[OPEN] LOOKIN FOR SOME TROUBLE 2NIGHT
Date & Time: 12/31 evening - 01/01 early morning NEW YEARS YEAAHHH
Location: ALL AROUND THE CITY WE'RE BARCRAWLIN BABY
Characters: Bariyan e Kodhi (
stonefaith), Koltira Deathweaver (
deadelfwalking), and YOU.
Summary: drunk undead men assault the island
Warnings: n/a except for zombie drunkards
[ HERE ARE TWO UNDEAD MEN. IT IS NEW YEAR'S EVE, OR MAYBE IT'S BECOME NEW YEAR'S ALREADY. THEY ARE NOT SURE. THEY ARE BOTH EXTREMELY DRUNK.
They've been drinking their way through the city, bar to liquor store back to bar again, to any alcohol-selling establishment still open at this point in time, or gate crashing parties in search of booze. They are wandering all over the goddamn place. You might run into them entering a bar, or exiting it (possibly unwillingly, and possibly via the window in Bariyan's case). Maybe you turn a corner and walk smack into them. Maybe you hear them getting into a fight a few blocks ahead. MAYBE YOU GET INTO A FIGHT WITH THEM (NOT THE SUGGESTED COURSE OF ACTION).
Basically, Koltira and Bariyan are having a grand time of it and WOULD BE EXTREMELY PLEASED IF YOU JOINED IN. ]

Aye, that is often a main use for holy magic. Given Ashraf's warm reception of me when I first arrived, I can only assume it's the same in your world, Jacquese.
no subject
The suspicious squint is met with a friendly smile as he nods though his attention is quickly drawn to Koltira again. The mention of Ashraf makes him tilt his head curiously, but well, he can imagine what happened quite easily. ]
Among other things.
And yes, Ashraf and I are from the same world after all. It's what the Church taught us, please do not hold it against him.
no subject
[ But he can't look displeased for long. Ashraf's gotten over his prejudices, and it seems this one has too, if his amiability is anything to judge by.
ONWARDS, THEN. It's at this point that Bariyan finally realizes that one half of this conversation is very strange. He gestures at the chalkboard. ]
You can't speak?
[ Is that rude to ask? Oh well, HE'S ASKING. ]
no subject
[He leaves Bariyan's question for Jacquese to answer--he hardly knows himself, nor is it his place to speculate.]
no subject
Never have been able to. [ He pauses to shrug his shoulders in a oh-well-what-can-you-do sort of way, before adding: ] My name is Jacquese Foran, by the way. Nice to meet you, friend of Koltira.
[ After he's sure Bariyan's read that, he flips the board to write his response to Koltira. ]
It would be foolish to hold onto prejudices that do not apply here.
no subject
[ He steps back to let Koltira have his bit of the conversation, as Bariyan contemplates his own prejudices. He's forgiven Ashraf because Ashraf's proven himself a good man, regardless of his beliefs, but this one's new and... and, well, completely inoffensive.
Bariyan's really not in the mood to pursue enmity. ]
no subject
[Koltira quite likes this monk, and imagines he would even if he didn't have Ashraf to vouch for him. He's quiet, reasonable, and non-judgmental--all things Koltira can appreciate.
He might also appreciate Bariyan's response to being called 'friend of Koltira', too. A little bit.]
no subject
It cannot be helped. It can be very hard to dismiss the things you've been taught and thought to be true.
[ He writes something before shifting towards Bariyan again and along with the words on the board, a hand and an amiable smile is offered. ] Nice to meet you, Bariyan.
no subject
You too, Jac...quese? [ did he get that name right boy he sure hopes he did ] Anyway, we were just on our way to, er... [ where? probably another liquor store. or a bar. ] Find more drinks. Would you care to join us?
no subject
[but that's veering into depressing territory. When Bariyan suggests inviting Jacquese along, Koltira nods his assent.]
A fine idea. If you would like, that is.
no subject
Koltira gets a concerned frown, but it's obviously not the time and place to get into that and Bariyan's offer for him to join distracts him anyway. It surprises him, pleasantly so, and he brightens. ]
Of course! If you do not mind, I would love to join you.
no subject
We've got two choices, then-- there's supposed to be a very nice, high-end bar opening up a few blocks that way [ he gestures right ] but it'll be expensive. On the other hand, there's a whole line of cheaper joints over there. [ gesturing left, now. then he shoves his hands into his pockets and frowns that way. ] With, er, a very high chance that someone will knock into your drink and then start a brawl. [ chances of that person being bariyan himself: high. ]
