[He's not letting go, either. Although, now that he can almost make out a silhouette other than some amorphous flapping thing...]

I'm helping by inspiring fear! [Maya that makes no sense.]

[Anyway, she's squirming and trying to get free]

[This gives him a moment's pause. If she is the same girl he's thinking of, she was in a pretty bad state when he saw her before, and she comes across as fairly young - kids will be kids, right?

...But that doesn't mean they have to be kids at him, so after a couple of seconds he resumes his none too gentle tugging at the ghostskin, this time with both hands.]

Really? 'Cause you sound familiar, but come to think of it, I don't remember meeting any other idiots with sheets over their heads.

[Maya valiantly wriggles in a futile attempt to get free of him, but alas, off goes the ghostskin and she's left exposed and effectively, busted.]

I'm not an idiot, I was just having a little fun! Did you get beaten up by a ghost as a kid or something?

[Hell yes, free sheet! And maybe she'll take a life lesson away from it, which was definitely the point of trying to pull it off her in the first place. He slings it over his shoulder.]

Is that really the kind of question you want to go around asking people here? For all you know, I could've been.

[Although obviously he wasn't, because obviously ghosts aren't real and talking to the dead is a ridiculous idea.]

[But her last remark cuts his lecture short. Fortunately, in the dark, nobody can see him flush faintly red.]
