MISSION: GET TO ZE CHOPPA
Date & Time: August 23rd, 2753 (OOCly forward-dated to the 1st)
Location: Uruguay National Defense HQ
Characters: All transports!
Summary: All transports are sent back to Uruguay to download a self-aware AI before it gets bombed out of existence by an early incarnation of the UE. Time distortion effects will be set right either on the way there or on the way back, according to player choice.
Warnings: violence, action movie tension, 3 terabytes of foot fetish porn.
The Transporter drops the entire transport population into what will quickly be established as Home Base, a mile from the vast, sprawling facility that is Uruguay's National Defense HQ. The low roar of helidrones moving above is pervasive, but the black ships can only be glimpsed here and there through the thick cover of trees overhead. If you keep calm and quiet, it's likely you won't be spotted. It's the UND HQ their attention is on, after all.
The population is quickly sorted by attending Initiate employees according to who volunteers to fight and who volunteers to protect, along with those with enough skill to access the computers, and those with enough skill to get them there. The fighters move out first, off to intercept the early UE's ships and ground troops, and to draw the automated defense systems of the facility alike. They'll be in a crossfire, and neither side will be happy to see them there.
The techies and their escorts are sent out far more quietly, in groups of three. Their task is to sneak past the front lines and into the facility itself. There might be alarms and automated defense drones, so those escorts may well be called on to earn their keep. The Initiative can't give any information about which building will house the AI's mainframe, that information was long since lost to history. All they can do is send out enough people to hope that one of them manages to find it.
And remember — as soon as the UE troops withdraw, there will only be minutes until the bomb drops. Everyone would do well to work fast.
[[ Mission information is here, and the techie/escort teams, along with their hacking results, are here. Each techie/escort group will have their own established thread, but Team Distraction and Team We'll Stay Here, Thanks are welcome to thread where ever and however they like! The newbie log that goes up on the 1st will also encompass the arrival back in Exsilium, if you'd like to play that out as well. ]]

Ta-da.
[Chainsaw!]
no subject
H, hey! Be careful with that! [ Sayaka she did warn you... ]
no subject
no subject
Why the heck do you have a chainsaw, anyway? Isn't that hard to use? [ says the girl who uses swords totally practical ]
no subject
[OK back to lipstick! No more reaching. But now in her other hand is eyeshadow.]
no subject
[ a magical girl anime actually KANAYA ARE YOU SURE YOU'RE NOT ONE?? ]
no subject
What's anime. Is it like a comic?
Trust me, such technological marvels as this were common on Alternia.
no subject
... Kind of, I guess. If I can find some DVDs, I'll show you when we get back. [ There was a lot of junk in some of those smaller stores, after all. There might be something if she's lucky. ] But your [ planet? ] home must be pretty advanced to have stuff like that.
omg can they actually watch magical girl anime or something later... [SHINY EYES]
Yeah. It kind of was. [Trying to soften now.] You're intelligent to realize that. Like the Initiative; my lipstick was from home, but they had this gun in the armory for me. [Eyeshadow. Shotgun. Eyeshadow.]
THAT WOULD BE P AWESOME once sayaka gets over being depressed and shit
Ah, yeah. People keep talking about getting weapons... [ Why didn't she get one!! Randomly waking up in a strange bed has certain disadvantages. ] I mean, I don't really need one, but it's weird that they'd skip some people.
[ look maybe other people would have noticed they do have one by now but she's dumb ]
MAYBE THIS CAN CHEER HER UP and Kan learning humans believe in power of friendship will be good NEJ
[She puts her makeup away and then quietly begins to steer one kid away from Sayaka's cape with hands on shoulders.]
just give her like two weeks to stop sitting in her room avoiding everyone oops
I think Kanaya will inbox text her; what if she sent it post-event and then got ignored until days l
This isn't the Initiative's work. It's the United Earth's sabotage of our return.
she would get to it... eventually... a long-delayed text message while she frowns bitterly
[ Yes, Sayaka, but the bad guys tend to do bad things. ]
There's gotta be a way to fix it. I don't think anything's really changed for me, but it could be bad for some other people.
What if I just left the starter and you like Sayaka could reply hours later lmao
I think this mission is supposed to help fix things. Some were restored to themselves just by our passage through time. Lelouch, for instance, he was... [human years...] Ten, before he left, but now he was even able to go as one of the technologists.
gross by which i mean go for it
Seriously? [ That's someone she actually knows SUDDENLY THIS IS EVEN STRANGER ] You mean he wasn't a kid when he got here? That's totally nuts!
[ yes Sayaka we've been over this ]
It's happened man
[She certainly won't criticize the cape for sure.]
Take it out on the United Earth.
where doing it man
no subject
It was only just now on the mission. Nobody's selves were fixed during the whole...
I'm going to assume you remember two weeks of being a Transport. However long, nobody during that whole period.
no subject
Yeah, I remember that. [ She'd woken up in a strange bed confused as all hell, but some people had helped explain things. That's when the confusion started. ] So... maybe this weird time travel stuff is fixing it? I don't really feel any different, though.
no subject
[She doesn't know Sayaka well enough to be sure of how she's different aside from having forgotten Exsilium until now, other than perhaps being slightly happier.
A kid has probably curled up on the floor and begun to sleep.]
no subject
They must feel pretty safe to sleep in a place like this, huh? [ +1 AWESOME POINTS TO ALIEN AND MEGUCA Kanaya you are getting a friendly shoulderpat after she stands back up. ] I guess we make a good team.
no subject
I think we do. [Looking down at the kid from up here and sighing. Thumb being placed in mouth. So cute.] I love watching people sleep. [Hahaha plz not to be reading too deep into that] They're so peaceful.
no subject
... Yeah, they are. [ no Sayaka give the weird alien person the benefit of the doubt she probably didn't mean it like that ] Just don't go breaking into rooms or anything, okay? That's not really normal for [ pause ] humans.
[ at least she said it as a joke. mostly. ]
no subject
[Very fang-visible smile.
She said nothing about looking through windows.]
