MISSION: GET TO ZE CHOPPA
Date & Time: August 23rd, 2753 (OOCly forward-dated to the 1st)
Location: Uruguay National Defense HQ
Characters: All transports!
Summary: All transports are sent back to Uruguay to download a self-aware AI before it gets bombed out of existence by an early incarnation of the UE. Time distortion effects will be set right either on the way there or on the way back, according to player choice.
Warnings: violence, action movie tension, 3 terabytes of foot fetish porn.
The Transporter drops the entire transport population into what will quickly be established as Home Base, a mile from the vast, sprawling facility that is Uruguay's National Defense HQ. The low roar of helidrones moving above is pervasive, but the black ships can only be glimpsed here and there through the thick cover of trees overhead. If you keep calm and quiet, it's likely you won't be spotted. It's the UND HQ their attention is on, after all.
The population is quickly sorted by attending Initiate employees according to who volunteers to fight and who volunteers to protect, along with those with enough skill to access the computers, and those with enough skill to get them there. The fighters move out first, off to intercept the early UE's ships and ground troops, and to draw the automated defense systems of the facility alike. They'll be in a crossfire, and neither side will be happy to see them there.
The techies and their escorts are sent out far more quietly, in groups of three. Their task is to sneak past the front lines and into the facility itself. There might be alarms and automated defense drones, so those escorts may well be called on to earn their keep. The Initiative can't give any information about which building will house the AI's mainframe, that information was long since lost to history. All they can do is send out enough people to hope that one of them manages to find it.
And remember — as soon as the UE troops withdraw, there will only be minutes until the bomb drops. Everyone would do well to work fast.
[[ Mission information is here, and the techie/escort teams, along with their hacking results, are here. Each techie/escort group will have their own established thread, but Team Distraction and Team We'll Stay Here, Thanks are welcome to thread where ever and however they like! The newbie log that goes up on the 1st will also encompass the arrival back in Exsilium, if you'd like to play that out as well. ]]

After everything that's happened so far Shu couldn't help the fact that he felt afraid. He was scared of getting into some trouble and not being able to do a thing about it. It was actually quite clear by the expression he was making that he'd been terrified all this time.
But alas, all he could do was keep going forward and hoped this ended as quickly as possible. ]
no subject
He'd left the other two behind to scout the way ahead, relying on Elza to protect the frightened Shu.
After several minutes he finally returns to them, beckoning and speaking softly.]
The way ahead's clear, come on.
no subject
Movement ahead drew Elza's attention, and she momentarily tensed until the sound of footsteps was loud enough that she determined who it was. She subtly relaxed when Nathaniel appeared, and smirked in amusement at the beckoning. It wasn't something she'd usually allow, but she'd play along, for now.]
Don't worry, Kid. It will be over soon enough.
[Gesturing for Shu to go ahead of her, Elza took up the rear while Nathaniel took point.]
no subject
Understood.
[Elza made it quite obvious she wanted him to go ahead, so he did. Shu was impressed by how well the others were handling themselves during this. He thought they might be professionals at this thing.]
Pardon the sudden question, but are both of you used to these sort of missions?
[He addressed the other escorts behind him while running ahead.]
no subject
In a way...scouting and hunting are what I do best. I've seen my share of battles, but I can't recall ever having been an escort before.
no subject
I'm trained for any type of situation.
[Ooc: sorry for thr short reply. I'm between flights atm and sneaking net before boarding]
no subject
Both of you are amazing. You can stand in this situation without even being afraid. Aren't you worried that something might go wrong?
no subject
Given the Initiative's track record I expect something to go wrong. Which is why we're being cautious.
It did, thanks! :D
You have to learn to get used to expecting the unexpected, kid. Too much fear will just get you killed.
no subject
Will it be okay if we stick together on this?
no subject
It should be fine. [He does his best to sound reassuring.] We're almost at the facility--it should be easier from there.
[Provided Nathaniel and Elza can take any guards on duty by surprise and take them down swiftly.]
no subject
I suppose that this is my cue, hmm?
[With a passing glance, she smirked at the pair before moving beyond the walls. Elza had only taken a few steps beyond it before she seemed to simply disappear from existence as her presence melded in with the shadows. She wasn't a Knight Class assassin for nothing, after all, even if her companions had no clue to what she truly was.]
[ooc: I can have her go on ahead and take out some guards on duty. Did you want to have Nathaniel take out the guards at the door, or the guards patrolling? I'll have Elza take out whichever one you don't pick! :D ]
no subject
[He nodded firmly. In all honesty, Shu had already been involved in many missions back home. However, he was never good at them. Shu didn't know anything about the people he'd teamed up with. Despite that he wanted them to be out of harms way. ]
I'm just thinking that maybe something's wrong. It's going too smoothly, isn't it? What if it's a trap?
[He said that yet he kept going forward.]
no subject
It isn't as if we have much choice, we need to get this completed as quickly as possible.
[If it was a trap, they'd take care of it--that's why there were two escorts for each person with technical knowledge.]
