Summary: Holding a dinner so we can all get to know each other, this should end terribly.

[This month's haul of transports seemed to bring in a lot of familiar faces for the residents of 103. Friends, family, comrades, terrifying generals who are your boss now- all sorts! ]

[It was Sophie's idea to hold a dinner. A dinner of family, for everyone to have a chance to meet each other and get to know each other better. It seemed like a nice way to welcome everyone into this horrible war. But hey, food! And so, Allen and Sophie made sure to invite their friends, family and comrades in order to have a warm evening together]

[And Kaneis, well, at least he isn't climbing out the back window at the prospect of social interaction for hours. This my friends, is progress. ]

[But gather around friends and family and terrifying boss! There's food, people, wine and games to be had! Just you know, try not to cough in it you sick jerks]

[Is very busy and has been most of the afternoon. Seriously this is a lot of mouths to feed and some of you seem to eat for three! Want to help out? Get in the way? Try to sneak some food before dinner? Come on in! ]

( sneaking into the kitchen! though mostly to peek at what all's being made and say hello to whomever's doing the preparing! )

[and Zelos will be in there, working on something that looks like a salad! Glances over at that kid, he seems slightly familiar but he hasn't placed from where yet]

Hm?

[ Sophie can't cook. She shouldn't be allowed to cook. But she's in the kitchen, watching some pots on the stove boil and other dishes being prepared. When's the food going to be ready to eat?

And, oh... there's someone else here now? She glances over. Hey, she spoke to you before. ]

...I remember you.

[Cheria's helping out of course! Having only one cook for that many people would be crazy. You can find her preparing all the favorite dishes of her friends from home, because she spoils them sometimes (only sometimes, unless you're Asbel). This seems like the best time out of any for spoiling, but that does of course mean there's a lot of food to be prepared.]

[He might be just watching over her.

Because he really wants his rice omelettes.

But he's not going to ask.

Still, Cheria, he's watching her...

And not saying anything, because it's awkward to ask, even if he would use is political power to feed everyone rice omelettes.]

Oh, Cheria. What is it you're preparing?

[ Sophie's sitting on a chair, nearby the kitchen doorway. She has been quiet and patient for the longest time, watching all the cooks prepare.

... ... ...

But she can only keep quiet for so long.

She's hungry already. ]

Cheria, are the crablettes ready yet?

Sorry, not sorry.

[Cheria, your spoiling of them is going to come back to bite you one of these days. Because here's another one of her charges, peering into the kitchen with a smile on his face.]

Hey, Cheria! How's the curry coming?

[Yep.]

[One of these days...]

[The bustle of friends (though most, strangers) enjoying themselves her backdrop, Lenalee has done as is only fitting and expected of her and squirreled herself away in the kitchen to fill the coffee pot and all the mugs she can find, even those pushed back on the topmost shelves. It is a role she is comfortable delegating herself to, and a habit which puts her in a more contented place than... here.]

( it's maybe a habit to bother the cook, after taking so much advantage of doing just that to gil, so he walks in without any concerns. )

DINING TABLE...FLOOR....COUNTERS

[Okay so there was as slight oversight in the fact that there are way more people coming to this thing than there are chairs or room at the table, so some of you may be eating on the floor or the kitchen counter! Unless you want to bring your own chair of course]

[Either way, there's more than enough food to feed everyone. Most of it is pretty good tasting too (most...)! So eat up, chat with your neighbors, and have a nice meal!]

[And for those of you adults worried? There is totally wine and ale. Don't worry]

[ Like hell wine is for adults only. She brought a bottle with her to the floor where she found a place to sit. She's quiet mostly, listening in on conversations without giving the impression she is. The girl is quick to rescue her plate and cup when someone walks by, peering up while she chews. She offers a smile to everyone; nothing lost testing the waters. ]

[Sheena looks a little awkward and self conscious; she keeps adjusting her arm-warmers and looking around because she's 1. in Zelos' apartment and 2. she is about as socially inept as he is.

In place of her pink ribbon, she has her hair pulled back into a bun with fancy hair sticks. They look spectacular and rich, like they were stolen from a noble Korean lady. Probably because they were. It's... about as close as she'll get to dressing up nice on short notice.]

Food smells good...

[Allen's standing by the counters, with his head down, shoveling food in his face like it's going out of style. The speed at which he's horking it down is almost grotesque... GROWING KID'S GOTTA EAT.

Every now and then he does come up for air. Though mostly just to fetch himself seconds/thirds/eighths. He's not opposed to conversation, though, if anyone dares to approach.

Just don't come near him with anything alcoholic.]

[Asbel perches at one of the counters with a half-eaten plate of curry in one hand and a spoon in the other. Honestly, he wouldn't have minded a spot on the floor, but from up here it's much easier to follow the lively conversations of his companions and their friends. (And...a few not so lively.)]

[It's nice, though. Everyone being in the same room. People joking around and laughing and enjoying the company. It'd be even nicer if every meal was just like this...but, that's probably asking for a bit much, huh?]

[At some point he speaks up:]

So what would you guys say to a game later? You know, to get to know one another better.

( oz is perched at the counter. he's eating, but he seems to be enjoying the ambiance and company more than the food, really, and offers a smile to anyone who looks his way. a dinner among friends is both a nice thing and a rarity to him, much as he considers more a matter of other people and their friends. )

Everything really is delicious.

[Hubert stands kitchen, his plate on the kitchen counter as he observes the surroundings, specifically what kind of living arrangements that Sophie and Cheria are in. Also, to see if this Kaneis is a trustworthy person. As a guest, Hubert appears less than sociable and could care less to really talk to anyone. So many people here, so many questions, that Hubert knows better than just to leave them alone. He's not going to cause a scene here... yet.

Just for now, anyone looking at him can see his eyes wandering around the room, observing everyone.]

LIVING ROOM

[Okay so maybe after the meal (or before it) you decide to hang out in the living room! It's not too different from the living rooms given in any other apartment, but it's a nice area to hang out. If you're interested there's playing cards, chess, and whatever other games people could get a hold of.]

[Well it was safe to say that this was one of the largest social gathering Kaneis had attended since, well, he died. Not only that, but the ones he did attend before? Tended to be much more formal parties in the royal courts where the point was less have fun so much as survive the night with all your skin intact. Nor was this really like hanging out at the taverns and getting drunk with random women and men he'd probably never learn the name of. No. This was dinner with friendship and he wasn't sure what to make of that. He seriously has no idea what's going on or what to do here. ]

[But don't worry, Kaneis can adapt. After dinner is finished he makes sure to sit in an armchair not necessarily part of the main social scene, but definitely not far enough away to be noticeable. He's got a glass of wine with him and all and all...seems to be trying to see if he could be overlooked as an extension of the armchair]

[Because seriously, people suck. ]

[Across the field, commonfolk and knights alike stand at the ready, holding their formation against approaching enemy forces. No matter what, they can't back down. They have to protect their monarchs and their country!]

[Asbel's eyes narrow as he looks from one section of the field to the next. There aren't a lot of options open to him and several of his men are already in critical danger. Can't he find a way to save them?!]

[His hand hovers in the air above one of his knights for a long moment before his shoulders sag and he lets out a groan of frustration.]

[Klaud is hardly a social creature outside of unavoidable situations not because she lacked the conversational skills, but because she just preferred to keep to herself usually. While she understood why Allen had invited her (obligation, an awkward feeling to reach out to her if she got anything from his stumbling message) a small part of her wished he hadn't.

So she stuck by a window, going between watching the people inside the room to the ones outside the window. Lau Jimin, a small white monkey, busied himself with eating a bread roll on her shoulder.]

[Miranda, in her usual bout of bad luck, arrived late and a bit frazzled. It was a debate on whether or not she should even come--she isn't exactly someone you want to have around cookery. Or people. Or around on the streets when there's puddles.

Not wanting to impose on anyone, she thought it best to stay out of the way and retreat to a quiet corner (where the odds of her breaking things or otherwise ruining everything was less likely).

Once safely ensconced, she breathes a weary sigh. Now she just has to survive dinner.]

BEDROOMS

[Need some privacy? You could probably slip into one of the bedrooms. Though seriously, talk about rude. Get out of there. And you better have pants on when you leave!]

[ Food + drink + 11-year-old = sleep. Which is exactly what one tuckered out little girl is doing on Allen's bed. Only the top half of her head is visible. She's curled up into a ball under the covers, hogging all his pillows. No one is sorry, Allen. ]

[Seles is honestly not sure what all of this commotion is, but she's only ashamed to be so ill so... doesn't really want to go out of the room.

But if you hear the coughing and hacking and nearly dying sounding noises coming from Zelos' room, that would be his darling sister, who's hiding under covers despite her fever. Anyone who comes in can attempt to communicate, though.]
