MISSION: GET TO ZE CHOPPA
Date & Time: August 23rd, 2753 (OOCly forward-dated to the 1st)
Location: Uruguay National Defense HQ
Characters: All transports!
Summary: All transports are sent back to Uruguay to download a self-aware AI before it gets bombed out of existence by an early incarnation of the UE. Time distortion effects will be set right either on the way there or on the way back, according to player choice.
Warnings: violence, action movie tension, 3 terabytes of foot fetish porn.
The Transporter drops the entire transport population into what will quickly be established as Home Base, a mile from the vast, sprawling facility that is Uruguay's National Defense HQ. The low roar of helidrones moving above is pervasive, but the black ships can only be glimpsed here and there through the thick cover of trees overhead. If you keep calm and quiet, it's likely you won't be spotted. It's the UND HQ their attention is on, after all.
The population is quickly sorted by attending Initiate employees according to who volunteers to fight and who volunteers to protect, along with those with enough skill to access the computers, and those with enough skill to get them there. The fighters move out first, off to intercept the early UE's ships and ground troops, and to draw the automated defense systems of the facility alike. They'll be in a crossfire, and neither side will be happy to see them there.
The techies and their escorts are sent out far more quietly, in groups of three. Their task is to sneak past the front lines and into the facility itself. There might be alarms and automated defense drones, so those escorts may well be called on to earn their keep. The Initiative can't give any information about which building will house the AI's mainframe, that information was long since lost to history. All they can do is send out enough people to hope that one of them manages to find it.
And remember — as soon as the UE troops withdraw, there will only be minutes until the bomb drops. Everyone would do well to work fast.
[[ Mission information is here, and the techie/escort teams, along with their hacking results, are here. Each techie/escort group will have their own established thread, but Team Distraction and Team We'll Stay Here, Thanks are welcome to thread where ever and however they like! The newbie log that goes up on the 1st will also encompass the arrival back in Exsilium, if you'd like to play that out as well. ]]

He eyes the stretch up ahead and tucks his spare line away in his utility belt. In and out. ]
Ready to tip a few cows?

[That's a human term, which he's sure he's heard before, but he forgets the context. Sollux arches an eyebrow, but shrugs it off.]
Yeah, sure. I don't know how heavily guarded thith place will be, but with all the troopsth we have in here, it'th not like we'll thtay hidden for long. You both will need to be watching the door at all timesth.
SORRY FOR THE LATE
He also welcomes that he doesn't have to be the one doing all the hacking shit. That had never been his favorite pastime; not enough action involved for his taste. And although he's a fan of action he's not a big fan of killing, but he's brought a combat rifle this time despite that, recognizing the severity and urgency of all this. He's not alone this time, so... ]
It's gonna be fine. I can tell in advance if anyone's close.
[ Having a radar integrated in your HUD as well as the ability to see through walls can be useful at times. He loads and rechecks his rifle. ]

I’ve got a few ways to make sure they don’t get close.
I hope this is okay, I just needed a kind of layout for us to work from.
[Sollux says as he points towards a part of the large facility. The convenient storage boxes hide them from guard's eyes, but there's still two of them by the exit door they'll be using to get in.]
And ath much fun ath it would be for me to tholo thith whole quetht, you guysth will probably have more fun with the guardsth than I will.
Sounds good to me~
He shrugs. ]
Doubt it. Best if someone stays with the designated hacker, just in case. So...
[ He looks at Dick. The sentence basically continues like, ...either you go or I go, though I've got this nice big gun here and I don't have any qualms about using it. ]
Perfection! <3
I can get over the top before they even see me. [ He hefts one batarang, then flicks on his infrareds. Everything - everything - depends on this. ]
Once they're good and occupied you can get past them.
no subject
[Sollux ends it on a shrug, but then adjusts how he's sitting to be ready to sneak run to the door.]
Ready when you are.
no subject
A distraction's all fine and well but keep in mind they might attack us from behind later, possibly with backup. So I strongly suggest you make sure that they'll be staying down for at least a while.
[ It should be a fairly simple extraction mission, though Adam would vastly prefer doing this alone or at least having professionals with him. Can only hope this goes over well and that Sollux doesn't do something incredibly stupid. ]
Enough talking. You, [ he means Sollux ] make sure to stay close to me.

[ A silencer on the batarang clicks into place; he lobs it and holds his breath until he hears the soft clink of metal against metal. As soon as he knows the men heard it too; as soon as he watches their eyes move and their postures shift he’s off, a yellow dart slinging up onto the narrow platform just below the barricade. He’s exposed and wide open, and in a split second his lag time’s run out. One more batarang’s enough to knock the gun free from one, but the quicker guard is firing already, following him as he runs down the platform and makes a dive for the shadows down on the other side; the opposite side from the door. He can hear their feet pounding as they chase him, but rather than waste another batarang he makes a leap and a somersault, away from the building and towards another stack of unused containers. ]
You guys have gotta stop sleeping through Basic.
[ The models they’re using are something new, something different than anything he’s seen back home. Too fast to count the shots, too fast to keep dodging if he doesn’t take them out of the equation soon. He can’t quite see the door anymore, but he can buy them a little more time before he takes out the guards. ]
Come on, come on...
