MISSION: RELEASE THEM BACK INTO THE WILD

Date & Time: April 27th - May 1st
Location: Wollongong, Australia, 2464.
Characters: All voluntary transports + maybe a few drafted ones.
Summary: Make those stay-at-homes leave their nerdcaves! My god, do they even know what sunshine looks like???

The city is old, dark, and very, very quiet. A good deal of the buildings are crumbling and old, but the ones that are actually inhabited glow like candles in the dusk the Transporter has dropped you into. All of these buildings are infested by wiring pouring in from every angle, ensuring that each inhabitant in his or her little block of a room has every modern convenience available in 2464.

There is no one on the streets, no public transportation, and even cars look scarce. But that doesn't mean there's no movement. Maintenance drones, controlled remotely, run deliveries or work repairs. Armed law enforcement drones patrol on rounds through the city, although their mechanized attention is mostly turned outward. Still, they might come to investigate a ruckus within the city limits. And if the persons causing the ruckus don't respond to peaceful attempts to get them to cease, the drones might attempt to subdue them with paralyzing technology and haul them in for a night in the city jail — another dark, unused place.

If you get hungry, there are entire warehouses dedicated to the production of foods. It can't be that hard to sneak in and collect a meal, right? Or you can hack into the system and order whatever you want, if you're good with that kind of thing. Or you can just scavenge—or fast for four days, maybe—if thieving and hacking aren't your style.

And somewhere around here, in those glowing, secluded towers, behind the legions of automated drones, live the reclusive citizens of Wollongong. The methods are up to you, as long as you can get them to come out and breathe the fresh air somehow.

I'm not that greedy! Ah, we might need some extra funds for future Dan activities... I'll probably be selling off most of what I bring back.

[He twirls the player in his hand.] If you see anything you like, you can take it.

[ A laugh. ] I didn't think you were! I just thought you might see a lot of items from your world that you would want to bring back. That's smart, though. Maybe I'll re-visit some of the warehouses I've been to and grab some stuff we can sell.

I actually have most of the stuff I wanted when we arrived, but thank you.

To be honest, I thought the future would have more impressive stuff. But the markets sell remarkably normal things! Still, still... taking things here is cheaper than buying it there.

[ She returns the thumbs up with a grin. ] Will do! And ice cream sounds great.

Are those the things you've got packed in your backpack? It wasn't too tough to avoid security, was it? [He's sure he can handle herself, and security isn't too bad here. Still, it's good to check up.]

Yep! I have a music player and some clothes. I know Kido was looking for a handheld console. And no, it wasn't too hard. I haven't come across any aggressive ones.

In that case, we could find games for it! [He grins.] Are you up for a bet?

[ She raises an eyebrow. ] Oh? And what would this bet entail?

It's an easy one, since you're a newbie~ It wouldn't be fair to make it too hard for you.

Whoever finds the most games by the end of the mission wins! No duplicates. The winner has dibs on the console for a week. Sound fair~?

[ She takes his hand firmly and shakes on it. ] Done. Good luck, Kano~

[ The white lie makes her puff her cheeks up before she rolls her eyes. ]

You'll change your mind when you're older, kid. Besides, a bet's no fun without stirring up some rivalry!

[ She stands up, dusting her shorts off. ] Check with me again in about five or so years on that. You can bet I'll be getting more games, though!

You definitely will be getting more, that's true, but I'll be getting the most!

Big words, Kano! [ She points fingers at her eyes and then at him. ] Big. words.

[He has a huge smirk on his face right now.] Yup! They're big and they're 100% true! Ah, I wouldn't blame you for feeling intimidated.

[ She is going to grab her water bottle and kick off into a glide, still glaring at him, but a smirk appears on her face as well. This is going to be fun. ] Bye, Kano~
