MISSION: RELEASE THEM BACK INTO THE WILD

Date & Time: April 27th - May 1st
Location: Wollongong, Australia, 2464.
Characters: All voluntary transports + maybe a few drafted ones.
Summary: Make those stay-at-homes leave their nerdcaves! My god, do they even know what sunshine looks like???
Warnings: none planned, will be updated accordingly!

The city is old, dark, and very, very quiet. A good deal of the buildings are crumbling and old, but the ones that are actually inhabited glow like candles in the dusk the Transporter has dropped you into. All of these buildings are infested by wiring pouring in from every angle, ensuring that each inhabitant in his or her little block of a room has every modern convenience available in 2464.

There is no one on the streets, no public transportation, and even cars look scarce. But that doesn't mean there's no movement. Maintenance drones, controlled remotely, run deliveries or work repairs. Armed law enforcement drones patrol on rounds through the city, although their mechanized attention is mostly turned outward. Still, they might come to investigate a ruckus within the city limits. And if the persons causing the ruckus don't respond to peaceful attempts to get them to cease, the drones might attempt to subdue them with paralyzing technology and haul them in for a night in the city jail — another dark, unused place.

If you get hungry, there are entire warehouses dedicated to the production of foods. It can't be that hard to sneak in and collect a meal, right? Or you can hack into the system and order whatever you want, if you're good with that kind of thing. Or you can just scavenge—or fast for four days, maybe—if thieving and hacking aren't your style.

And somewhere around here, in those glowing, secluded towers, behind the legions of automated drones, live the reclusive citizens of Wollongong. The methods are up to you, as long as you can get them to come out and breathe the fresh air somehow.

Yeah, they're pretty useful for a few things, actually, but technically toxic to people in large quantities .

Oh, yes, absolutely! Animals are great. I used to take care of a very special kind before coming here, but I like a lot of them.

[Kido welcomes the company really. She even smiles a little when Flora sits.]

I, uh... don't mind animals... [Which translates to she really, really loves them but it doesn't look cool.] What kind of animal did you take care of? Was it your pet?

I see that. _{[With regards to not "minding" animals.]} And oh, all sorts. I had a pet, yes! Before coming here, my friends and I ran a fairy pet store. They were all kinds of really adorable animals with little wings and could do a lot of tricks and other things.

_{[Her smile turns a bit wry, but fondly so.]} They could be a handful sometimes, but they were really charming and always there if ever you needed a cuddle and some love.

My friend really understands animals. I bet he'd even understand a fairy pet. Sorry to ask so much whenever we talk but... your world sounds really cool and different.

Yeah, we really did. _{[Flora can't help but look wistful, chuckling.]} It's strange getting up and not starting the day with music at full blast. I've forgotten how quiet it can be. _{[She doesn't miss yelling at Stella to please get out of the bathroom already, though. Much.]}

The pet store is actually on Earth! The thing about the pets, though, is that they'll love anyone, if you love them, too. They might have started as toys, but they aren't anymore. They're pretty clever, too. And well-behaved. _{[A beat, a wry grin.]} Mostly. I'm sure you'd be fine with one yourself, Kido.

_{[She can't help but miss Coco and hopes her cat is alright.]}

And hey, there's no need to apologize. I like talking to you.

[She smiles listening to it. Even though she was settled into their life back home, sometimes she listens to how others live and wonders if she shouldn't add more to their lives.]

Well, maybe one day I'll get a pet here. Not for me, you know. But Kano'd like the company... I could take care of it, too...

[She grins a little.] But if you miss music, we could fix that.

_{[Flora reaches over to gently pet the koala.]} You really like animals, don't you, Kido/

_{[She smiles curiously, tilting her head.]} Did you have something in mind about hte music?

[It's easy to tell these people have been shut-in a while since the koala doesn't mind the touch. Or maybe it's just a koala thing. Kido pointedly ignores the animal comment but the light flush on her cheeks is enough.]

Well, I still want to have a music club... And I want to learn guitar. And singing, too. The only singing I do is in the shower but I could get better, I think.

Shower singing is like a warm up before warming up! But really, I think you should, if you want to. I think one of cool things about this place is how many people are into music. I know I'd definitely join if you started one!

Yes, absolutely. _{[Flora moves to reach out and rest her hand on Kido's shoulder for a moment, smiling.]}

I did say I would, didn't I? The only I play though is the guitar. And sing!

[She's a little surprised to be touched but she doesn't mind.]

Hey, that works since it's what I want to learn. All my favourite songs use guitar.
