MISSION: RELEASE THEM BACK INTO THE WILD

Date & Time: April 27th - May 1st
Location: Wollongong, Australia, 2464.
Characters: All voluntary transports + maybe a few drafted ones.
Summary: Make those stay-at-homes leave their nerdcaves! My god, do they even know what sunshine looks like???

The city is old, dark, and very, very quiet. A good deal of the buildings are crumbling and old, but the ones that are actually inhabited glow like candles in the dusk the Transporter has dropped you into. All of these buildings are infested by wiring pouring in from every angle, ensuring that each inhabitant in his or her little block of a room has every modern convenience available in 2464.

There is no one on the streets, no public transportation, and even cars look scarce. But that doesn't mean there's no movement. Maintenance drones, controlled remotely, run deliveries or work repairs. Armed law enforcement drones patrol on rounds through the city, although their mechanized attention is mostly turned outward. Still, they might come to investigate a ruckus within the city limits. And if the persons causing the ruckus don't respond to peaceful attempts to get them to cease, the drones might attempt to subdue them with paralyzing technology and haul them in for a night in the city jail — another dark, unused place.

If you get hungry, there are entire warehouses dedicated to the production of foods. It can't be that hard to sneak in and collect a meal, right? Or you can hack into the system and order whatever you want, if you're good with that kind of thing. Or you can just scavenge—or fast for four days, maybe—if thieving and hacking aren't your style.

And somewhere around here, in those glowing, secluded towers, behind the legions of automated drones, live the reclusive citizens of Wollongong. The methods are up to you, as long as you can get them to come out and breathe the fresh air somehow.

[ She calls to the wolf. The lightning show is pretty so she wants to stick around to watch, so sue her. ]

[He'll watch for a moment, before turning to walk off again in the direction he was heading. Social, this one is.]

[ She's not put off by his attitude. Catching up quickly, she falls in behind him. ]

What did you get for a weapon? Is it your sword? Can I see it? Does it have a name?

[He'll sigh and pull out the sword. Despite it's green coloring? It looks like you can see through the blade part]

No, it doesn't have a name yet. [Just the ether sword]

[wolfchild]

[ zelos, what even is that face. ]

Why is it green?

Don't know. I think that's the color of it's material.

[ She holds her hands out for the hilt. ]

Can I try it?

[He'll offer her the sword ]

[ She takes it carefully. Months of caring for the dead have strengthened her arms and shoulders so she can keep it off the ground with relative ease. She does not test it as a swordsman would; she retains her mask, her grip on it incorrect.

She takes a few experimental swings, aiming it away from Zelos. She laughs. The girl returns it to him. ]

[He meanwhile watches, a bit nervously because hey inexperienced swordsgirl there. Though it is interesting she's strong enough to lift it. But he'll take it back and sheath it]

...I dunno, not killing me with my own sword?

[ Her face pinches in annoyance. ]

I am not stupid like those camel cunts around. Besides I've held them before. Some of the sellswords that came by the port would show me their swords. One had a greatsword so big he could only lift it with two hands. I couldn't lift it at all. He said he took it off a knight he killed in Westeros. [ Helpfully, she supplies: ] That's across the sea.

[Two handed sword huh? Wow, that's pretty overkill]

I never said it'd be out of stupidity.

[And he keeps walking!]

[ And she keeps pace. ]

So what did you mean?

You know such profane language but you can't figure out what I meant by that?

[ She shrugs. ]

Like an accident?

Or intentional, whatever.

Why would I want to kill you? You gonna try raping me?

[Great, the kid knows about that too. ]

It's just not unheard of in my world for kids your age to be killing for whatever reason. But if you aren't into that, then it's fine.

I don't—there was one. [ The lie she makes obvious, all childish bravado as she had seen other children on the streets do. ] But that was only because he grabbed me. I had a knife on me a Lyseni sailor gave me so I killed him. I got him right in the heart. And I'll do the same to anyone else. I'm not afraid. I know to take care of myself.

[ The direwolf behind her snorts. It almost sounds derisive. ]

Your wolf there seems to disagree.

[ She only walks a little straighter, chin raised. ]

She's a wolf. She can't disagree. Just like she can't agree.

[his roommate's pet is a ball with wings that seems to know when to wake people up and Sophie's rabbit turned out to be a zombie. He gives up making assumptions. ]
