Summary: Holding a dinner so we can all get to know each other, this should end terribly.

[This month's haul of transports seemed to bring in a lot of familiar faces for the residents of 103. Friends, family, comrades, terrifying generals who are your boss now- all sorts! ]

[It was Sophie's idea to hold a dinner. A dinner of family, for everyone to have a chance to meet each other and get to know each other better. It seemed like a nice way to welcome everyone into this horrible war. But hey, food! And so, Allen and Sophie made sure to invite their friends, family and comrades in order to have a warm evening together]

[And Kaneis, well, at least he isn't climbing out the back window at the prospect of social interaction for hours. This my friends, is progress. ]

[But gather around friends and family and terrifying boss! There's food, people, wine and games to be had! Just you know, try not to cough in it you sick jerks]

[Well it was safe to say that this was one of the largest social gathering Kaneis had attended since, well, he died. Not only that, but the ones he did attend before? Tended to be much more formal parties in the royal courts where the point was less have fun so much as survive the night with all your skin intact. Nor was this really like hanging out at the taverns and getting drunk with random women and men he'd probably never learn the name of. No. This was dinner with friendship and he wasn't sure what to make of that. He seriously has no idea what's going on or what to do here. ]

[But don't worry, Kaneis can adapt. After dinner is finished he makes sure to sit in an armchair not necessarily part of the main social scene, but definitely not far enough away to be noticeable. He's got a glass of wine with him and all and all...seems to be trying to see if he could be overlooked as an extension of the armchair]

[Because seriously, people suck. ]

[A failure on his part, since Cheria definitely doesn't overlook him. She approaches him and sits on the next closest piece of furniture. She smiles, sipping at her own non-alcoholic beverage while she glances around.]

Is something wrong, Kaneis? Don't tell me you're sulking over here.

Huh?

[he'll look up at her, a bit surprised at being addressed]

Oh- no nothing's wrong! Why did it look like I was brooding?

Yeah, just a little!

[She smiles, setting her drink down.]

What are you doing over here, anyway? Shouldn't you be entertaining guests too?

Oh, didn't realize...heh heh.

[Oh well, he might as well be honest]

Heh...maybe? To tell you the truth, I'm not really...used to parties like this.

[You know with friendship instead of plotting and backstabbing what is this!!]

Me neither, but it's kind of fun! It's nice to meet new people, and learn about everyone's friends, don't you think? I think you did a really good job helping set everything up.

Uh, thanks...[compliments, he can take them] But really? You guys all seemed close- I figured this be a normal thing for you.

There wasn't really a lot of time for parties.

[They were too busy saving the world for that.]

We spent a lot of time together, but it wasn't really like this.

What were you doing instead?

[How do you casually tell someone your world was in danger? She doesn't really want to get into it at a party.]

Um... Travelling mostly.

Yeah? Like around the world?

[flashmaiden]

[Nodding.]

Right! It was amazing getting to see the world outside of Lhant. And even getting to see a completely different world entirely. It was... a good journey.

It is, isn't it? [She smiles.] We used a shuttle to travel there.
