[May be misconstruing that gesture, but

--rrrreaches out and tentatively touches her fingers to Toph's wrist. It only takes two tries to get her aim right.

Microwave? I wouldn't mind going outside.

[Toph snatches her hand, as if to say, yes that's what I meant, silly or jeez, is it so hard to find someone's hand.]

Outside's this way, then.

[tugging her along, she drags her towards the stairs.]

My name's Toph.

T— oph!

[ Lenalee has very little experience in communicating with those significantly younger than she, so she's taking this at something of a disoriented arm's length. Literally, now, as it were... ]

You're. Awfully well-coordinated. [ sounds more curious than surprised; she is most familiar with Marie and how he'd coped with his blindness, and in the dim light, she thinks whatever Toph is wearing on her head might (in daylight) resemble the headphones he wore ] Have you been here long?

[nope, thats just her rad headband. with fluffy poofballs and everything!

Toph shrugs her shoulders as she leads her along, facing forward.

I dunno. I guess a couple of months, now. It's so boring around here that the days just... merge together, you know?

Months...

[Children should not be caged here.]

I wouldn't call it 'boring', but- [ toes catching on a dip in the floor, though she rebalances herself quick and light ] it is not what I'd expected when I was told of a war. The days do blur, a little.

[personal profile] barefootbender 2013-04-27 01:03 pm (UTC)(link)
This isn't a war at all.

[Toph says that with the confidence of someone who knows it first-hand. When she senses the door of the stairwell in front of her, she reaches out with her free hand and pushes it open. Ever seen a blind person expertly walk down stairs as if they were flat ground?]

I guess I should be happy, 'cause the war in my world ended right before I got here. So, it would be pretty boring in the same way even if I were back home, I guess...
