Location: The Hold and Housing Complex
Characters: All who wish to be in the vicinity!
Summary: The Initiative asked for the Housing Complex to be evacuated starting early morning on 5/5, in preparation for the expected landing of the spaceship stolen from the United Earth. The landing goes horribly wrong when an undiscovered bomb detonates onboard the ship, causing partial engine failure. The ship proceeds to be crash landed into the Housing Complex; no lives, however, are lost.

The ship breaks cloud-cover as a spot of light in the dreary skies, leaving behind the beauty of sunlight above the broken cloud layer as it continues to descend. With the Initiative having instigated an evacuation of the area ahead of time, just in case, those watching in the light drizzle may find it an interesting sight to behold.

Doubtlessly, the United Earth, from its great distance, may have also found it interesting.

The first sign of something going wrong is an explosion visible from the ground. People who hear it might startle; the ship itself goes from a smooth, controlled flight path to one wobbly and filled with dark, flaming smoke. The whine of its remaining engine is slower to reach the ground, though the ship itself seems to pick up a spiraling speed, still controlled to those familiar with watching things that fly come crashing down to the ground.

The Initiative members on the ground are calling for people to get back and take cover. Inside the main Hold, one man at the transport pads hears his radio blast to life and swallows past his own fear, glancing at the active pad waiting to pull in another unlucky soul.

When the ship hits the Housing Complex, it demolishes the upper levels, though the force with which it hits doesn't seem to be the same as what it should be. Combined telekinetic buffering and excellent piloting from a former Guardian of the Universe Galaxy keeps damage to a catastrophic minimum.

Welcome to the fallout. What will you do from here?

That makes you a little more of a mercenary than a soldier in the romantic sense, you know.

I mean Exsilium is my home now. Which I know is in all likelihood difficult to imagine for you. Being from Earth and all. But. I don't have any alternative allegiance to which I could dedicate my soldierly romance. The largest obstacle to my developing romantic soldierly feelings is their almost complete absense in any other transport.

'Romantic' was probably the wrong word to use.

I can understand growing attached to where you live, but this can't possibly be the same. It's like growing attached to an internment camp.

That implies someone's being saved. Isn't that the polar opposite?

I feel bad that you feel that way, but I couldn't say that would apply to many people at all.

That isn't good enough for me. Everyone deserves more than settling for Stockholme Syndrome.

I get that. It's not Stockholm Syndrome if your circumstances are genuinely improved drastically by the grubnapping, though, is it?

I'm... sorry, I know it's not anywhere near the same for you and I don't mean to imply it should be.

[Frowning a bit tightly, Shiki shook his head.]

I can name a hundred situations worse than this.

Still, I can't say that even if it's an improvement that you should be thankful.

[She shrugged her shoulders a little bit as her lips quirked up.]

You're not harboring outright rebellious sentiments, though, are you, Shiki? That is a different creature from noncompliance. You should really meet Haruka, you two would get along well...

Harboring? I disapprove of being taken away and encouraged to fight for the same person who's put me out.

There's a difference between coming to that perfectly understandable conclusion and actually acting on it destructively. For instance one of those things doesn't senselessly risk your safety or that of others. [Her concern showed somewhat in her eyebrows.] I don't want you to throw yourself into a work of futility and then get assigned community service.

On that front, I hardly care. I'm not exactly one who's likely to live a long life in the first place.

I'm not going to concede as if I'm supposed to pick a side to avoid punishment.

I've said it enough times I'm not sure I know what it means anymore.

[Beat.] Some... friends of mine are going to "crash" in the catacombs.

[Shiki let out a tense little sigh, certain he wasn't getting very far.]

I'm sure they'll have fun living in a closed in and gaseous cave.

I had a feeling you wouldn't accept that invitation.

I should probably be getting back to them soon, though...

What's stopping you from going? The livening and thrilling conversation?

Don't feel guilty about it. Now's not exactly a positive moment for either of us.
