(open) crash into me
Date & Time: Mid-afternoon Sunday, May 5th
Location: The Hold and Housing Complex
Characters: All who wish to be in the vicinity!
Summary: The Initiative asked for the Housing Complex to be evacuated starting early morning on 5/5, in preparation for the expected landing of the spaceship stolen from the United Earth. The landing goes horribly wrong when an undiscovered bomb detonates onboard the ship, causing partial engine failure. The ship proceeds to be crash landed into the Housing Complex; no lives, however, are lost.
Warnings: Spaceship crash landings it's all horrible!
Notes: Respond in action tags or prose, as you please!
The ship breaks cloud-cover as a spot of light in the dreary skies, leaving behind the beauty of sunlight above the broken cloud layer as it continues to descend. With the Initiative having instigated an evacuation of the area ahead of time, just in case, those watching in the light drizzle may find it an interesting sight to behold.
Doubtlessly, the United Earth, from its great distance, may have also found it interesting.
The first sign of something going wrong is an explosion visible from the ground. People who hear it might startle; the ship itself goes from a smooth, controlled flight path to one wobbly and filled with dark, flaming smoke. The whine of its remaining engine is slower to reach the ground, though the ship itself seems to pick up a spiraling speed, still controlled to those familiar with watching things that fly come crashing down to the ground.
The Initiative members on the ground are calling for people to get back and take cover. Inside the main Hold, one man at the transport pads hears his radio blast to life and swallows past his own fear, glancing at the active pad waiting to pull in another unlucky soul.
When the ship hits the Housing Complex, it demolishes the upper levels, though the force with which it hits doesn't seem to be the same as what it should be. Combined telekinetic buffering and excellent piloting from a former Guardian of theUniverse Galaxy keeps damage to a catastrophic minimum.
Welcome to the fallout. What will you do from here?

Welcome to the fallout. What will you do from here?
no subject
It is! Do you need help, are you hurt?
no subject
I am well enough.
[And he raises a brow. She certainly didn't look like any race he had met before. Thinking over her words, he must have misjudged when he first spoke.]
You're here to help, then?
[He looks past her, frowning. No sign of a little black cat. The ship looked like it hit the floor he had been assigned to...he could only hope that she wasn't caught in it.
Much as he often disliked other people, he did care about her.
And he would never admit it, but he would like to prevent any lives from being lost, here. He had no fondness for those that called this place home, but he was familiar enough with disasters and the like. Some part of him would always be the city guard, always wanting to protect who he could.]
I haven't seen anyone on the ground floor, save for those that are trying to clear debris. Will you be checking the upper floors?
no subject
[ She fidgets a little, eager to keep going. ]
Are you leaving? You probably should...
no subject
[He frowns, making a clicking sound with his mouth. Where was she?
He makes a move for the stairs, and then turns back to the girl, making a small motion with his hand, an arcane barrier shimmers into place around her.]
There. Mind that nothing falls on you on the way up, but this should help.
[And he's slowly making his way up the stairs, holding onto the guard railing to help himself make his way up.]
no subject
Okay! I'm Feferi, by the way.
no subject
Kirian.
[There's a half-meow, half chirp, and a black cat with large, amber eyes trots out from behind a corner, winding her way around Feferi's ankles and looking up at her. Kirian sighs, frowning at the cat, and then at the girl.]
There you are. You had me worried, Soot.
no subject
Are you the one we have been looking for? It's a good thing you're not hurt then, we may not have found you!
[ There's nothing wrong with talking to a cat, right? ]
no subject
Yes, fortunate that she is well, though...
[He bent at the waist, leaning over Soot and frowning.]
You worried me, you foolish creature.
[He straightens, looking at Feferi. Much as he hated to admit it, he could use her assistance...]
Will you be continuing on?
no subject
Yes. I think I will for a little while. Do you want some help getting out?
no subject
I don't need assistance. I will make it out well enough on my own.
[He steps forward, scooping the cat into his right arm stepping toward the stairs. A pause, and he waves his hand at her again. Perhaps she might find her mind a little clearer, a little more agile after the seal of Dalaran glows over her head for a moment. Dalaran Brilliance, etc, etc.]
Do be mindful of falling rubble.
[And he's slowly hobbling down the stairs with his cane in his right hand and the cat steadying herself with her front paws on his shoulder. Kinda leaning a little heavy on the banister with his left hand. TOTALLY DIDN'T NEED HELP NOPE NOPE NOT ME.]
no subject
MAGE FOOD PLZFeferi is pretty enthralled by all the magic, taking notes of all its effects though she will forget soon enough. She's interested enough so that she has to ask. ]
So... are you some kind of wizard?
[ She is following along of her own accord, she can always go back in once she sees him out. ]
no subject
I am a mage.
[He looks back at her, pausing, and frowning. Was she going to see him out? What a bother.]
no subject
[ Mage means something a little different to her; she's usually pretty good about not assuming, but despite the situation, she's a little over-excited, and a distraction will help get them out quicker-- or make it feel that way. ]
no subject
[He frowns.]
Are you always so incessantly chatty?
no subject
[ She sounds like she has a little trouble wording that, and shrugs it off in favor of his question. ]
I like to talk to new people! How else do you get to know someone?
no subject
I see.
[Are we down the stairs yet? Okay, good. He looks down at her.]
Thank you, I suppose.
no subject
no subject
[And he's walking away. Honestly, cheerful people. Ugh.]
