Summary: Space Zombies are allowed out of the Agriculture Wing, slowly revving up their systems to try and infect and absorb as many of the Transports (or 12 Initiative Members) as possible.

Everything is a success at first, from the cool rush of air out of the Agriculture Wing once the doors are fully unlocked, to the heady sense of accomplishment for finally moving forward on something good for the long-term usability of the Moon Base. It's intended to remain a resource, after all, but not be a permanent home. Fraying tempers and the sense of cabin fever descending on Transports continues to showcase how important it is to get back down on Earth to regain some breathing room.

There's little enough dust between all the unmoving, unlit structures, many even supporting the barest dried husks of what once grew there. Upon the lightest touch, they disintegrate, turning into a dust that falls to the ground. The silent rows will be reclaimed and turned into functioning units, based on Transport efforts, and Transport time invested in the project.

There's just one problem. Something stirs in the reclaimed wing, among tangles of hosing and wiring. Skitterings and movements that make no sense for a long abandoned Moon Base. The further in Transports go, relying on magic or technology to generate light past the bare minimum maintained by the base, the more disturbing sights they may run into.

Of course, the most disturbing of all might be lying just around the far corner -- but don't worry, it's only a flesh wound. Try not to get surprised in the machinery, caught suffering from not looking up or caught making out with anything unsavory this holiday season, Transports. We need all of you to stay alive!

[It's a shriek, but not of fear-- rather, of enjoyment. Covered in gore and blood, Finn dashes about, his blood sword swinging. Undead bits cover him from head to toe; with a happy yell he cuts off another's arm.

[Incoming, Finn! A piece of necromorph - indecipherable what piece it is, but it's definitely an alien part - wings spinning over his head and then hits the wall with a wet slap, sliding down. It's only a minor part of the carnage but Tyki still bounds after it a moment later, mouth loose and grinning wickedly, like a dog ready to bite.]

[MIDNIGHT: AGRICULTURAL WING. Pt I: flowers]

When Christopher sees the flowers, he—like the other nerds who lined up for a midnight release of nature—is ecstatic, alternating between manic energy and captivated reverie. He bounds through the rows, rambling off scientific names and properties and delivering a praise by parts of the beautiful plants. He stops in front of particular flowers, like a creature transfixed by celestial arrow, and slowly murmurs words of amazement.

"Ah . . . How beautiful . . ."

But Christopher can never be set to one mood for long. He switches back and forth between energetic and rapturous without a care as he explores the depths of the Agricultural Wing.

Pity the poor person who gets caught up in his joy.

[MIDNIGHT: AGRICULTURAL WING. Pt II: the ruckus]

So he gets everywhere. Whistling to himself, hands in his pockets, he happily, unconcernedly goes further and further in, no matter how strange and disturbing things get. He doesn't flinch at blood or broken glass. He doesn't even seem to feel fear at this.

And when Christopher sees the first of the zombies, he smiles.

"Oh." Christopher's head tilts. "They're dead." He taps his lips. "Poor things." His fangs show. "That means I can kill as many as I want, right?"

Knives appear in his hands with the inexplicability of a magician's wand. Christopher's body remembers what it was freed to do, and he attacks.

[EVERYWHERE. No, I mean it. All the places. At all sorts of times of day and night through all of this.]

So Christopher dedicates himself to the fighting. He assists in missions to the cafeteria and warehouse. He engages in every kind of plan to attack the enemy. VR Rooms, Observatory, Transport Pad: it doesn't matter where. Practically nonstop, as if this is what he exists to do, Christopher finds the enemy and he attacks and attacks and attacks.

And in all that self-indulgent violence and bloodlust, Christopher's voice and body sing with joy.

Particularly his voice.

"Mary, Mary, quite contrary, how does your garden grow? With silver bells, and cockle shells, and so my garden grows!" Fluid spatters as a head is released from its body. "Hah! And why not a spider lily? You'll make my garden grow!"

He'll throw the bodies out of the airlock to properly kill them later. The dismembering is the fun part.

But hey, if someone else wants to help with the boring bits, or perhaps get into a little competition for the fun parts, that is not something Christopher could object to. And certainly, he'd never leave a friend to get attacked! (Even if they have never met before, what greater start to friendship than joining in battle?)

[If Chris stops by the cafeteria, he'll find some overturned chairs. No signs of zombies yet, but there is some sounds of quiet sobs coming from behind one of the chairs. If he inspects the sound, he'll find a Witch a little girl with a camera around her neck.

It's kind of mystery how Carol got this far without getting ripped apart, but there she is. She doesn't notice that Christopher is there too.]

Option 1: Nov 1st, Agriculture Wing, just after midnight

[She's there for the opening of the agriculture wing, drawn by curiousity and a lack of other things to do. At first she smiles as she explores, buoyed by the success of the endeavour, the possibility to make things up here better for everyone.

Then things start to go wrong. The signs are there in the old evidence of violence, the strange scrawls across the walls. Mostly it's the way her senses start to scream wrong wrong wrong.

Something skitters in the shadows overhead and she looks up with glowing eyes, body slipping into an instinctive fighting stance and bearing fangs at what is up there.]

Option 2: Nov 2nd-3rd, all across the infected areas of the base

[Seras fights.

Maybe you come across her during the early hours when the Draculina is just getting started, or perhaps it's later when the battle has dragged on and on. This is very different to the Seras who appeared cheery and smiling on the network. What smiles she wears now are sharp, bloodthirsty things, eager for the prospect of violence as she smashes through ghouls (as she thinks of them, misshapen though they are).

Punching, tearing, stomping and slashing with the mass of writhing shadows that spawn from where her left arm should be -- at this point Seras has figured out what she has to do to stop these creatures and is dismembering them for later disposal with terrible efficiency, driven by the need to protect and her own savage nature.]

Option 2?? Because he wasn't in the agricultural wing when it first happened.

Having been elsewhere on the base when the ghoul-like creatures had first made their appearance, Walter had missed the initial wave of fighting.

It's a sore point for him. Even though he had made a prior commitment on that day, it still irritates the hell out of him. If he had been on site, he could have cleared it up and they wouldn't have had this growing problem. But, once again, incompetence reigned.

"Just how the hell did it manage to spread like this?" Walter asks, irritation clear in his voice as he pulls at the cuff of one of his gloves, making sure it's tight against his hand as he prepares to catapult himself into the battle mindset.

He was going to make them pay. He was going to make them pay dearly. He had just cleaned these fucking halls!

November 1 and 2, throughout the base // OTA

[After a period of chaos, enough of the situation has become known for people to begin dealing with it.

Kaworu is drifting down the dark hallways of the reclaimed wing - not walking, but floating a foot above the ground, his hands casually in his pockets. His body gives off a very faint light as he moves, flickering only when he manages to grab the attention of one of the strange, violent beings.

The first few times a zombie had tried to pounce on him were alarming, but at this point he hardly reacts other than to move out of the way and protect himself with his A.T. Field. As hard as the zombies try to break through his wall of light, nothing works.

Calmly, Kaworu nudges each one he finds down along the hallways, slowly corralling them into a room just outside one of the airlock compartments.]

[Avoiding zombies is delicate business for Billy. He prefers to take cover and move slowly, going just the minimum distance to retrieve extra supplies on his list. With careful application of these blades, he might just get out alive.

'Careful application' becomes 'inelegant slashfest' shortly after, of course---his hearing's sharp enough to keep him from getting his throat ripped out, thankfully, but it's still a struggle every time.

Right now, for example, there's a sudden violent stab at his chest that he just barely avoids. He can't help but yell as he slides out of the way, coasting down a slip-n-slide of gore. As he slides, he viciously hacks away at the legs closing in on him.]

...I wish I could burn this suit.

[PART I: THE ARRIVAL]

(October 31st)

[The life (or lack there of) in the agriculture wing doesn't seem to bother the Death Knight, or even greatly interest her at all. She had wandered over in hopes of finding something new to do, or even just to look at. Since arriving on the moon, the days had positively crawled, and she personally had been chomping at the bit for a change of some sort.

But the place looks deep enough. Maybe she'll find something a bit further inward. For a few seconds, she'll inspect the dead plants, occasionally picking at them until they fall to ash. It seems to be an almost hypnotic motion...do you really want to snap her out of it?]

[PART II: THE ASSAULT]

(October 31st - November 1st)

[Killing undead did nothing to soothe the pain of the Death Knight's curse, but with recent altercations, Seviilia felt little need to immediately murder the first breathing creature that happened upon her. That didn't mean she wasn't going to take out some frustration on the first unlucky undead that happens to cross her path, of course.

Being a soldier, she isn't about to get overwhelmed anytime soon, but she seems to be purposefully gathering a bunch of enemies to take out at once, gracefully ducking in and around structures until she has a bunch following her, slowed by her frost magics.

Anyone who takes a second to observe might mistake her for someone who could possibly be injured, due to two large cleaves in the right side and straight through her chest. It seems that most of the skin there has healed back, but the metal of her armor remains mostly bent apart. She is triggered by sharp movement around her, as well as any strange sounds out of the ordinary. She is very very focused on pooling all her zombies together. Maybe you'd like to help her...or maybe you're hoping she'll take a distraction off of you.]

[PART III: THE INFECTION]

(November 1st - 2nd)

[Its unclear when it might have happened, but the Death Knight is covered from head to toe in zombie gore, and breathing just a little too heavy for a normal undead creature. She had removed herself from the Agricultural Wing a few hours ago, but she hadn't gotten too far after having stopped to figuratively catch her breath.

She seems distracted, staring directly to the floor with eyes widened in a most uncharacteristic fashion. All of her weight rests against the nearest wall and, judging by the red smudges, she's slipped across it once or twice. Its impossible to tell which blood is her's and which is...not, especially since she seems to be bracing herself by clasping her upper arms. Occasionally, her body will spasm in an almost epileptic manner. Is she dying?

Only one way to find out.]

[Rynlan watches her pick at a couple of the plants from where he's hovering nearby, faint distaste registering in his frown-- that's just the nature of their kind, isn't it? To break things even if they're already dead? He ought to just move on, keep on investigating the area, but he can't quite help commenting.]

Enough of that and we're going to have dust everywhere, you know. Perhaps you ought to leave handling those to someone else?

[It's just barely a question rather than statement, but he's making some effort to keep his tone civil, if still rather cool.]

[Holy crap, there is so much room here. Tsubomi moves between rows with a flashlight in one hand, just in case the power goes out, and her Heart Perfume clipped at her waist--in case there's atmosphere problems. She's mostly paying attention to the equipment, since that's what they're looking to make use of, but occasionally she'll pause over the dead husks of plants and pass a glowing green hand over it. But even she can't bring a plant back to life just yet. Ah well.

She's not being very careful with the flashlight, though, and it's entirely possible you're going to get light in your face.]

b - agricultural wing, attack. closed to agricultural wing openers.

[Holy crap, there are so many zombies here?! Tsubomi's the type to get close to the pack, her flashlight and her Heart Perfume held in white-knuckled fists.]

I don't like this.

[It's said softly, heavy with anxiety, but she's not going to turn back. Not if there's danger left. Upon first sight of the zombies, she's going to scream. But after a moment, she's going to tuck the flashlight away, and she's going to transform. There is no time to waste--not if they're all getting out of here alive! She launches herself into battle, leading with a kick.]

c - anywhere near the agricultural wing and the hydroponics warehouse.

[She's keeping busy. There's plenty to do, after all.

She'd begun with hands and feet, back in the agricultural wing, but that had proven soon enough not to be working, and she's swapped to her energy beams. Focusing them enough to incinerate a zombie takes precious energy and precious time, so she eventually takes to decapitating them first, then destroying an entire pile at once.

Her first duty is, as always, helping people, and anyone having a little trouble might find massive pink blasts knocking zombies into the air, to give them some breathing room.]

d - november 2 around 3 AM, enroute and inside room 118. closed to people in housing or roommates.

[Magical girl or not, she has to rest after nearly a day of fighting. Without the stash of Precure Seeds she had at home, it's got to happen the normal way, and she makes it into the housing wing with little fanfare. She's covered in a whole pile of grossness, guts and blood most prominently.

She walks with the single-minded purpose of the exhausted, hoping there's been no infiltration here, and when she reaches room 118, she takes a long look around before her uniform is banished in a flash of pink light, and she can stumble to her bunk.]

( Having been in a haze, Cosima just really needed legitimate food. Food is good. Food makes you better when you feel sick. Food probably wouldn't help what was wrong with her but she was willing to try anyways and like hell anything was going to get in her way.

On the way to the cafeteria, Cosima had felt like there was a piece of information she was missing out on. Everything seemed so deserted. Where was everyone?

Wandering into the cafeteria, she searched for food to nom on. Rustling in the shadows of the room caught her attention. )

Hello?

( There appeared to be a large person curled up in a ball, maybe in fetal position. Curiosity getting the better of her, Cosima approached. )

Are you okay?

( The being stretched out its body and as it did, it quickly towered over Cosima. The raw number of limbs would have been enough to terrify Cosima into an early grave but the fact that two of them looked like scythes was really the icing on the zombie cake.

Needless to say, she screamed. )

[She's in the kitchens, because despite everything, Helena still gets hungry, and she still wants food.]

[She hasn't even gotten to the actual food yet when she hears the scream. And the part that gets her most is the familiarity; it's her voice, but not. And it's not Sarah's either. Only a beat passes before she swiftly makes her way for the sound.]

[And it's one of the beasts, there. They don't terrify her as much as they probably should, despite their disgusting and horrific appearances; they are unholy demons, and she must kill them (she's already killed some), and that's more important. After a moment, Helena notices the target, and she can't help the way her lips twitch in an almost smile. Because it's the one - the sick one she saw briefly over the network.]

[Without another thought, Helena runs and lunges for the beast. She jumps at its back, and her knife comes out; she stabs immediately into its back, then drags it up and over the shoulder, scrambling up the body as she cuts into it. The creature starts, trying to throw her off, but she shifts again, bringing the knife down in front and drawing a line across its throat.]

Agriculture Wing - October 31st, shortly after the wing opens

[Xion was conscripted to bring up plants, and given that it's a form of helping, it was less conscription and more volunteering. She has a few cradled in her arms, almost too much to handle, enough that she frequently has to stop, crouch down and readjust them, lest they slip out of her arms and hit the floor.

She peers between the rows and in the circles of equipment curiously, even slightly confused.]

We're gonna put the plants in these?

[They look like really strange places to grow plants.

There's an odd shifting noise behind her and she turns, pausing to try to readjust the plants she's holding as one slides a little near the crook of her elbow. That was strange...

Explain hydroponics to her? Grab some of the plants she's holding before she drops one? Help her investigate the noisemaking?]

In Between locations - multiple days

[Where space is narrow, Xion puts her magic to good use, turning her skills on their foes. She uses fire and ice to destroy and impede the zombies, though the fire at least is too small for more than one or two at a time.

In more open areas though, Xion keeps an eye out, looking for people who need help. She has her healing, and her barrier spell, even if the latter isn't good for more than a hit or two yet.

In either case, she'll be quick to hop to the defense of anybody who's in trouble, or even anybody who's facing down a few zombies.]

[Tsubomi looks up when Xion speaks, smiling, and remembers to be careful with her flashlight, tipping it down to light her path instead of up into Xion's face, as she loops around a row of reservoirs to slip her hand under one of the pots in Xion's arms.]

[She peeks over Xion's shoulder and doesn't see anything just yet.]

Ellie | The Last of Us

a. The 1st and 2nd, various places in the base (feel free to specify)
[Bombings and kidnappings aside, things in this world weren't nearly as bad as they were at home. Of course it was too good to be true, too good to last.

Her first thought when the panic had reached them was that there were infected on the base. Someone infected was brought in, or--something. Runners, clickers, bloaters. But after setting eyes on the things, Ellie's concluded that they're something else. Similar, but different enough. That doesn't change what ultimately needs to be done, though.

Ellie crouches to retrieve the arrow protruding from the corpse on the floor. Stab and shoot anything long enough and it's bound to die eventually, right?]

b. Approaching the 3rd, close to the housing area
[Somewhere in all the killing and fighting, Ellie found herself flung onto the floor. Not an unfamiliar place to be, and not as dangerous as usual thanks to borrowed superspeed (which is fucking awesome and she wishes she could keep it forever, thanks Jesse), but not even that could prevent Ellie's ankle from twisting awkwardly.

She can walk, enough to get away and near safety, but after some hobbling she has to rest against a wall. She's dirty and tired and wow her ankle is throbbing painfully.]

Ah, shit. Damn.

[After the zombie slaughter, no doubt the last thing Ellie wants to see is a werewolf. Bloodsnap has since learned better than to lurk around in her feline form, but with her inability to return to something a little more...human, she's stuck walking around huge and furry. At this point, she wasn't sure which form scared people more -- the wolf or the panther. A philosophical question for another day, perhaps.

The Gilnean appears to be letting her nose guide her, and will easily be spotted by her sniffing even before her shadow comes into view around the corner. The adrenaline has been running thick the past view days, and she's not taking any chances when she smells something human. Whatever it is, its not moving, but it is speaking. Did that mean she was safe?

Her voice comes out as a nervous growl and she stops short of coming into view.]

[Option A: November 1st, midnight, following the opening of the Ag.Wing]

[Gin Ichimaru is not all that into fighting. He's good at it back where he's from, maybe one of the best there was, but unless there's good reason for it he prefers to stand back and let everyone else do the work, which is exactly why he came to the 'grand opening' in the first place. He thought it would be a whole lot of nothing, but at least a chance to mingle amongst a few of the others already there, but ultimately a slow, uneventful...event.

So when space zombies turn up with the intent to rip his face off, he has no choice but to fight back; his weapon is suited to combat in the narrow corridors fortunately, as with each thrust of his sword the blade extends rapidly and pierces multiple targets at once, though he soon finds that this alone isn't enough once he retracts his weapon. He isn't so sure whether kido would be an option either, considering large explosions in a place like this seems almost dangerous(having no idea just how much of a beating the place can take), so he sticks with repeatedly hacking and slashing until there's not much left of their undead assailants to assail them anymore.

He's surrounded by a few corpses mutilated beyond recognition, his only surefire way of stopping them right now, as he plunges his sword into the chest of a floored zombie that's still flailing it's arms towards him, pinning it to the spot.

Parts of his face are soaked in blood, but fortunately no infection for him. Perks of being a ghost.]

Sheesh. Buncha skittery little guys, aren't ya?

[Option B: November 2nd and onwards]

[He's had enough fighting by this stage, so he decides to just mess around a little. Granted, at first, he had no real ill-intent; it's only once he stumbles across a zombie that he decides not to fight he gets an idea, as it relentlessly pursues him down the hall. And then another. And another.

With a little following ten members strong of the undead on his heels, he makes his way through the moonbase evading them, luring them...straight to you.

And once he sees you, despite the crowd of zombies in hot pursuit, he's definitely smiling.]

Hey, hey, comin' through!

[He dashes past, and now the zombies have seen you too, and they're down with either of you at this point. What will you do? Fight? Escape and follow the guy who put you in this situation? Die? Either way he's probably going to watch your reaction for fun.]

[ Cross is back at it after a quick coffee (read: liquor) break, and he casually slides his flask back into the pocket of his pants as this guy gleefully comes at him with several zombies in tow. He keeps his composure and makes sure his ponytail is nice and secure; he rolls his sleeves down; he slides his gloves back on.

And then he falls into step with this guy, running alongside him, but backwards, grinning at these zombies trying to grab at him. ]

Making a game of getting rid of these things?

( Rather than just cancel his holoform after the really disappointing party, Rodimus takes to wandering the halls towards the Agricultural Wing as the human female form his psyche took. Someone had said something about something about a group of people there as well, and hey - it was an organic holiday, wasn't it? Maybe that'd be better than the cafeteria for keeping oneself busy and not thinking about. About everyone.

It would have been, except before Rodimus can even reach the wing, something drops from the ceiling in front of him. Looking like no organic species he'd heard of. Not that he made any attempt to keep track because that was absolutely not his division.

A normal, sane individual would have probably run the opposite way the moment it started acting weird. Rodimus? Rodimus just smiles. )

november 2-3
( It's possible to get exhausted, even when it's physically impossible to catch one's breath. And Rodimus wasn't in the best of shape on arrival and with no one to patch him up since then, the constant demands on his systems weren't doing him any favors.

Not that it showed, because he's tackling the problem head on. Or vehicle on in some cases, switching between alt-mod and still annoyingly tiny robot mode when it suits him. And maybe he's not found a gun, but the exhaust pipes on his arms fulfill that purpose, smoking whenever he's finished a round or found a moment's rest.

And for all his previous bravado, he's good at bringing them down - using his alt-mode to knock them off their feet or escape one on the drop. They might be the more outlandish and pointless displays of talent, but they're effective all the same. )

[There's another person there, but really, once Helena spots the beast falling from the ceiling, that's where her priority falls. The other woman doesn't budge or run - she looks more amused than anything else.]

[It doesn't matter. Helena's not saving her, so much as attacking the creature. She takes it by surprise, coming up behind it and stabbing it in the lower back, where the spine might be. She drags her knife up, slicing it open and its limbs start to flail around in the process.]

Nov 1-3 | OTA

[He may be armed - there's a pistol in easy sight at his side -, but fighting zombies isn't really his forte and Charlie's doing his best to stay as far out of harm's way as is possible while still being useful. He spends the three days of the attack mostly in the housing wing, trying to help organize and plan assaults meant to take back overrun areas of the base.

There's a taut line of tension in his shoulders, face drawn, and there's no denying he's being a little snappish with people. Still, there's an effort being made there: to wrangle people at loose ends, to organize supply runs to the cafeteria to keep the people either trapped or taking a respite in the housing block comfortable.

Need something to do? It's pretty obvious that Charlie can find you something to work on given the way he's barking at anyone who'll listen. Need supplies - something to eat, some water after time spent hacking and slashing at space zombies? He's helping keep track of a cache of supplies from a recent run to the cafeteria and can probably scrounge up a snack bar or a bottle of water if you need it.]

[It's not such a long stint that food and water are on her top list or priorities (she's gone for four days in the Amazon without; this is a vacation by objective comparison alone) but pulling the sort of lengthy patrols that've been occupying near every waking moment, Chloe's less than pleased to find one of the stockpiles nearest the start of her route already burned up by the far end of day two.

Or is it day five? Hard to tell any more.

The sight of Charlie, though, (all business and sharp, eager angles) tossing out aid and orders like it's as natural as anything, does a good enough job of soaking up at least some of the exhaustion tugging hard at spent muscles.] Keep this up and they'll be handing you a crown by the end of all this.

[Lucifer hadn't any real intention of attending the opening of the agricultural wing, so he's legitimately surprised when he sees the undead at first. He almost considers trying to take control of them, but considering they weren't as supernaturally inclined as he, it's no use - especially when one of them swipes at his chest and tears the front of his suit.

Needless to say, attacking the Devil is always a bad idea, no matter who you are.

If you happen upon an area Lucifer is in, you'll know straight away - there's a definite chill in the air which gets stronger the closer you get to him, eventually happening upon him standing amidst large chunks of ice sticking out of the walls, ceilings and even right in front of you, each containing zombies in all sorts - either a single zombie completely encased, or several bunched together with parts of them sticking out from the ice. No mess, no fuss, and he can clean this up pretty easily himself so no harm done.

If he does sense someone approach he'll turn to face them, his demeanor calm and posture relaxed.]

[ He'd gone to the Agricultural Wing in search of party, with tea and biscuits, and found zombies instead. Rude. At this stage of the game, he's covered head to toe in zombie bits. And strawberry pie. Don't ask.

The great tragedy, to his way of thinking, is that he can't eat any of the stray pieces of pie still clinging to his person, as that would necessitate eating zombie bits as well. Thus to calm his temptation (and reduce the threat of infection, which he'd heard whispers about), he is heading to the housing wing for a quick shower, when he rounds a corner and... ]

[ He startles back. Something has surprised him. Whether it's Lucifer's wings or horns or very strategically placed bits of cloth or something else, it's hard to say. Whatever it is, he recovers quickly and wiggles his bloodstained fingers. ]

Except she seems to have been spotted while trying to get away, and anyone close by will be able to hear two sounds - the cry of one of those monsters and the scream of a young girl.]

[Carol can be found in various places, trying to find hiding spots away from the undead. If you're looking through any small spaces, you might find her - along with a blinding flash in your face. And after she flashes her camera at anyone who stumbles across her, they'll find themselves frozen in place for a few seconds until the effects of her camera lens wears off.

After she calms down, she'll apologize to anyone she might have froze.]

[Not difficult enough to prevent a little girl from noticing and catching her in a flash that made her shimmer into view, her glowing blue eyes narrowed in irritation. When it faded, she turned towards the nervous voice, intent perhaps on snapping at her until she realized precisely who it was. Hrm.]

[Despite the circumstances, her young voice was mostly emotionless, aside from a faint irritation.]

( What do you do when you're the most dangerous woman in the galaxy and there's suddenly a hoard of zombies in a relatively small enclosed space?

No matter where one finds Gamora, she looks like she's holding her own. It's been too long since she properly stretched actual muscles in a way that wasn't courtesy of the VR. Fighting with a combination of both physical attacks and her weapon, Gamora appears to be utterly unconcerned with the possibility of infection. Instead she might be laughing as she decapitates one with an effortless swing of her sword or uses an overly large halberd to cleave one cleanly in half. )

( Even Gamora needs a break when it's constant fighting for three days. She might be borderline psychopathic with a healing factor and beefed up physical attributes including stamina, but a glass of water and a moment to clear her head is something she can appreciate.

Not that she makes a pretty picture, one hand clutching the stave her weapon has changed into while the other is tightly wrapped around a flask of some liquid or another. Not coffee, and Gamora can only imagine the fit Quill'd be throwing about it now. Gamora is covered in - well she's not quite sure what it is, but it stinks and there's no time to get clean. )

After this I'll kill anyone who tries to stop me from taking an hour long shower.

[Jaime is mildly aware that he may not be an altogether comforting sight at the moment. He has never been able to manage anything even close to intimidating - maybe it's the affable, mild personality, maybe it's the fact that bright blue has never spelled out scary, or maybe it's just the fact that he's been publicly filmed apologizing for being slightly rude. Who knows? Either way, he's making a pretty decent case for himself as an intimidating figure despite being all of five feet and six inches, both arms having long since been turned into long, wicked blades and far too much time on the field ensuring that he's covered with muck he doesn't even want to begin thinking about.

But hey, at least he's not laughing. At this particular moment, he has to say that the homicidal green lady scares him a whole lot more than the things actively trying to gnaw off his face, albeit without much success. As one's head is separated from its body with a little more force than necessary, it happens to land right on top of one of his armblades and slides a good way down before stopping.]

Whoa! [He gazes a little mournfully at it. There is a decapitated head on his arm. This is his life now. He scrapes it off on the wall and allows to it to fall to the ground with a quiet thunk.

[Kili is having the time of his life dismembering zombies. They don't seem to stay down, but hacking off limbs seems to work at slowing them, so that's what he's doing.

He'll be fighting one of two ways: from a distance, with his bow, or up close and personal, with his sword and perhaps a borrowed knife or two from his brother. There's a grin on his face and determination in his eyes. This is a great way to finally stretch his legs and get rid of that pent up energy.]

[it's not difficult to tell where Rose has been in the chaos. zombies with neatly severed limbs and large puncture wounds in their skulls litter her path, along with their slightly more conspicuous brethren - the zombies which Rose didn't have the time or inclination to kill have been completely wrapped in lavender yarn, leaving them a writhing mess of impotent rage.

should you catch up to her, you'll see that despite her unorthodox choice of weapons (knitting needles and yarn in a zombie outbreak? really?) Rose is doing quite well for herself. she moves quickly and efficiently, striking directly at vital points and making short work of the monsters before her. she seems to take grim satisfaction in the task and shows, if anything, a morbid interest in the things she's kill rather than any revulsion.

she doesn't seem to want or need any assistance, but she rarely ever gets what she wants. just make sure you make it very clear you aren't dead before approaching her - those needles are sharp.]

[Jaime's first reaction to the necromorphs is fear, pure and simple. He's not used to seeing abominations like this anywhere beyond comic books and movies, and at least the alien foes he's faced looked sensible.

Once the Scarab's insistent shrieking of KILL THEM died down a little, however, he remembers that his body is literally a killing machine. This is not typically something that brings him any joy, but once he finds out the true nature of the beasts, it's a great comfort to him. That's one big thank you to the Reach; their predilection for instant, lethal and downright brutal violence en masse has finally come in handy.

It's only after he's been reassured a couple times that there really isn't anyone in there that he gets to work, but when he reluctantly jumps into the fray, at least he's efficient. It's almost alarmingly easy to kill them, whether it be through his arms turning into guns to reduce them to ash, or the armblades that can cut swiftly through flesh and bone like butter.

He's clearly gaining no joy from what he's doing. He's unaccustomed to this level of butchery and doesn't wish to be used to it anytime soon - that, and the smell is awful. If he says he's not responsible for some puke on the ground here and there, he's lying.

His main priority isn't so much killing the zombies as much as it is looking out for anyone who needs a hand or might even be over their head. Everyone else's safety comes before this persistent butchery. Every now and then he'll pause, demeanor at odds with his quickness in battle, to look upon the bodies and mutter an emphatic,] Blegh.

[There are certain moral concerns with being a living tracking device. Secret identities are a clear issue here, as is the simple idea of privacy. Each person deserves to be able to go about their business without knowing where everyone is at any given time.

When there's a zombie attack, that little piece of morality is absolutely irrelevant. He keeps an eye on the people that he cares about, and near the top of the list of those he intends to check up on - if at all possible; these zombies are a pain in the ass to mow through - is one Dick Grayson. He'd like to make it look as if approaching Dick - Robin - is just a happy coincidence, but the fact that he makes a beeline towards may be a bit of a giveaway.]

[Selflessness, by Chloe's definition, has always been synonymous with stupidity. It's the sort of heroism that brings about a quick end to an otherwise interesting story, the sort of tactic employed by someone that hasn't got the full grasp of how valuable life truly is.

She does. She always has. It's why when things are in the process of turning sour, she's already got one foot out the door, and why survival has always been at the top of her list of priorities. And why she should be anywhere else than where she stands, straight-faced and focused, M-9 rifle in hand running clean sweeps with its laser sight across the shadowed halls beyond the limits of the living quarters-- taking the occasional (literal) shot in the darkness when distant noise sounds off like an alarm.

Like hell is she planning on letting anything close in on housing. Better hope you're not on the other end of her scope.]

HOUSING:

[Much as she might like to pretend rest is unnecessary, it isn't. Ten hour shifts in the corridor are capped off with a purposeful run to where supplies are being housed for a quick recharge: one meager snack, a few bottles of water, and a nap-- if possible-- spent sitting upright (gun in hand) against the nearest wall till noise or the dull vibrations of shuffling feet bring her back to consciousness without a second spent on hesitation or grogginess.

And occasionally the leveling of her gun. --Shit, sorry, mate. Pure instinct.]

[The closer Kouichi gets to the housing wing, the less importance he places on stealth. He's not so much tired as he is eager to change out of bloody, gore-splattered clothing, so he pushes himself to move faster -- even if his footsteps accidentally echo on the floor. He can handle more zombies if they're attracted by the noise he makes, but for a moment he forgets to take account of anyone else who might be set off by the noise]

[Kang isn't fond of undead, with one or two exceptions, on a good day. He really doesn't like infestations of mindless undead bent on turning as many people as possible, and he doesn't want to see the effect the virus would have on a non-human.

Unfortunately, there's a limit to how many spells he can cast, so he's using them as sparingly as possible, and refraining from using any fire, despite it being the best method. It's not the best of ideas on a lunar base with a limited oxygen supply. Dismemberment and the occasional turning spell, and lightning spells on piles of limbs are his tactic.

When he finishes slicing his way through several of them, he works on carefully tossing the gorey bits onto a large sheet of metal so that each piece is in contact with it. Sometimes, he gets interrupted by another zombie or two, and adds them in. Sometimes, they take him by surprise, or he catches one before it can take another Transport by surprise, and it's only rarely that he needs to use his last-ditch ability, letting loose a bolt of lightning from his mouth just like a dragon.]

[ Should Ashraf spot anyone in trouble, being overwhelmed or otherwise, he doesn't hesitate to swoop in. He'll already be striding over by then, looking over whoever he's found with concern. ]

[ Ashraf has had an idea, and it requires another body. For this one he'll sweep back toward a populated area, looking for people he knows to be capable fighters — people who can hold their own, without him having to worry about healing them every three seconds. Anyone he doesn't have much faith in will get an encouraging smile and a round of supportive magic, but he won't ask them to play the lure for him.

Unless, of course, he runs into them in some darkened hallway and there are no other options. Faith in ability is such a situational thing. ]

Several minutes into the exploration, she finally voices her suspicions to a traveling companion.]

[At the very beginning, she kills zombies like she kills people - screaming and slashing them in half with her chainsaw. This is much less effective on the necromorphs than she expected, though. They continue to be animated, in sync, like a marionette.

[What is Kanaya doing in the closet? Human stigma against homosexuality aside, she has to get away from the zombies for a while, because she knows what time it is. The network's going to go back up any minute now, and if someone's going to tell people what's going on it might as well be someone relatively resilient against getting necronommed.

[After a day and a half straight of the invasion, she has a routine. Chainsaw the necromorph's head off first, they're more intelligent than they look. The left and right limb next, to throw them off balance. Cut the body on the floor in half above the waist to separate the torso from the legs; and finally separate the legs from each other. She has the emotion of a surgeon and the precision of a video game player.

There's just one problem. She has neither a pyrotechnic nor psychokinetic weapon, so an increasingly obtrusive trail of remmants emerges in her wake. Getting frustrated with this state of affairs, she asks other Transports in the area--]

[Everybody loves a good food run, right? There are plenty of perfectly safe transports to thank for Kanaya's ability to coordinate the substances they need to cram into this box and have her run over, very fast - she might run into somebody or knock something over in the process. She arrives with a wide grin on her face though, fangs showing.] Here you go. This is breakfast.

[Just ignore how she's very thoroughly contaminated with guts apart from some mismatched mittens on her hands to keep the package clean.]

[Given how rarely she has left the scene of the infection, Kanaya is at this point in time an utter mess. Her kimono hangs open almost like a purple trench coat, making her slip the primary garment during these final hours. Her makeup has smeared into streaks beneath her eyes and around her mouth, easily mistaken for very messy war paint. Exhaustion is exclusively emotional for her; spending so much time alert and afraid is draining, but her body is already a husk. She can still stand upright, after all this.

By now enough zombies have been killed that she can be found doing nothing more than listlessly nudging body parts into a pile with her boot.]

[Lulubell abhors mess. She really does. But when it comes to her responsibilities— or necessary situations— she'll make an exception. Space zombies count as a necessary situation, she figures.

But that doesn't mean she has to like it. And her choice of weapon ensures further splatter; she's chosen to shapeshift her arms into large blades for this task, and it's up-close and dirty. Sad to ruin her clothes further, but it's the most convenient method currently. As she fights, systematically seeking out the necromorphs, she isn't bothering with any fancy aiming. She'd usually prefer to do this precisely, but her patience is currently tried. Instead of going for vital areas, she simply hacks and slashes at whatever she can, cleaving limbs, splitting faces, maybe even managing an impaling here and there.

She takes some care to avoid infection, but other than that, the trail of gore she leaves behind doesn't fit with her blank, unaffected expression. She pauses occasionally to wipe the horrible fluids off her face occasionally with a grimace of disapproval, but it doesn't much help her overall state of being caked in disgusting things.]

[She's in the middle of a pit of zombies when someone calls to her. No words, just a glad cry ringing above the snarls and squelching of diseased flesh. And then the horde around her is dwindling in two directions, some sliced down by Lulubell and some chewed and torn apart by a purple-tinted cloud of flashing, pointed wings.

Tyki himself is riding a cheerful wave of adrenaline as he waves in the mire. He took his gloves off long ago and he's amusing himself trying to tear enemies apart with his bare hands. What with his Noah strength, it's not going too badly, either.]

[ When there's nothing else to do on a station on the Moon, sometimes you just have to explore; for sanity's sake, if nothing else.

She's trying her best not to disturb the areas around her, her hands tucked against her sides as she peruses the strange, dead plants and machinery. A part of her wonders if she could bring it back--temporarily of course, she isn't so powerful, but every little bit could help. And Miranda's woefully tired of being useless.

She catches something in the corner of her vision, turning her head to catch it, but it's gone, leaving only a nagging sense of wrongness. She swallows and tucks her hands tighter against herself. ]

This place has been...[ She grasps for a proper word, sure she's being paranoid (again, or so she hopes). ] unused for some time, right?

B. Trapped Nov. 2-3

[ Curiosity killed the cat, and Miranda's doing a damn fine job of joining it. She's managed to Invoke her Time Halt, but she's cornered at the end of a dead-end hallway, flinching each time the creatures rush and harrow her little bubble of safety. Panic's setting in, something's she's trying desperately not to give in to, but they're not akuma, they're not over-powered soldiers and not even her brief and frantic Time Reverse has gotten them to a state where they can see reason.

She can't even call for help--she lost her tablet weeks ago, and never managed to find a replacement. Some small part of her knows she'll be fine as long as her concentration holds, but she's trapped and she knows it. ]

[As she turned her head to keep an eye out for things going bump in the dark, Gin took that opportunity to pop up right beside her, walking in tandem as if they were a pair of good buddies.]

[He's been waiting for something like this. Really, he has. When the violence starts, he feels his spirits lift, and an ear-to-ear grin plasters itself to him, mixed with his vampire gameface.

He doesn't care at all about getting dirty. Seems to revel in it, even. His face and neck are coated liberally in all manner of space zombie bits, as well as his hands. He goes after the enemies eagerly, happy to content himself with delivering terribly forceful, brutal blows with his fists and going in with his fangs to tear out chunks.

Although he mainly sticks to blunt force blows to subdue them, he's not hesitant about getting all that necromorph tissue in his mouth when he rips it out with his teeth. Maybe he figures his vampirism will guard against infection, or maybe he just hasn't thought that far ahead.

He laughs in between mouthfuls.]

[A ghoul suddenly goes crashing by him, pinned up against the wall by lines of jagged, writhing shadow, given definition only by the burning red embers in their depth. The culprit for this soon strides into view.

Seras looks pissed and even without an extreme face change like Spike's is managing to appear decidedly more inhuman at the moment.]

Bloody monster.

[She hisses before the shadow slices the ghoul's head from its shoulders. Then her head turns, noticing the other vampire.]
