[Finally calling out hesitantly]
Allen...? Did you try to eat something you weren't supposed to?
[A pause and oh, no response? He didn't hear Allen's body thud to the ground dead- so he's gonna assume he's out.]
[Welp.]
in an elevator; open
with a violent shudder, the elevator comes to an abrupt halt between floors, at the same moment every light blinks off. Is it supposed to do that.
Allen's pretty sure it isn't, oh my god. He clutches the railing and stares unseeing at the panel where the buttons had been lit up a second ago.]
Wh— what happened!
[HELP...
Who else is stuck in here with him?]
no subject
Then the elevator stops.
Kratos lets out a fairly annoyed sigh. Just how crappy can his luck be? Shame Allen can't see his face because it looks something like 8| this... Wait, that's pretty normal, actually.]
By the looks of it, either the elevator malfunctioned or the power went out.

My friend, we just experienced some major technical difficulties.
( She taps her fingers on her arm rest, then laughs. )
Geez, they could have had a back-up generator like any normal place would!

[Dammit, all Ed wanted was to take a shower and fall asleep in a bed now that he's finally back in a place he can find those things! Was that so wrong?!]
Useless piece of...
[Frustrated, he thumps the back of his fist against where he remembers the panel to be. Of course, in the dark, there's no guarantee that the panel is what he'll actually hit.]

Little to no noise comes from her end. It would ruin the surprise for anyone close by if they heard someone else approaching, after all. Ruining surprises simply isn't nice! The probability of Lacie running into someone? 100%.]

So it's no surprise that his night vision has improved, even if only having one eye to view with rather makes up the difference.
As such, he can easily sense the movement in the dark. The hard part is actually moving fast enough to avoid it -- he's considerably less limber than most of the people here, so he can only try to edge off to the side instead of leaving it to a head-on collision.]
... Ah, excuse me.
[Braced as he was, he also manages not to fall over: another far too well-honed skill of his.]

Welp time to use fire magic as a means to move around, apparently. And possibly get out of here and get something else done. So Sol is on his way out of the building, and you might be able to make out the flame that he's currently ignited on his fingertip as he strides along, the shadows from the flame ... well, they may not be giving him the best impression to passerby, even though honestly by this point he really doesn't give a shit.]

He's clean shaven on half his face, while the other half still has two days worth of beard. Probably because of the power outage.

Phoenix's main concerns right now are 1) Edgeworth is afraid the dark and 2) Maya is going to trip on something. He's making his way through the housing building for their rooms when, out of nowhere, he hears something rustle and then a voice yelling from behind him.
His first reaction is to yelp and jump forward because what if it's going to hit him with a fire extinguisher he has experience in this type of thing and whip around to face his attacker when--]

But his boredom/melancholy/midlife crisis is interrupted by the sight of a familiar white-haired man with parasite-worm-things! Not that that's how he actually remembers Kariya, but that was the easiest description. He looks... tired, as usual, and Phoenix is pretty sure that the guy has been actively avoiding him. Not that he blames him after the last time they had an unwanted heart-to-heart... but he doesn't like being skirted around, so he does the next smartest thing:
He lies down on his stomach and waits until Kariya is closer before -- knowing there's nothing nearby for the guy to fall onto, grabs for his ankles and holds on tight!]

So he utterly does not expect the pile (of blankets? pillows? stuffed animals?) to have a hand, and he certainly doesn't expect the hand to grab him while he hobbles his way past. There's a small noise of surprise, a moment of decidedly frantic wobbling, and then he ends up sitting on the floor and blinking at--
Okay, so that's Phoenix, and that's a blanket fort, and he hadn't wanted to see Phoenix just yet and...]

She's squinting really hard and is obviously annoyed. Anyone who runs into her, trips on her or talks to her will most likely earn her wrath. There's a 50-50 chance of getting whipped. (Just as long as you're okay with it.) ]

[Just who she wanted to see, right? Jesse Pinkman comes creeping out of the darkness, face just barely illuminated by the tip of his lit cigarette. He keeps a good distance, leaning up against the wall, and tilts his head curiously to catch a glimpse of her papers.]

hallways, open
no subject
[This would all be much easier if he could use his power in public, but he can't. He doesn't dare to show his fire when he has various reasons to keep it a secret.
He sees no reason to stay seated in the dark, waiting for the power to come back. Maybe he can get some work done elsewhere. So he moves through the hallway in the dark, headed for the exit. He's walking carefully, but that's no guarantee he won't run into someone...
Afterward, he stands outside, looking up at the building. He would try to help, but he isn't sure where he'd begin. He's a judge, not an electrician.]
B [Closed]:
[It's a slip, a mistake. He's walking through the hallway when he knocks into something, and he lets his frustration get the better of him. His fire comes forth from his eye, blue and bright. It's burns for just a moment, but it's not something he can hide in the darkness. For that moment, he might as well be a blue torch.
He freezes, pulling the fire back, stilling. In that flash of light, he'd clearly seen someone else.]
Hello?
B. \o/ Sorry for the delay haha school is a bitch
It makes him stagger back reflexively, one hand rising halfway; his footing is already precarious, so it's a good thing there's a wall there to catch him.
It's over too quickly for him to catch a good glimpse of the face, distracted as he'd been, and he doesn't recognize the voice, either. He would remember a fire magus, he's sure of it.]
... Sorry. It was -- that was an accident.
[Best to establish himself as a non-threat, regardless of how startled he is.]
It's cool, no worries!

OPEN . . . She'll easily wind up anywhere in the building. Pick a spot.
[But lights aren't supposed to suddenly go out like that, and this fact is what makes it interesting. Clearly, there's some malfunction somewhere, and she should find it and tinker with it.
[... Fix it, she means. Fix. She absolutely does not play with technology. Don't be ridiculous.
[So she gathers up a few tools, and rather than wandering the halls aimlessly like so many others seem to be doing, she'll be getting into vents and crawlspaces and the like. Clearly, this is a problem with the building's internal systems, so she needs to go internal.
[And she's not exactly quiet when going through these places; they're a tight fit sometimes, even for her, and she can easily be heard bumping about inside the walls, and possibly popping out in random apartments as she searches for the source of the problem.
[Surely you're not afraid of this small creature in the darkness, right folks?]
no subject
Starbuck is already painfully suspicious of this whole situation here and seeing this happen all over again is a flashback to the past she'd just as soon skip out on. But it worries her. And where the hell is Lee? She'll be racing over to his apartment, armed to the teeth, ASAP.
Not that she's worried about him or anything. Nope. Not at all.]no subject
Once he's roused, Lee is up immediately. He manages to pull on pants but doesn't bother with much else. Well, besides his gun. He grabs the loaded side arm from his nightstand and creeps out into the empty common room of his apartment space. His roommate has been scarce and this not the way he wants to meet her.
Just as he's positioning himself to make his way into the hallway, Kara's made it and is banging on the door. He suspects, and hopes, its Kara but just to be safe, he pulls the door open with his gun pointed squarely at the chest of whoever is waiting on the other side.]
