having soaked slippers was just giving her dirty feet.
Not sure of who to address first, she looks from the red haired woman back to the dark haired one who had spoken first. What does she even say? Starting with an introduction is a good idea. )
My name's Mia Fey, junior associate of Grossberg Law Offices in L.A.
( ... Smooth. )
Not that I suppose it matters while we're here in Exsilium.

Roslyn Small, formerly an FBI Agent.
[ A beat. ]
Not that it matters while we're here.

But she smiles anyway, close-lipped, raising one small hand in a wave. She doesn't look much older than seventeen, and knows that things might get complicated quickly.]
Mia, Roslyn. Hello. I'm Scathach, but you can just call me Scatty.
no subject
Also the only one not opting to introduce herself with a profession, which made sense, considering her appearance. Mia decides it's worth asking, feeling a stirring of sympathy and identification with her own sister, right about Scathach's age. )
It's as good as it can be to meet you both. If you don't mind my asking, Scatty, are you still in school?
( No comment on what Roslyn had been throwing away. Former FBI, injured, in a city openly under siege by -- animals? Even without the added absurdities, injuries were doubtlessly common. She seems to be moving well enough for now. )
no subject
Not that it particularly matters, so long as they can both look out for themselves. ]
You'll get used to it here.
[ But she does throw a glance at Scathach to back up Mia's question. More teenagers being dragged in to fight someone else's war. It's her main sticking point with the Initiative. ]
no subject
I'm not. I haven't been a student in a while.
[Good job, now they'll just think she's a drop-out. Oh well.]
no subject
Guess that means you won't have to worry about missing any schoolwork. Or celebrate, either way.
( She smiles, considering both women she lived with. A young girl out of school, and a former agent.
Life would be... exciting, that much was apparent. )
Have either of you been here for long?
no subject
I've been here since the beginning. Since you're both new to this room, I assume you both just came in.
[ That's how room assignments have gone so far, at least. ]
no subject
No, I just got here. [Literally today.]

( She steps back out of the way, leaving the kitchen to Roslyn to use. She glances toward Scatty again, offering another small, distracted smile, arms crossing over her chest. Partly in a movement of self comfort, partly as she considers what she's learning. )

Almost nine months now. We go on occasional missions, we help them, they've promised to send us home at some point. We have no real reason to believe that promise, but people do vanish from time to time. They've possibly gone home. We don't know.
no subject
And you've gone along with it for the past nine months?
no subject
( Mia frowns, considering this troubling information. Scatty's question directs her gaze to the presumed teen. )
Has the Initiative used persuasive force during that time?
no subject
I'm making soup, should I make enough for three?
[ And then calmly. ] Many people have tried other methods of going home. None of them have worked.

[Followed by:]
Do you know who has been here the longest?
