Summary: Holding a dinner so we can all get to know each other, this should end terribly.

[This month's haul of transports seemed to bring in a lot of familiar faces for the residents of 103. Friends, family, comrades, terrifying generals who are your boss now- all sorts! ]

[It was Sophie's idea to hold a dinner. A dinner of family, for everyone to have a chance to meet each other and get to know each other better. It seemed like a nice way to welcome everyone into this horrible war. But hey, food! And so, Allen and Sophie made sure to invite their friends, family and comrades in order to have a warm evening together]

[And Kaneis, well, at least he isn't climbing out the back window at the prospect of social interaction for hours. This my friends, is progress. ]

[But gather around friends and family and terrifying boss! There's food, people, wine and games to be had! Just you know, try not to cough in it you sick jerks]

[Oh how the two of them will always be different.

Still for now there's a silence from Hubert as he takes this time to slowly and deliberately push the bridge of his glasses against his nose. Right now is not the time for his emotions to get the better of him. No, he'd rather they remain hidden, even if the wound is there right now.

But right now? He has his brother, he's here with him. And it's a comfort.]

I know that you would. [He sighs.]

I just wish you would be more critical of these new surroundings.

And I wish you'd eat something. Cheria had me practically slaving over that rice, you know.

[He volunteered, actually. Whether his help's a good or bad thing is up to your individual discretion. Asbel tries to keep the tone light, but Hubert does still seem a little...he doesn't know. Agitated? He's not sure why.]

But I'll try to keep my eyes open. Actually, I've been thinking of looking into the history of this place so I can understand it better.

[As evidenced by a few bites he's made into his omelette. Still, that persistence is almost getting annoying at this point, however Hubert understands that Asbel means only goodwill by it.

But the next thing he says does catch his ears.]

As for this world's history, I've been speaking with someone to find books on it. I believe it wise to study up on it, and I'd be more than happy to direct you to what books would be good to start with.

[Well, keep up the good work! He should eat every last bite of it unless he wants Cheria to get angry at him, too. Asbel can tell him all about that; it's no fun.]

...Sure, Hubert. Sounds good! [As long as they aren't soul-suckingly boring textbooks, anyway.]

What I'd really like to do is learn more about the United Earth. There has to be information out there regarding what the UE and the people of Exsilium couldn't resolve. Maybe if we understood their differences, we could find a way to stop all this.

[He's already gotten his scolding from Cheria for not having a balanced diet. It's not his fault he really like rice omelettes. Okay, maybe it is, but there's something comforting about his favorite food that no other foods can provide.]

Always the idealist, though I cannot deny your logic. What we need to find out is what started this war, though I suppose many people have looked to that as a solution.

[Curry can provide anything that rice omelettes have got and then some!]

Maybe so, but it can't hurt to look into it, right? Although, it does make me curious about what other people have found out and tried already. I wonder if they have public meetings for that kind of thing?

[Asbel scratches his head, thinking back to anything he's learned that might be remotely useful.]

Collette also mentioned something about a lot of the Transports having come from other versions of this world. Maybe something happened here that didn't happen on those other Earths?

Perhaps that is something we should look into as well. Though when we do, we will have to separate these alternate histories; maybe a chart will do us good in this event.

Yeah, I dunno, you're way better at this sort of thing than I am. But it does make sense to keep track of them individually so we can compare them later on.

[Now he's wondering how much history they're going to have to sift through. How old this world is. Thousands of years, or millions, or even longer? The thought of having to keep track of piles and piles of foreign affairs - and these are really foreign affairs - is daunting to say the least.]

Well, I guess it wouldn't do to put it off... When would be a good time for you, Hubert?

Yes, it does, and I'm certain you will catch on to some patterns, I may miss. Though that instance will be rare.

[So yeah, Hubert may have a hard time calming that ego of his, but it's really his way of saying that he needs Asbel's help in this. It's just... hard to express it.]

At the moment, I have nothing planned, so whenever you would be available would also be a good time for me.

Okay, then. How about we start Tuesday? That'll give us the rest of the weekend to review information written up on the devices and to figure out what kinds of clues to focus in on.

[Which will no doubt be postponed thanks to Asbel getting sick and then the bombings and Cheria's subsequent illness, but hey, at least he didn't put it off too far at the time?]
