a collection of threads throughout June following the Dan's activity with one another as well friends connected to the Dan, put into one post to avoid spamming the comms. Sometimes a dan roll call.

Warnings: Uuuuuh idk lots of gross sick people. Dying! Sad teenagers and friends!

The virus is spreading, and even the Dan is catching it. And so are their friends. This is whatever they decide to do during June while sick. Prose and action spam friendly!

[To say Shintaro looked terrible would've been an understatement. He looked like he was about to collapse, and Shinji thinks for a moment he shouldn't have come. His presence was probably giving Shintaro undue stress. But he can't turn away now. He stays outside the doorway for now.]

How are you feeling? [It's a stupid question. It's obvious by how he looks.]

... Peachy.

[His answer is a lie and Shintaro knows it, and so does Shinji. He's putting his weight on the doorknob to keep himself steady and his hair's even sticking to the side of his face.]

You're not uninfected, are you? If you're not sick yet...

[He can't help but look worried. He hasn't known Shintaro for a long time, but that isn't a factor that works against his empathy. And to be honest, the other boy looked like he could collapse at any moment. He edges into the doorway.]

... you should sit down.

[There are no arguments from Shintaro, who steps back once more to make more room for Shinji. Once he steps inside, Shintaro closes the door lightly -- but doesn't lock it. It was for whenever the dan should visit, though he won't explain that to Shinji.]

Do you want something to drink?

[Shinji notices. So they've been having a lot of visitors...? He shakes his head at the offer.]

It's okay. I'm fine. [He pauses.] What about you? You really don't look well.

Whatever's going around, I caught it bad. I guess I wasn't so surprised, though. [With the offer of a drink turned down, Shintaro will lead Shinji to the common area and offer him a seat.]

[Shinji hesitates before sitting.] ... sorry for coming at a bad time.

Don't worry about it. If it was any worse, I would've said no. [He wouldn't have. Shintaro can't turn down invitations or guests.]

You okay?

[imusntrunaway]

[Shinji accepts that with a small nod.] Mm. I've been a little feverish, but I'm not as bad--I'll be fine soon, I think.

I see. I hope you do get better -- it gets pretty bad.

[He shrugs, though. No need to complain overly to Shinji and make him worried and upset even more.]

[He quietly regards Shintaro. 'It gets pretty bad'--just looking at him told the story. Shinji isn't sure if he'll get to that stage, but he isn't worried about it. He's been more worried about those around him. It's a feeling he hasn't had in a while.]

Your sister and Kaworu-kun... have they been looking after you?

Nagisa? [he's starting to drop the honorific. it's not like he and Kaworu are strangers anymore after Kaworu made him freaking fly and then scolded him for moving around sick. sigh.]

He dropped by, and Momo's been hovering, yeah. She's sick, too, though.

... I'm glad to hear that. [Pause.] How long have you been sick?

I don't know when I got infected, but I started getting my fever around the fifth. It spread fast.

If it's still around by the end of the week, you should see a doctor.

[By the end of the week he'll be a goner, Shinji...]

I guess I'll have to. Where were they again?

[He won't believe that dramatic irony.]

There's a Transport-run clinic... I can show you where it is. I think most of the hospitals are busy around this time.

I'd imagine so. [People are already dead from it, after all. Shintaro doesn't say that out loud, or voice his dislike of hospitals to Shinji either.]

I want to tell Momo before I go; if I'm still sick at the end of the week, do you mind showing me?

... mm. [But you'll be better by the end of the week, is what he wants to believe. But just in case...] If... there's any trouble, you should let Kaworu-kun know right away.

[Nagisa would probably smile and scold him for getting this sick without going to a doctor, wouldn't he?]

... He won't mind?

[imusntrunaway]

[That earns a small but amused smile from Shinji.]

I don't think so. He's... really easy-going. He isn't irritated easily.

... He's easy to be around when he actually is. I'll message him if I need to.

[That settles his worries a bit. It's not a lot, but it's something.]

Can I ask you to keep an eye on my sister? [It's not necessary. Might even be a burden on Shinji. Momo has friends, but..]

You don't have to do anything. But it'll be nice to know that there's someone.

[He blinks at that. It's a responsibility he hadn't intended to take on, to be honest. But it'd be wrong to refuse. And he understands--it's a brother looking out for his sister, like Toji had looked after Sakura. So he gives a slow nod.]
