Location: The catacombs which look cool if you forgot (cool is important)
Characters: Kido, Kano and anyone who wants to stop by for a gang meeting! You're free to assume your character was spoken to if you want, too. Handwaving the recruiting is cool with us. Or your character can just happen across them?? Whatever works!
Summary: Kido and Kano have been recruiting for their gang, the Mekakushi Dan, and now is the meeting. Feel free to mingle! Become a gang family.
NOTE! They would also inform characters to stick around for the evening meeting if they want to hear something more serious.
Warnings: Uhmmm none that I can think of!



Morning Option:
[The morning is the most relaxed. Kido and Kano have a lot of work to do when it comes to cleaning up the catacombs! Of course, they had to pick a larger area not too far in, away from the sewer areas so it isn't as damp and gross. It's still cold, though. They put up arrows so no one would get lost even though it doesn't take much to find the area.

There aren't chairs or anything like that to sit in but bricks and old rocks are being cleaned up to make sitting space. Also, there's soda and various snacks sitting on a particularly large rock.

Come help if you want and possibly get some early information out of them!]

Afternoon Option:
[After running around, chatting with all the newcomers Kano's decided to speak up. Now's an excellent time to get down to business! He's hopped onto one of the rocks to elevate himself (being short is hard) and shouts:]

Hey, hey! [He waves his hand rapidly in the air.] Ah, first--thanks for coming, everyone! We wouldn't have known what to do with all these snacks if you guys didn't show up.

I'm kidding, I'm kidding! But really, we appreciate your interest. Let me explain what we plan to do!

When most of us arrived we were a little overwhelmed. I knew I was. Being dropped into another world is a pretty heavy experience, right? Some of us weren't sure where to go or who to turn to! It's a very disheartening way to begin a new life. [Kano snaps his fingers.] So! We, the Mekakushi Dan, will help those new transports!

Whether it's through food or clothes or even umbrellas, we'll lend them a helping hand and show them that we care. We'll be the welcoming committee that Exsilium doesn't have, the newbies' unofficial family! With your help, we'll help them settle in and ease into their lives here.

We're open to ideas, so if you have any... feel free to shout them out!

Evening Option:
[By the time things wind down and it's getting dark, Kido steps up. She's perfectly at ease with this part of things. When she speaks, it's in her usual gruff but serious tone.]

...I don't know how much you guys know about the Initiative but they aren't praiseworthy. It's a war, so no one is clean, but they haven't treated us the best. It isn't just this. I've been looking into the network and past posts. I'm not going to tell you what to think or how to act towards them, though.

[She shoves her hands into her hoodie pocket.] What I'm saying is that I'm putting us first. We need to keep an eye on anyone that might threaten us, that might use us or hurt us. So, if you want to help with that or you're interested in looking closer at these Initiative people and the ones they're fighting, we'd appreciate the help.

It's your call. If you only want to be part of the community help, that's fine. But you know at least what Kano and I are going to be doing. We'll keep you updated if you want, too. We're going to keep you guys safe as best as we can from anything.

[Kano's being annoying, as usual. Whether you're with yourself or chatting with someone, he'll pop right up beside you with an unsettling smirk, chin cupped in his hands as he listens and watches you. Eavesdropping? Stalking? Maybe just a little.]

[Ringo had arrived a little after noon, mostly because she didn't want to be there too early and have to endure another round of Kano's Silly Compliments before she was ready.

Before she was ready being before she's had lunch, but-- Kano, why are you staring at her like that suddenly when she's trying to eat some of these delicious snacks.]

That's not polite.

[The smirk stays on his face as he tilts his head, taking on a totally innocent tone.]

Eh? Not polite? No, no, I'm just enjoying myself. I'm not doing anything at all.

[So Kanaya shows at 5 o'clock, lighting up the catacombs, and with Kano's gregarious nature she can hear people addressing him by name fairly quickly. Within ten minutes she approaches Kano at a conversational lull and makes a mock bow (though it is a Western-style one, with a flourishing arm, rather than the Eastern style). Her lips and eyes are covered in makeup the same color as her jade text.]

Your Honorary Lamp has arrived.]

[The glowing certainly attracts his attention! He turns around as she approaches, a curious expression on his face, as if to say Whoa what do we have here! When he recognizes her as a troll--and when she introduces herself--Kano gives a big grin and throws open his arms.]

Amazing! You weren't kidding when you said you could glow! That really is something!

General, Afternoon or Evening!

[Kido is fine with acting like a leader but it doesn't make the best for socialising, so she tries her usual approach.]

Oi.

[It looks like an invitation to talk?]

[It was actually by chance that Nepeta ended up here. The catacombs were not a place that she had visited before, and well. As the stereotype went, she was indeed a curious cat. She doesn't seem to perturbed by the surroundings, or being hailed and in facts smiles with Kido does.]

[Kido doesn't recognise her but she doesn't recognise most people. She does, however, think Nepeta's helmet is really, really cute.]

Oh, uh... hey. I'm Kido. Did you come for the meeting, too?

[It was fine to hear her speech and listen to the bits of discussion that had sparked between the others that had stayed later in the day, but Ringo did prefer something more one on one from the source.]

Hey! [A beat, enough to smile.] I really like what you said up there, I think it's a good approach.

[Kido is pretty scary serious when she's a leader-type, but through Kano's assurances of her being a very sweet girl beneath that attitude Hilbert is very confident he can charm his way into her heart.

Maybe. If she really was like a girl Cheren, it would take much more than some kind words. Like taking a few punches. So after her speech and all he's good to go! Pumped himself up and told himself there's nothing to worry about! After all, he won the bet.]

Kano was seriously right about you! You're really kind-hearted, wanting to look after all these people you don't know, even if you've got this tough girl exterior. Want to get dinner?

[Hoping to get there before things got too busy (she has no idea just how many people intend to show up for this thing), Nill decided showing up early would probably be for the best. She's still undecided on this whole thing, and mostly just wants to get a feel for the group and what they plan to do.

She mostly intends to talk to Kido and Kano, but she won't object to speaking with someone else as well]

[Kano's busy doing his part of the clean-up when he notices someone approaching--hey! It's the angel girl! He waves a hand, beaming.]

Hello, hello! Glad you could make it!

[She smiles slightly at her. She doesn't recognise her but anyone is welcome.]

Hey. Sorry we don't have anything great set up yet.

MORNING/EVENING

[Kariya's in his usual role: an odd shadow in the corner, drifting in and out throughout the day. He's here for the same general purpose as everyone else, but he's definitely a little out of place.

Early in the morning, though, he's resting quietly on a rock with his eye closed -- posture slumped, breathing shallow. There's probably dew on his clothes, maybe a stray spider...

He's a little more cleaned up by evening, his face with a little more color in it, but still definitely lurking the edges. You might not even see him this time -- he spends some time wandering in the darker tunnels leading off the meeting area, stopping to cough occasionally but mostly ambling about like a sleepwalker. You might also hear weird, unsettling noises in the darkness like something large and busy is moving. Don't get spooked!]

[With Kido handling the evening meeting, Kano's allowed a little more freedom to wander about. He noticed Kariya walking off on his own--and he's admittedly curious as to where the guy's going. So he follows him, masking himself with his illusions as he does so. Force of habit.

He dismissed the noises as just a trick of the catacombs--but the further they go, the more unsettling it comes. He sticks to his guns solely because of curiosity. He has to know what this guy's deal is!!]

[Judal is at this meeting, yes, but he's already bored. Why had Kougyoku invited him to this again? He can't remember right now, so he's looking for a distraction.

Do you know what's a good distraction for people like Judal? People like Kariya. And of course it's mid-morning, because Judal lives for nothing if not to be an incredible pest.]

Oh, look who it is!

[He swings an arm around the man, nearly knocking their heads together with the force, and lifts his other hand to wave at a girl some feet away.]

Hey, Kougyoku, get over here! I'm gonna introduce you to someone.

[Hilda's a little sorry she didn't get to help out setting up, but she was -- er -- busy, with some things. Like an early dinner (more like lunch, really) with Hilbert.

But she listens to Kido's spiel with an open mind. Especially the use part. Victini, safely at her unit and tucked in for a long nap thanks to a major crash from sugar over the past three days, is a force that could be used and abused if its rumor - its legend? - were to be found out by the Initiative... or the Transports, even.

Properly paranoid, even if Hilbert had attempted to alley her fears. Hidla is definitely tenser tonight, mulling over what's been said; she isn't a happy camper, by any means.

Hell, she's not even partaking in what snacks might be left over. There's news.]

[Kido can't help noticing Hilda isn't feeling so great. She seemed pretty sturdy when Kido met her. Maybe she came on too strong? She's not used to talking to other people like that so she should consider that.

She approaches her, not wanting to spook her out of her thoughts.]

Sorry if it sounded a little strange. They were just my thoughts. It's better to look into things and decide yourself.

Morning

[Well, he can't admit he's not curious about the group ever since seeing that post on the Network, and really, being a bit too slow at times, he realized that he's waaay too early to the meeting, which would be why he's just wandering around the area currently, before noticing either one of them doing work.

It didn't take him long to approach them and say:]

Uh, excuse me, but do you mind if I help?

[Kano's cleaning up one of the areas cluttered with rubble and all other unpleasant stuff. When the guy comes up to him, Kano looks over him and flashes a cheerful smile.]

No, no, not at all! We're cleaning this place up. I think... ah, yes. [He points behind Shirou, to where an extra shovel rests.] Grab one and join in the fun! Heh.

A - late afternoon

[At around 5 o'clock, just after the sun sets, an alien girl slips into the catacombs - and they brighten up when that happens. She's got green makeup on her lips and eyes, orange horns, and her entire skin is permeated with a bright white glow, the last being what causes the effect.]

I'm going to have to think about this... I'm not sure about committing to formal membership yet, but if you want any help designing uniforms, let me know - though this late in the month, my personal account doesn't have the financial resources for it.

B - for Kido

[Some time later on after her arrival she successfully identifies Kido Tsubomi, and approaches her at a moment when nobody else is talking to the girl.]

Hey. It's me, Kanaya... this is a larger turnout than I anticipated.

C - evening

[After listening to the speech silently and politely, the glowing alien girl steps forward.]

I know some of you haven't been here long enough to see the war - but just because we're under the control of the Initiative and they've had their problems doesn't mean we're secretly the unwitting pawns of villains. The traumatic temporal distortions many Transports experienced returning from our last mission - that was our punishment from the United Earth. The bombing damage on many of the buildings that was fixed a few months ago; also the United Earth.

I've been here for over four... [Earth] months. That's not the entire time the Initiative has been operating, and I know there are past mishaps for which I wasn't present - I'm not at all opposed to our leaders' plans to gather more information. But I would like to offer myself as a source.

[She smiles a little wider once she knows who it is.]

Me too. I'm glad though. I wasn't sure how it'd go. Thanks for coming, too.

[Kanaya is a hard to miss person, so of course Nepeta notices her the moment she comes in. While Nepeta hadn't come in here knowing there was a meeting going on, she had been intrigued by what they were doing.

She's a bit surprised to see the rainbow drinker here, but pleasantly so]

Sokka wasn't in game until March, so consider this an addendum

[ Sokka is wandering. It's mid-morning and the catacombs are an interesting bit of exploring that call to the young man. He's surprised, poking around the tunnels, to find arrows leading him somewhere. He'd heard there was a gang or something using the tunnels when he'd run into some locals near the entrance and this seemed like it might just be that group. He pokes out into the open area that looks as if it's been arranged for meetings. ]

Hello?

[As Sokka draws near to the meeting area, he might hear voices squabbling. One of these voices is Kano's, loud and carefree and... really obnoxious right now as he doubles over in laughter. He doesn't notice him yet, since he's too busy giggling.]
