MISSION: GET TO ZE CHOPPA

Characters: All transports!
Summary: All transports are sent back to Uruguay to download a self-aware AI before it gets bombed out of existence by an early incarnation of the UE. Time distortion effects will be set right either on the way there or on the way back, according to player choice.
Warnings: violence, action movie tension, 3 terabytes of foot fetish porn.

The Transporter drops the entire transport population into what will quickly be established as Home Base, a mile from the vast, sprawling facility that is Uruguay's National Defense HQ. The low roar of helidrones moving above is pervasive, but the black ships can only be glimpsed here and there through the thick cover of trees overhead. If you keep calm and quiet, it's likely you won't be spotted. It's the UND HQ their attention is on, after all.

The population is quickly sorted by attending Initiate employees according to who volunteers to fight and who volunteers to protect, along with those with enough skill to access the computers, and those with enough skill to get them there. The fighters move out first, off to intercept the early UE's ships and ground troops, and to draw the automated defense systems of the facility alike. They'll be in a crossfire, and neither side will be happy to see them there.

The techies and their escorts are sent out far more quietly, in groups of three. Their task is to sneak past the front lines and into the facility itself. There might be alarms and automated defense drones, so those escorts may well be called on to earn their keep. The Initiative can't give any information about which building will house the AI's mainframe, that information was long since lost to history. All they can do is send out enough people to hope that one of them manages to find it.

And remember — as soon as the UE troops withdraw, there will only be minutes until the bomb drops. Everyone would do well to work fast.

That's alright, you can have him!

[Yosuke sees the knives without understanding the shield, and does a funny sort of cringe, while trying to shakily block one. Naturally, it never lands. He gives an appreciative nod, and fixes his posture.]

Hey, not bad. I wish I could do that one.

[wilder]

If you say so!

[He'll lower the shield before swinging his sword to let several energy waves at the guy, since he doesn't want to leave the kid too far behind]

[And he'll laugh at his remark] Maybe if we both live, you can learn! [Since hey if magicless Lloyd can learn HOW HARD CAN IT BE?]

[His eyes definitely light up a bit at that, and he does an energetic dart forward to disarm someone. The guy promptly punches him. Yosuke is quick and agile, so it doesn't hit him in the face, but even a punch to the shoulder from a guy twice his size sends him to the ground with a pained grunt.

A pained grunt the dude returns when Yosuke pounds his foot with the butt of one kunai. He rolls out of kicking range just in time for the return attack not to land.]

Because...that would be...awesome!

Sure!

[He's not really sure why he offered. Isn't it better to stay out of everyone's business? ]

[At the same time, it's better not to see someone die-- ugh where did he get that logic? It sounds too much like that guy-]

[Whatever. Now's not the time to worry about it. He'll follow over and start taking on a guy that is running to help his ally- banging them hard in the face with his shield to stun them]

It's not hard to learn. And you'll probably need it if missions are like this!

[Yosuke makes a face and gives his sore shoulder an exaggerated rub.]

I'm Hanamura Yosuke, by the way.

Kaneis. A pleasure, Hanamura.

[He'll spin and give the person a kick to send him flying. He then takes the moment to breath]

How much longer do we have to distract these guys anyway?

[Woah, he should have paid better attention in that meeting. He'd kind of assumed that other people would be paying attention instead. He'd just been so excited to finally see some action again that he might have started daydreaming a bit.]

...There's a lot of explosions going on, if you haven't noticed.

Right...um. I guess there's going to be a better one? Or maybe some kind of signal...

Watch my back, will ya? Maybe the tablet will have the mission info.

Yeah, sure.

[Probably a bit too enthusiastic, but hey. Battle is kind of a game to this kid at the moment, so he's planning to enjoy it!]

[He'll give the kid a raised eyebrow at the over enthusiasm at getting the "protect the dude' quest, but he makes no remark. Instead he's loading up the tablet to look for that info. Try to make sure he doesn't die, yosuke! ]

[Not as cool as 'save the princess,' but better than nothing, dude. He throws a few little microbursts of wind at would-be assailants, who probably have much better weapons and yet are blown over. Quite literally.]

Anything?

[give him a moment and...!]

Got it! It's when the troops withdrawal. Gotta get out of here before the explosion.

Yeah. Glad I checked!

[And he'll put that tablet away and pull out his weapon again with intent to fight more]

I think we would have noticed a retreat anyway.

[But Yosuke cheerfully brandishes his kunai again anyway. Hey, it's not time to retreat yet!]

Aha, I guess. Still, we'll only get a couple minutes to get out once they do- so don't get too distracted!

[Sheesh so violent. But Zelos lunges at a soldier who was trying to attack, moving to take him down]

[Hey, how often do you get to play in real life video game scenarios? It's fun!

Except OW, what the hell was that? Did someone just throw a rock? Yosuke hisses and holds his side, but at least it didn't hit his fa-

Ow, damn it! His nose! Try to ignore the ugly screech, dude. That's a lot of blood. And it really smarts!]

[He turns when he hears that screaming and turns- what the hell?!]

Where are they coming from?!

[Yosuke makes a vague, frustrated gesture in the relative direction, but he's too busy trying to stop the blood that's gushing out of his face. He's so dazed by the impact and the blood that it takes him a few moments to remember to call for Juraiya and heal himself again.

Once he does, he wipes his bloody hands off on his bloody shirt and grimaces. Man, that totally sucked. But it's probably better than getting impaled with a bayonet or something.]

Now I'm pissed. That jerk is going down!

[He will never not find that Ninja Disco Frog weird...]

[But seeing that the kid is okay without his healing, he'll nod]

Hm, just keep your wits about you.

[Speaking of which, another trooper decided to try to take their moment distraction to attack them with a electric rod from behind. But before they can get in a swing, Zelos suddenly turns and with a single swing? Cuts them down]

[Okay. That definitely shuts him up. Yosuke gapes a little. Did he just...? Holy crap.

In the long moment he's distracted and staring, another rock catches him off guard. This time right smack to the back of the head. A comical look of surprise crosses his face for a millisecond, then his eyes roll up and he hits the ground face down.

...He's fine. Really. This happens all the time. It can't be avoided when you're in the habit of taking the really bad blows for your leader, ya know?]

[Annnnnnd it's Zelos's turn to gape for a second. Did the kid really just get hit by a rock and pass out? Is this real life? ]

Aw jeez- seriously!?

[But well guess he can't leave him out here to die. He'll throw a wind spell at the direction fo the rock thrower to throw them off, before picking up the kid (like a sack of potatoes!) with the intention of getting him OFF the battlefield]

[Luckily Yosuke isn't a big guy, so he's a skinny teenager of a burden as opposed to a full grown, well filled out man.

Not as luckily, he starts to groan after a few minutes and puts up a weak, confused sort of struggle. Hey, he has no idea what's going on here, but he remembers being in the midst of battle not long ago.]
