Location: The Hold and Housing Complex
Characters: All who wish to be in the vicinity!
Summary: The Initiative asked for the Housing Complex to be evacuated starting early morning on 5/5, in preparation for the expected landing of the spaceship stolen from the United Earth. The landing goes horribly wrong when an undiscovered bomb detonates onboard the ship, causing partial engine failure. The ship proceeds to be crash landed into the Housing Complex; no lives, however, are lost.

The ship breaks cloud-cover as a spot of light in the dreary skies, leaving behind the beauty of sunlight above the broken cloud layer as it continues to descend. With the Initiative having instigated an evacuation of the area ahead of time, just in case, those watching in the light drizzle may find it an interesting sight to behold.

Doubtlessly, the United Earth, from its great distance, may have also found it interesting.

The first sign of something going wrong is an explosion visible from the ground. People who hear it might startle; the ship itself goes from a smooth, controlled flight path to one wobbly and filled with dark, flaming smoke. The whine of its remaining engine is slower to reach the ground, though the ship itself seems to pick up a spiraling speed, still controlled to those familiar with watching things that fly come crashing down to the ground.

The Initiative members on the ground are calling for people to get back and take cover. Inside the main Hold, one man at the transport pads hears his radio blast to life and swallows past his own fear, glancing at the active pad waiting to pull in another unlucky soul.

When the ship hits the Housing Complex, it demolishes the upper levels, though the force with which it hits doesn't seem to be the same as what it should be. Combined telekinetic buffering and excellent piloting from a former Guardian of the Universe Galaxy keeps damage to a catastrophic minimum.

Welcome to the fallout. What will you do from here?

[That seems to be going around, yeah. Just try not to make the "special treatment because you're dead" thing too obvious.]

Why would anyone join up with those criminals?! He made a contract too and I'm betting it's not a legal one!

[Gilbert blinks. Huh, he hadn't had a chance to stop and ask yet, just how Leo had formed his contract. To contract with a Chain, one doesn't simply walk to the door and hold out a hand, it takes time, training, work to gain that acceptance. What had Leo had to do?]

No...that's not it. He's -

[Glen Baskerville. Vincent had said it: Leo is the one who possesses Glen Baskerville's soul. By that fact alone, he'd been able to walk up to the Baskerville door and take back the power that he had already been qualified to take.

He doesn't finish his sentence.]

[Yeah, Oz told him about that. He's still not happy about it. He has a feeling that's where Gilbert was going with it, so he just continues from there.]

I know who he thinks he is! Even if it is the case, it doesn't mean he has to help them!

[Gilbert assumes that it's because he was desperate, had no choice, any number of things that had backed him into that particular corner. Though he'd spoken with such conviction, he recalls his and Elliot's fight at Isla's; that explosion that can only exist between two people who care for each other on that level.

But it's nothing he can comment on either, not without a lot of half-formulated thoughts and ideas on this whole mess, so he simply keeps his mouth shut and continues following Elliot, unable to actually look at his little brother as he does so.]

[Good, stay quiet, Elliot can just focus on getting you out the door, you load.

He finally hits the exit and starts shoving them all through the crowd as well as he can in hopes of getting them a somewhat safe distance away. After a bit, he stops to check on both of his companions. He looks down at Arietta as he asks the one who can reply.]

You okay?

[He glances over as soon as they come to a hurried stop, but assumes that Elliot is talking to the cat.

Don't judge him.]

It can't answer, you know...

[...Well don't worry, Gil, he quickly snaps his head over to you.]

That's where everybody who they brought here lives. [Hi Gil, you're homeless before you got to see your home.] It was hardly worth it anyway with the amount of people they thought could live comfortably there.

[Gil turns and glances behind himself. Most people have retreated a fair distance away; there's only a few foolish people who are close to the wreckage. Foolish people like Nightrays.]

...We should get further away, too.

[He's still a little winded, but they can't stop here. He moves out into the street, the rain.]

[If there's a building on fire, they'll be inside!

Elliot also glances at the building even though he knows Gilbert is correct.]

Right. Then other rescuers can get in.

[He heads out just behind Gilbert, glad that he doesn't have to lead the guy anymore. Why had Raven made the contract with him, anyway?]

[Your brother is a good man! Sometimes.

He glances behind himself to make sure Elliot is following, but only looks as high as his shoulder.]

Where is everyone supposed to go for now?

[At least one of them is, sigh.

...Well. That's...a good question. Hmm...]

Er... The Hold is probably is safest place right now. You do remember it, right?

[Someone probably told him what it was called, but he doesn't recognize the name of it as the place that he just ran out of.]

Um...should I remember it?

[...Y'know, Elliot kinda wishes you would surprise him sometimes, Gilbert.]

IT'S THE FIRST PLACE YOU WENT TO HERE! Why else would I think you'd know it already?!

[But of course he remembers it! Sort of. Vaguely. It's back that way somewhere.]

[He understands. ;; But he starts walking back the way that he's pretty sure he came, glancing briefly over his shoulder towards the wreckage first.]
