( open ) our ag wing's back and you're gonna be in trouble (hey now! hey now! our ag wing's back)

Date & Time: October 31st, 3313, 11:59PM - November 3rd, 3313, ????
Location: Agriculture Wing, Moon Base to start. Cafeteria, warehouse, docking bay, VR rooms, Transport Pad, or Observatory later on.
Characters: Any & all!
Summary: Space Zombies are allowed out of the Agriculture Wing, slowly revving up their systems to try and infect and absorb as many of the Transports (or 12 Initiative Members) as possible.
Warnings: Log will be locked for potentially graphic violence. Please warn in threads should the violence or gore become graphic.
Notes: Specify a date and location in your top comment. You may specify multiple dates/locations. Specify a time if you wish as well.

Everything is a success at first, from the cool rush of air out of the Agriculture Wing once the doors are fully unlocked, to the heady sense of accomplishment for finally moving forward on something good for the long-term usability of the Moon Base. It's intended to remain a resource, after all, but not be a permanent home. Fraying tempers and the sense of cabin fever descending on Transports continues to showcase how important it is to get back down on Earth to regain some breathing room.

There's little enough dust between all the unmoving, unlit structures, many even supporting the barest dried husks of what once grew there. Upon the lightest touch, they disintegrate, turning into a dust that falls to the ground. The silent rows will be reclaimed and turned into functioning units, based on Transport efforts, and Transport time invested in the project.

There's just one problem. Something stirs in the reclaimed wing, among tangles of hosing and wiring. Skitterings and movements that make no sense for a long abandoned Moon Base. The further in Transports go, relying on magic or technology to generate light past the bare minimum maintained by the base, the more disturbing sights they may run into.

Of course, the most disturbing of all might be lying just around the far corner -- but don't worry, it's only a flesh wound. Try not to get surprised in the machinery, caught suffering from not looking up or caught making out with anything unsavory this holiday season, Transports. We need all of you to stay alive!

We can't bring you back right now!

"Head and heart does nothing. And they still try to move even after..." she follows his gaze and grimaces, "No wonder they sealed it up, I bet it was the only thing they could do."

Looking back up Seras blinks and then smiles in answer to the invitation. "It's our duty." she clenches her shadow fist in front of her chest.

"Normally, I would agree. But considering this is out of our usual region of authority, I think it's just perhaps a bit more of our pleasure."

The one thing Walter has yet to know, of course, is that Exsilium was England. In that case, he would have agreed wholeheartedly that it was their duty. And not only that-- it would have been a great deal more personal.

Oblivious to the hidden details, Walter's smile is a promise of violence to come. This will be the first time, from his perspective, that he fights alongside Seras, and he can't wait to see what kind of battle partner the Draculina turns out to be.

"Shall we get going, then?"

"You're correct." she smiled then, chuckling lightly. The Draculine shakes off some of the gore from her foot and begins to walk down the darkened hallways with the young butler.

The darkness is no trouble at all to her eyes, she sees as clear as day and all her senses are primed to detect their prey. At an intersection she pauses, then nods to the right. "I think we'll have luck this way. They've scattered right through the halls, probably drawn to wherever they smell fresh meat."

"I'll take your word for it."

Walter's eyes are used to darkness, but it would be a lie to say that his eyesight was anywhere near as keen as a vampire's in such low light conditions-- especially when one factored longer distances into the equation. For this reason and the because of the fighting style Walter imagines Seras is constrained to due to her canon's limited usefulness in this particular setting, Walter falls into step behind the Draculina without contest. As he walks, he consigns his wires to drifting slightly behind him, the soft whisper of metal and the sounds of footsteps filling in the silence between their words.

"The lead's all yours on this one, Miss Victoria. I can't wait to see what you're capable of."

As confident as Walter is in his abilities and as cocky as his demeanour happens to be, he doesn't find playing the second or the support in a tandem team the least bit degrading-- so long as he trusts his partner, that is.

"Hopefully I won't be disappointing you." Seras doesn't bother to keep her voice down, they want the creatures to come to them after all.

Here you are ghouls, fresh meat on the menu.

It's only a minute later when they encounter one, two... no, three. They tear down the corridor towards the pair and Seras readily answers their charge with one of her own, drawing her shadow in tight around herself as she hurtles into the monsters before releasing it in a spiralling blade that flings the monsters into the wall and ceiling, spraying gore.

Like snakes, Walter's wires are quick to follow in Seras' wake to strike at their enemies, the thin lines shining with the reflected light from the ember-like glow of Seras' shadow-- and, perhaps, a light of their own-- as they race and arch towards their targets. His manoeuvring different when working in tandem with Seras than when he was working on his own-- Walter manipulates the filaments to specifically target the extremities, selecting and cutting off extremities a few at a time first from the monster landing closest to Seras, then to the one that had landed the farthest from her all whilst working around the Draculina's movements even as the he also swiftly advances forward.

It is the second of his targets that he pays the closer attention to after. The first one's mobility virtually destroyed, it becomes easy prey for Seras, leaving one fully mobile target for her to thrash and one weakling to play with at her leisure. But even as he approaches his chosen target, Walter is nevertheless mindful of where Seras is and what she is doing.

He's also careful to avoid any of that bloody bodily fluid or tissue getting on him. Stuff like that is easier to lose track and control of once it gets on you, and Walter has absolutely no intention of getting himself infected with whatever the hell these monsters have.

She's concious of the wires, not just by sight. Yet she trusts that they won't harm her, won't touch her unless she deliberately tried to throw herself against them. Seras crushes the skull of the first ghoul after Walter severs its limbs, certain that it won't be getting up again before moving to the next one.

Then her focus turns to the last one, leaving Walter to deal with his chosen target, smiling at how easily he takes the monster apart. She delights in ripping it apart, even though it's smaller and waker.

Soon they are left standing in the gorey mess that remains of the ghouls. "Three down." Seras smiled at him.
