[to be fair, Martin's not had a grand track record where keeping in touch is concerned. but still...he's a changed thing, isn't he? from thing to person, if he kept his Darkov thinking. and this person has friends. and when a friend isn't responding or around...he's got to look, right?
Martin's meandering around, trying to think up places she could be. the apartments yielded nothing, nor the market...so to training room, to the perimeter...maybe the city? as far as he can go without causing his contract concern.
now and then, suspecting a shape within earshot:] ...Chloe?

it takes a second to situate himself, a hand mindlessly going up to his head, ruffling bangs out of his line of sight to look up. he gets an almost blank, curious stare after a couple blinks, taking in the odd aspects of this person into account. there's a lot of strangeness in Exsilium, but Martin isn't able to write it all off so readily, it seems.
but he stops at the smile, still for a beat before reanimating, smiling back in turn, giving a breathy bit of laugh in his exhale and reply:]
It's alright, I didn't see, either. It's alright. [nodding as he lets his hand drop to his face, dragging the back of it across his cheek as he feels a little heat building, feeling silly. he's slow to catch the rest of that, but–]
Oh...yes. I am. [it gets him glancing about again, just because.] I'm looking for Chloe...
