MISSION: GET TO ZE CHOPPA

Date & Time: August 23rd, 2753 (OOCly forward-dated to the 1st)
Location: Uruguay National Defense HQ
Characters: All transports!
Summary: All transports are sent back to Uruguay to download a self-aware AI before it gets bombed out of existence by an early incarnation of the UE. Time distortion effects will be set right either on the way there or on the way back, according to player choice.
Warnings: violence, action movie tension, 3 terabytes of foot fetish porn.

The Transporter drops the entire transport population into what will quickly be established as Home Base, a mile from the vast, sprawling facility that is Uruguay's National Defense HQ. The low roar of helidrones moving above is pervasive, but the black ships can only be glimpsed here and there through the thick cover of trees overhead. If you keep calm and quiet, it's likely you won't be spotted. It's the UND HQ their attention is on, after all.

The population is quickly sorted by attending Initiate employees according to who volunteers to fight and who volunteers to protect, along with those with enough skill to access the computers, and those with enough skill to get them there. The fighters move out first, off to intercept the early UE's ships and ground troops, and to draw the automated defense systems of the facility alike. They'll be in a crossfire, and neither side will be happy to see them there.

The techies and their escorts are sent out far more quietly, in groups of three. Their task is to sneak past the front lines and into the facility itself. There might be alarms and automated defense drones, so those escorts may well be called on to earn their keep. The Initiative can't give any information about which building will house the AI's mainframe, that information was long since lost to history. All they can do is send out enough people to hope that one of them manages to find it.

And remember — as soon as the UE troops withdraw, there will only be minutes until the bomb drops. Everyone would do well to work fast.

[[ Mission information is here, and the techie/escort teams, along with their hacking results, are here. Each techie/escort group will have their own established thread, but Team Distraction and Team We'll Stay Here, Thanks are welcome to thread where ever and however they like! The newbie log that goes up on the 1st will also encompass the arrival back in Exsilium, if you'd like to play that out as well. ]]

[that's okay, she'll be waving and addressing her when she notices!]

Hi!
accidentalrebellion: (if you want more more)

[It's a vague sense of familiarity that causes her to turn for proper acknowledgement when she that voice coming from nearby. With the help of a visual confirmation, after a moment, she can place it as someone she'd met briefly some time ago. One of the strangers who'd approached her at the masquerade.

Although she doesn't quite understand why she's talking to her. Again.]

Hi. [Somewhat wary. Definitely lacking in the enthusiasm she'd received. Almost like there's half a question in there.]
ino: (Hopeful.)

[she catches on to the question. the smile doesn't leave, but she does tone down the perkiness a bit]

You look a little nervous. [her smile turns into something a little more reassuring] Don't worry, I'm sure things will turn out alright.
accidentalrebellion: (pound the alarm)

[personal profile] accidentalrebellion 2013-02-01 01:03 am (UTC)(link)
[Probably a good thing. Extreme perkiness like that tends to provoke Effie flashbacks. Effie who, even if she'd always meant well, had a tendency of being very hard to take.

There's something kind about the smile, but she doesn't return it. Instead, she lets an eye wander back out toward the distance.]

I don't care about the mission. [That much is true.]
ino: (Phew!)

[personal profile] ino 2013-02-01 01:04 am (UTC)(link)
[that's ... actually relieving to hear, and she'll relax a little]

Oh, good, you're not one of those people who are all about fighting for the Initiative and all that crap?
accidentalrebellion: (let's go get a wave)

[personal profile] accidentalrebellion 2013-02-01 01:17 am (UTC)(link)
[Whatever she'd been expecting to hear? It wasn't that. Not by a longshot. So she's surprised, definitely. Maybe a little more receptive, in spite of herself.

And on second thought, she'll turn her gaze (and attention) back.]

They haven't given us much of a reason to be.
ino: (Yeah whatever.)

[personal profile] ino 2013-02-01 06:16 am (UTC)(link)
Oh, you don't have to tell me that. Just the idiots who've pledged their undying loyalty to them for no reason.

[SIGHS.]

But it's probably a good idea for me to be here, anyways. Just in case anyone gets hurt.
accidentalrebellion: (so if you need a hit)

[personal profile] accidentalrebellion 2013-02-08 04:38 am (UTC)(link)
[Item number two on a list of things that (unexpectedly) catch her attention. Because that's an area she herself is useless in, things that are better left to her mother and Prim.]

You're a healer?
ino: (Better vision.)

[personal profile] ino 2013-02-08 05:00 am (UTC)(link)
Yep! [she'll move to crack her knuckles briefly] At home I work as a medic on the battlefield. I'm not a full-fledged doctor or anything, but I can fix up a stab wound like -- [snaps her fingers] that.
