( open ) our ag wing's back and you're gonna be in trouble (hey now! hey now! our ag wing's back)

Date & Time: October 31st, 3313, 11:59PM - November 3rd, 3313, ????
Location: Agriculture Wing, Moon Base to start. Cafeteria, warehouse, docking bay, VR rooms, Transport Pad, or Observatory later on.
Characters: Any & all!
Summary: Space Zombies are allowed out of the Agriculture Wing, slowly revving up their systems to try and infect and absorb as many of the Transports (or 12 Initiative Members) as possible.
Warnings: Log will be locked for potentially graphic violence. Please warn in threads should the violence or gore become graphic.
Notes: Specify a date and location in your top comment. You may specify multiple dates/locations. Specify a time if you wish as well.

Everything is a success at first, from the cool rush of air out of the Agriculture Wing once the doors are fully unlocked, to the heady sense of accomplishment for finally moving forward on something good for the long-term usability of the Moon Base. It's intended to remain a resource, after all, but not be a permanent home. Fraying tempers and the sense of cabin fever descending on Transports continues to showcase how important it is to get back down on Earth to regain some breathing room.

There's little enough dust between all the unmoving, unlit structures, many even supporting the barest dried husks of what once grew there. Upon the lightest touch, they disintegrate, turning into a dust that falls to the ground. The silent rows will be reclaimed and turned into functioning units, based on Transport efforts, and Transport time invested in the project.

There's just one problem. Something stirs in the reclaimed wing, among tangles of hosing and wiring. Skitterings and movements that make no sense for a long abandoned Moon Base. The further in Transports go, relying on magic or technology to generate light past the bare minimum maintained by the base, the more disturbing sights they may run into.

Of course, the most disturbing of all might be lying just around the far corner -- but don't worry, it's only a flesh wound. Try not to get surprised in the machinery, caught suffering from not looking up or caught making out with anything unsavory this holiday season, Transports. We need all of you to stay alive!

We can't bring you back right now!

b, hope this isnt too late!

[Even Lucifer found himself having to deal with the undead, who were unresponsive to any attempt he made at trying to force them(magically or otherwise) into his command. A single pulse of divine energy surges throughout the corridor, wiping the undead hordes in the vicinity out with such efficiency that their entire bodies are reduced to nothing in an instant, nothing more than a flash of light that leaves everything but the attacking infected intact, almost as if they were never there to begin with.

What turns to face Kevin in the aftermath of the purge is something much more benevolent looking than one might expect of that familiar, devilish aura - a pale, well built figure with six magnificent wings and long golden hair, his body modestly wound in silk to cover up the more vulnerable aspects of his body, and a pair of horns jutting from either side of his head.

He smiles once he sees who it is. Then again, he probably knew even before then.

Hello again.

[Kevin has instinctively pressed his back to a corner, protecting himself from the energy surge. Show-off, he thinks with no little amount of criticism, and is about to convey his disapproval when he is confronted with Lucifer's....state.

Honestly, with all those wings, he could at least have covered himself a little better.
]

W-what are you doing?!

[For heaven's sake, there are children here. And yes, that is more important than the zombie attack.]

[Clearly their heavens are different, if that's how he's reacting.

That or he's spent too long on Earth.
]

Our friends here are a little uncooperative, so I'm retaliating in turn.

[He knows what your deal is Kevin.

Just being a jerk.

[A bit of both. Neither his heaven or Victorian England have a nonchalant approach to nudity, though, as usual, there are always exceptions to the rule.

And so it is only natural for Kevin to blush and stare down at his shoes. He knows exactly what Lucifer is doing too.
]

At least someone is being cooperative.

Make no mistake; my actions here are retaliatory in nature. I stand by what I said before.

[But his embarrassment is a little difficult to deal with, so.]

You can look now.

[If he doesn't trust Lucifer on that, he should at least be able to see he's wearing shoes by looking up a little. Looking at him reveals he's human again, fully clothed.]

[It is a testament to Kevin's nature that he looks up without any shadow of suspicion. However, he is still beet red and avoiding eye-contact.

Dignity, he sort of remembers having it.
]

Still, the results are commendable.

[As the angel of earth, he does appreciate some proper house cleaning.]

I pride myself on my efficiency, if anything else.

["Pride".

Just a little joke there.
]

It's interesting, isn't it? They've managed to spawn undead without resorting to the supernatural.

I daresay their science will be indistinguishable from magic one day.
senseandcecilbility: (doubt)

[personal profile] senseandcecilbility 2013-11-19 09:33 am (UTC)(link)
[This is the face of an angel who thinks that is a terrible idea.]

I am certain that they can put their so called scientific achievements to a better use.

[personal profile] individualist 2013-11-20 12:39 am (UTC)(link)
Of course - it's not so much the result itself, moreso the replication of necromancy that's impressive. I'm not even sure the creation of these creatures was intentional on their part, considering the chaos they're causing.

["But then, we know how impressive human advancement is already, considering what happened to the city below..." he thinks to himself. The destruction was impressive, after all.]

They've simply come a long way from the early days.

[The city bellow is under my jurisdiction, sir.]

...That might be the case, though it is not humanity's place to raise those who are already dead. Time moves on for them for a reason. For their souls, time is healing.

[They are not stuck like us.]

[personal profile] individualist 2013-11-21 07:06 pm (UTC)(link)
[He chuckles at that, giving Kevin a shake of his head.]

All manner of non-humans will do it, if given a reason. Giving them control over their own souls sounds much more merciful.
senseandcecilbility: (safely)

[personal profile] senseandcecilbility 2013-11-24 12:20 am (UTC)(link)
They do have control over their souls, Morning Star. [Even if Uriel has spent most of his life wondering why.] It is merely that they cannot escape the consequences of their choices. No more than you and I.

[Last time he checked, both of them had plenty freedom to mess things up enough to lose their wings and get kicked out of heaven.]

[personal profile] individualist 2013-11-24 05:11 am (UTC)(link)
Ah, yes - that's it isn't it? Saints go to heaven, Sinners go to hell. Such choice, Uriel, a whole two options.

But I hardly think the former is that honest with themselves. It isn't genuine if they're playing nice with one another with the promise of a reward, is it? Would that also deem them unworthy of going to Heaven? The dishonesty of their goodness, if their personality and character is still flawed?

[Hell's still fucked up though, he lets demons have their way with souls while they're there.]

The odds are stacked against them, you see? It's not as black and white as they'd like to think.

If they wish to return their souls to their bodies and live on, so be it, I say. It's still theirs, no matter what God thinks. Or you.

Insincerity is punished like any other sin. And there are far more than saints and sinners in this world. We are not blind to them. And neither is He. Why not have a few simple rules to live by in peace and wisdom? God does not require much else, and it is in their own benefit.

You seem to have forgotten the kindness and love of your creator. Perhaps you have been away from His presence for too long.

[Or, more likely, Lucifer is too proud and obsessed with the idea that his way is so much better. Kevin...has not forgotten God, not for one second. He was created an Angel of the Presence, and since his banishment, God's refusal to speak to him has been like an open wound, a gaping void impossible to ignore.]

Besides, the wretched beings you have destroyed know nothing about choices, Lucifer. You certainly must have better examples of triumphs against my Lord's will.

Mindless and without choice? It's not much different from His followers, is it?

[But then he laughs.]

I'm kidding, Uriel. The process is flawed, but it's a step in the right direction. That is what's worth celebrating.
senseandcecilbility: (what is my life)

[personal profile] senseandcecilbility 2013-11-30 08:06 pm (UTC)(link)
[He lets out a defeated sigh. He should know better than attempting to talk sense to Lucifer - any Lucifer. That one is long gone.]

You find the strangest reasons to celebrate...

[If zombies rock your boat...]
individualist: (louis - great expectations)

[personal profile] individualist 2013-12-01 07:01 pm (UTC)(link)
Maybe you'll understand one day. I hope you will.

[Oh well. The sound of undead in the distance approaching their location means it's time for Lucifer to take his leave, and let Kevin get on with protecting the innocent or...whatever.]

I'll leave it to you then, Uriel! For now just keep fighting for what you believe in - be it the Initiative's rebellion or simply a handful of friends. I can't ask for more. [Yet.

But he pivots on a heel and starts walking away - and if at any point Kevin takes his eyes off of Lucifer, even blinks, the devil will vanish. Really is such a show off.

[Really.

It is a real pity that Kevin believes in too many things at the same time. One day, that might cause him even more problems, and he is quite aware of that.

He cannot help but envy Lucifer for one thing: his capacity to prioritize.
