(open) crash into me
Date & Time: Mid-afternoon Sunday, May 5th
Location: The Hold and Housing Complex
Characters: All who wish to be in the vicinity!
Summary: The Initiative asked for the Housing Complex to be evacuated starting early morning on 5/5, in preparation for the expected landing of the spaceship stolen from the United Earth. The landing goes horribly wrong when an undiscovered bomb detonates onboard the ship, causing partial engine failure. The ship proceeds to be crash landed into the Housing Complex; no lives, however, are lost.
Warnings: Spaceship crash landings it's all horrible!
Notes: Respond in action tags or prose, as you please!
The ship breaks cloud-cover as a spot of light in the dreary skies, leaving behind the beauty of sunlight above the broken cloud layer as it continues to descend. With the Initiative having instigated an evacuation of the area ahead of time, just in case, those watching in the light drizzle may find it an interesting sight to behold.
Doubtlessly, the United Earth, from its great distance, may have also found it interesting.
The first sign of something going wrong is an explosion visible from the ground. People who hear it might startle; the ship itself goes from a smooth, controlled flight path to one wobbly and filled with dark, flaming smoke. The whine of its remaining engine is slower to reach the ground, though the ship itself seems to pick up a spiraling speed, still controlled to those familiar with watching things that fly come crashing down to the ground.
The Initiative members on the ground are calling for people to get back and take cover. Inside the main Hold, one man at the transport pads hears his radio blast to life and swallows past his own fear, glancing at the active pad waiting to pull in another unlucky soul.
When the ship hits the Housing Complex, it demolishes the upper levels, though the force with which it hits doesn't seem to be the same as what it should be. Combined telekinetic buffering and excellent piloting from a former Guardian of theUniverse Galaxy keeps damage to a catastrophic minimum.
Welcome to the fallout. What will you do from here?

It's easy enough to lift her to her feet, and once she's up he'll bend down to grab the glasses for her.]
I said 'are you all right'. You didn't bump your head, did you?
no subject
[WHAT A GENTLEMAN]
no subject
Does she mean
him?
Did she not notice......................................
Blink. Blink.]
Um. No. No, I don't think I saw anything?
no subject
Ugh, what a jerk, bowling me over like that!
[She hangs onto Gilbert long enough to get her balance back... she looks kind of woozy]
Thanks for helping me up, mister... And you got my sunglasses, too...
no subject
Hm? Sunglasses?
[What is this strange word.]
They're for looking at the sun?
no subject
No, they're to protect your eyes from the sun!! Haven't you ever gotten any?
[Though, he was dressed kind of weirdly... Maybe he was from the past. Before fashion happened]
no subject
Ah, no...I've never had to protect my eyes from the sun.
But...
[PREGNANT PAUSE.]
no subject
Well, I guess you've got a hat...
[And she'll trail off when he does]
But?
no subject
He glances upwards at the drizzling sky.]
If there's no sun, then why were you wearing them?
no subject
[You're gonna get a weird look for that]
There's an explosion! It looks cool!
Are you from a time before cool things existed or something?
no subject
[It mostly goes over his head, so he just sort of frowns in absolute confusion.]
That doesn't explain anything at all!
no subject
[Idly rubbing at her head...] And you didn't answer!
no subject
[Honestly, he's already forgotten.]
no subject
no subject
[SAY THAT TO THE MIRROR, MAYA.]
no subject
Actually.. come to think of it, I haven't seen you before. Are you new? [Because it's not possible she just hasn't seen him before, right?]
no subject
'New'? Ah, I did just get here, if that's what you mean...
no subject
[..But it did explain some things]
I knew it! [No you didn't, Maya] I bet you're lost or confused or looking for something, right? That's why you're so spacy!
no subject
[But he's not going to admit to being spacy! He's a grown, capable man!!]
no subject
Good thing I'm here for you, isn't it? [ADJUSTS SUNGLASSES...] Go ahead, question me all you like!
no subject
[Questions, questions. He has to have at least one. But being put on the spot like this is nerve-wracking!]
...Who are you?
no subject
... Come to think of it, who are you? Are you related to Mr. Edgeworth in any way? [Those frills though]
no subject
No. Where should I have heard of you from...?
no subject
[AHEM] You didn't answer! And actually, you didn't question either.
no subject
[He sighs and shakes his head.]
And I've never heard of anyone with that name either. My name is Gilbert.
