( open ) our ag wing's back and you're gonna be in trouble (hey now! hey now! our ag wing's back)
Date & Time: October 31st, 3313, 11:59PM - November 3rd, 3313, ????
Location: Agriculture Wing, Moon Base to start. Cafeteria, warehouse, docking bay, VR rooms, Transport Pad, or Observatory later on.
Characters: Any & all!
Summary: Space Zombies are allowed out of the Agriculture Wing, slowly revving up their systems to try and infect and absorb as many of the Transports (or 12 Initiative Members) as possible.
Warnings: Log will be locked for potentially graphic violence. Please warn in threads should the violence or gore become graphic.
Notes: Specify a date and location in your top comment. You may specify multiple dates/locations. Specify a time if you wish as well.
Everything is a success at first, from the cool rush of air out of the Agriculture Wing once the doors are fully unlocked, to the heady sense of accomplishment for finally moving forward on something good for the long-term usability of the Moon Base. It's intended to remain a resource, after all, but not be a permanent home. Fraying tempers and the sense of cabin fever descending on Transports continues to showcase how important it is to get back down on Earth to regain some breathing room.
There's little enough dust between all the unmoving, unlit structures, many even supporting the barest dried husks of what once grew there. Upon the lightest touch, they disintegrate, turning into a dust that falls to the ground. The silent rows will be reclaimed and turned into functioning units, based on Transport efforts, and Transport time invested in the project.
There's just one problem. Something stirs in the reclaimed wing, among tangles of hosing and wiring. Skitterings and movements that make no sense for a long abandoned Moon Base. The further in Transports go, relying on magic or technology to generate light past the bare minimum maintained by the base, the more disturbing sights they may run into.
Of course, the most disturbing of all might be lying just around the far corner -- but don't worry, it's only a flesh wound. Try not to get surprised in the machinery, caught suffering from not looking up or caught making out with anything unsavory this holiday season, Transports. We need all of you to stay alive!
We can't bring you back right now!

Carol
[Carol is trying to make it somewhere safe, but she's no match for those creatures roaming around the base. Every time she's spotted one, she's ran the other direction.
Except she seems to have been spotted while trying to get away, and anyone close by will be able to hear two sounds - the cry of one of those monsters and the scream of a young girl.]
[Nov. 2 and onward - various places]
[Carol can be found in various places, trying to find hiding spots away from the undead. If you're looking through any small spaces, you might find her - along with a blinding flash in your face. And after she flashes her camera at anyone who stumbles across her, they'll find themselves frozen in place for a few seconds until the effects of her camera lens wears off.
After she calms down, she'll apologize to anyone she might have froze.]
I-I'm s-sorry! I'm so sorry! I-I thought you were one of them!
Late on nov. 2nd?
[Not difficult enough to prevent a little girl from noticing and catching her in a flash that made her shimmer into view, her glowing blue eyes narrowed in irritation. When it faded, she turned towards the nervous voice, intent perhaps on snapping at her until she realized precisely who it was. Hrm.]
...I am fine. Why are you out here? Are you injured?
[Despite the circumstances, her young voice was mostly emotionless, aside from a faint irritation.]
Late on nov. 2nd
[Goodness she feels bad now. She meant to defend herself, not blind some poor person. She really wishes she was better at this sort of thing.]
I-I'm not hurt though! I thought I was being followed by one of those monsters, so I hide in here.
no subject
[At least, she didn’t seem bothered by it too much. She wasn’t certain she believed the girl wasn’t injured though, so she leans forward to examine her before stepping back. She knew she could be a bit overbearing, despite looking nine.]
Why are you out of the safe area?
no subject
I-I was looking for s-some supplies, but then I got chased...
no subject
It is too dangerous out here. I will escort you back to the safe zone.

Nov. 2
[She's a little annoyed, but it passes soon enough.]
Though I have to say, I've never come across a camera that would do that to someone.
Nov. 2
[She takes a moment to try to calm herself.]
O-oh, I-I don't think it's the camera. When I first arrived, I got a special lens that fits over my camera. I-I'm not sure how it works exactly...

[Alice points to the pendant around her neck.]
Given enough practice, your mastery of it should increase more and more.
no subject
[And then when Alice points to her pendant.]
Is that what they gave you when you first got here?
no subject
Some time alone with your weapon would certainly come in handy. Finding out and learning what you're capable of is an important step.
Nov. 1st
Her hand-wraps transformed into a pair of black and gold gauntlets that ran across her arms. The idea of the Initiative bringing children in board for their cause made her blood boil. No child shouldn't be subjected to such things yet.
Saori turned the corner and to her relief, she could make out the silhouettes of Carol and the creature tailing her. ]
This way! I'll cover you!
Nov. 1st
Nov. 1st
Are you alright? Did it hurt you?
Nov. 1st
I-I-I'm not h-hurt.
[She's pretty shaken up and very terrfied, but otherwise it didn't hurt her.]
Nov. 1st
Don't worry. It won't bother you now. You shouldn't be out here by yourself. What's your name?

When someone actually makes themselves known as the cause of this, any anger that Jaime felt quickly ebbs away once he sees it's a kid just trying to protect herself. Once enough time has passed for him to move again, he rubs at his elbow and swings his arm, making sure that everything still works.]
It's fine, it's fine, [he says, holding one hand out in a placating gesture.] I'm one of the good guys, I promise. What are you doing out here?
Nov 2
I-I was trying to find some supplies a-and I got chased in here.

[Carol's not the first one who's been scared by his costume, but Jaime's not sure if he'll ever get used to it. Being the Blue Beetle still means nothing here, after all. He bends down a little to her level and holds out one hand, and lets the armour melt away up to his elbow.]
I'm human under here, see? I'm Blue Beetle, and I can get you back to one of the safe zones, if you'll let me.
no subject
...You're wearing some kind of suit?
[She'll shyly reach out her hand to take his.]
no subject
[He closes his hand around hers and beckons for her to come a little closer. He's certainly not the unearthly pale of some of those here of the elvish persuasion; his hand is brown and warm, reassuringly human down to the slightly bitten nails on one hand.]
This is what I wear to protect people. Back home, I'm a superhero - Blue Beetle. What's your name?

Peter carefully turns and extends a bit of web to lower himself down before her.]
You did that with a camera? [Even if he was headed somewhere, he can't deny his scientific curiosity.]
2nd
[She looks up to see someone descending down...in a spider costume? She takes a couple of steps back when she sees both him and the webbing, looking very timid.]
I-I'm very sorry, I-I thought you were another one of those monsters! And um, it's not the camera doing it. I-It's the lens, I think.
no subject
Once he finishes babbling off that initial stuff, he moves gingerly from his line of web onto the floor. The web continues to hang there because that's what his webs do.]
Can I have a look at the lens? I'm still working out all this weapon stuff.
no subject
So she'll let him look at it.]
I don't really understand the part about it being a weapon, but it does seem like a special lens.
