Summary: Evening/Night shift at the clinic. All welcomed, whether they be checking out the clinic, working at the clinic or that unfortunate dude who put their weapon in a very wrong spot.
Warnings: PG-13 for language and possible gore since hey IT IS A CLINIC.

[No matter how strange Zelos's life get, he can always count on his clinic shifts being one of two things: incredibly boring or incredibly strange. There was no middle ground.]

[Any night that you come in, you'll probably find Zelos sitting at the reception desk, with his feet on top if none of his bosses are around. If he's not attending to any patients or talking to staff, he seems to be reading- looks like the flavor of this month for literature is fantasy. And sometimes, he even seems to be talking to the book]

Oh come on Buttercup my beautiful flower, there's no way he'll actually release him. Jeez...

[And so on. Rest assured guys, this is a professional medic here. You can tell by the lab coat. ]

[Here's a new face. And a bit pale at that. There's a slightly shaky teenager standing there staring, a little too dazed and confused to actually attempt to sign in or any such thing. He just watches this conversation with the book for a moment, apparently puzzled. Finally, he clears his throat. Hello?]

[wilder]

[Yeah he's noticing the weird...standing thing going on in the corner of his eye. When the throat clears, he'll look up- oh good it's not a boss!]

Oh hey there! How can I help you?

[lazyinlove]

Yeah. Hi. Uh. I...do you have some...

[The kid shakes his head, losing his train of thought, and shrugs apologetically.]

I don't feel so hot. You guys can fix that here, right?

[wilder]

Well, we can sure try.

[He puts down the book]

What seems to be the problem?

[lazyinlove]

[Good, that sounds promising. Stanley relaxes just a little.]

Kinda dizzy today. You know like when you stand up too fast? Like that.

[wilder]

Dizzy, okay. And I take it this isn't normal?

[He gets up from his chair]

[lazyinlove]

Uh. No.

[Who goes to see someone about something they consider normal, right? But no need to be a dick. He'll just score some acetaminophen or some antacids or something and get out out of this dude's hair.]>/small>

Probably just catching something.

[wilder]

Huh. Well, come with me- we can run a few tests and see what you got.

[He'll hold open the door to lead to the exam area]

Tests?

[Yep, that was a nervous squeak. The teenager is skinny, but he's tall and sinewy too. It's probably a safe guess that he's used to being healthy. He definitely seems wary of doctors and exams and medical testing.]

Like blood tests?

[wilder]

[He meanwhile seems utmost calm as he talks]

Possibly. If you say you're catching something, it might be a strain of that virus that hit us a couple months ago. Which trust me, we do not want that thing popping up again.

Though if you rather not have your blood drawn, I can always play it safe and skip straight to the vaccine.

[lazyinlove]

Uh. Sure. Whatever.

[It's probably the pansy way out, but he doesn't really know how viruses work. He just knows he's not up for bringing the plague back to town. And it would be cool if food didn't sit in his stomach like rocks anymore. So it sounds like a good idea to him.]

[wilder]

Right, okay.

[He'll point him to an exam room.]

Alright, so tell me your name and if you've had any other symptoms beyond dizziness.

[lazyinlove]

Stanley. Lucerne.

[Stan enters obediently and, after a moment of awkward hesitation, takes a seat on the table. It feels kind of silly. School physicals aside he can't remember the last time he's been to see a doctor. Probably for that last booster shot they all got in 9th grade. He seems to find his shoes fascinating, as he thinks for a moment and replies.]

I...uh. I threw up the cookies. But that could've just been the hangover. It's mostly the dizzy thing. And I'm kind of tired. But that could just be all the rain.

[wilder]

Stanley, okay.

[And he frowns a bit at that as he listens to the explanation]

The hangover, huh? About how much did you drink?

[lazyinlove]

I dunno. It was a party, who's counting? But I didn't get trashed or anything, I had to help someone home.

[Stanley on the other hand, is pretty nonchalant about the drinking. Since when does anyone care about that? Weird. Suddenly, he's embarrassed about it. Maybe he shouldn't have mentioned it?]

I'm fine now. The cookie tent just smells like sugar. It was just one of those things.

[wilder]

Oh, so I take it you're a new arrival then.

[Since...he sure hasn't heard about any parties and the cookie tent is pretty famous. Overall he doesn't seem to care about drinking. His world didn't exactly have drinking ages anyway]

Alright, so you showed up here- had cookies and threw them up, and now you feel dizzy? Do I got that right?

[lazyinlove]

Pretty much.

[He's not new this month actually, but he can't see where that makes a difference anyway. As long as he gets cleared or vaccinated or maybe just some OJ, right? As long as it's not just a wasted trip where he confessed some embarrassing stuff to a stranger, it's all good.]

[wilder]

Hmmm. And nothing else than that? Doesn't sound like the virus, at least...

[Hungover, threw up food, and also dizzy. Maybe dehydration?]

Have you been drinking water? You could be dehydrated.

[lazyinlove]

Sort of.

[Does the head under the faucet in the morning thing count? That counts, right?]

[wilder]

Sort of?

How does one...sort of drink water?

[lazyinlove]

Like casually but I'm seeing juice more seriously these days?

[You know, if water is closest at hand he might drink some. But there's no parents around to tell him to lay off the sweet drinks instead. He shrugs.]

[wilder]

[He sighs]

Well I guess as long as you're not giving hard liquor a ring...

I'm gonna see if you can keep down some ice chips, okay? I'll be right back.

[And he's heading out to get that]

[Good thing too, because hard liquor is his steady girl and he's a pretty crappy liar.

The ice chips don't seem necessary. He's fine now, can't he just have some peppermint a or something? But dude leaves in a hurry, and anyway his stomach rolls over unpleasantly at the thought of sweets. Maybe ice chips are a better idea after all.

He scoots to the edge of the table and dismounts, poking around idly at the jars of cotton puffs and tongue depressors while he waits.]

[wilder]

[And he'll come back a few minutes later, with a cup of ice chips. He holds them out]

Here, try these.

[lazyinlove]

[Stanley steps forward, but the motion makes his head ring and he loses his balance, grabbing hold of the exam table to steady himself. Woah, head rush.

After a second he blinks, trying to clear the spots from his eyes, and reaches out blindly for the ice chips. Something cold sounds nice, actually.]

Sorry. The dizzy thing came back.
