OPEN LOG
Date & Time: September 1 - 3, Evening or Night hours
Location: Transport Clinic
Characters: Zelos/Kaneis and you!
Summary: Evening/Night shift at the clinic. All welcomed, whether they be checking out the clinic, working at the clinic or that unfortunate dude who put their weapon in a very wrong spot.
Warnings: PG-13 for language and possible gore since hey IT IS A CLINIC.
[No matter how strange Zelos's life get, he can always count on his clinic shifts being one of two things: incredibly boring or incredibly strange. There was no middle ground.]
[Any night that you come in, you'll probably find Zelos sitting at the reception desk, with his feet on top if none of his bosses are around. If he's not attending to any patients or talking to staff, he seems to be reading- looks like the flavor of this month for literature is fantasy. And sometimes, he even seems to be talking to the book]
Oh come on Buttercup my beautiful flower, there's no way he'll actually release him. Jeez...
[And so on. Rest assured guys, this is a professional medic here. You can tell by the lab coat. ]

[Okay, fine. Go ahead. He'll wait, rubbing the back of his head.]
Huh. I didn't know people counted those more than once... So it's been pretty dead around here? I thought maybe with the new Transports coming in, some of them might've stopped by to get looked at.
no subject
Not many do that, really. Too busy reuniting with people or freaking out they've been brought here. Though we did get this one kid, fresh off the boat and looking to work! He couldn't have been more than a year older than Sophie...uh, her physical age anyway.
[Since Sophie is actually old as dirt. But he'll glance at the label of the box before getting up and moving to hold open a door]
You mind bringing that to the supply room? I can show you where it is.
no subject
I guess you're right. But even so, I thought that maybe... [His voice trails off and he looks back to Kaneis.] Just like that, huh? But I don't suppose age really matters when you want to help out. Do you know if he got hired?
[Also. Kaneis what is your deal? Don't compare Sophie's age to dirt! How could you think such a thing?! B(]
[Oh, and here he goes again. Asbel sighs inwardly and retrieves the box. Somehow it feels even heavier than it did before. He knew he shouldn't have set it down...] Yeah, of course. I'd appreciate it.
no subject
[He can think whatever he wants in his thought brackets! Like btw your hair is STUPID]
[And Zelos just smiiiles and holds the door open for him. Aw yeah, no heavy lifting for him!]
Sure no problem! Right this way!
no subject
[Kaneis, you're kind of a jerk in your thought brackets. Has anyone ever told you that? ...Guess not.]
[The smile almost looks a little put-on there, but Asbel just readjusts the box to fit through the doorway and steps on through. It's not like he'd want to be sitting around at some desk reading a book. He'll think of this as additional training.]
By the way, I just remembered. I was talking to someone a few days ago about an upcoming talent competition. Do you think it'd be all right if he put a poster up in the lobby, or should I clear that with the chief of staff first?
no subject
[No because they're too busy telling him he's a jerk outside the brackets too.]
[What no it's a totally sincere and relieved smile that someone is helping this poor weak healer, idk what you're talking about. But Zelos looks confused because what are talent shows]
Talent competition? You mean like a joust?
no subject
[Oh. Yeah, that must suck. Asbel's been called a jerk outside of the brackets, too. But hey, on the bright side, it helps build character.]
No, not like a joust. [Actually, if it was a joust instead, he'd be extremely pumped about it. He's still interested and all, but a talent show's more of a curiosity than something to kindle a swordsman's spirit.]
It's where people show off their hobbies and skills. Singing, dancing, playing an instrument, martial arts, acrobatics, magic...just about anything, I suppose. So it's not exclusive to fighters.
[I don't know, Kaneis. You're in pretty good physical shape for someone who's weak.] Um. Can I put this box down now?
no subject
[If by forgot you mean, blatantly avoided it like the plague then yes. He did forget. But he looks curious at that]
Oh I see. Interesting. Well...I can't think of any reason we can't hang a poster in the lobby advertising.
[No ignore the muscles under the labcoat they aren't really there. He glances over] Why? It too heavy?
no subject
[He asks since Kaneis "forgot", not because he thinks there might be someone worth avoiding. He'll completely buy that excuse because Kaneis was, after all, in the marketplace when Asbel arrived. Why else wouldn't he go?]
Sounds good. Then I'll bring one in tomorrow before training. Actually, I've been thinking about entering as a group.
[He's still sore from this morning, so actually, it is feeling too heavy for him. But even Asbel's got his pride.]
Uh- No! Not yet. I was just wondering how much farther it is to the supply room.
no subject
[Because hey people from his world suck.] As a group? I didn't know you were in a band.
Oh. Well- not too far! Just around a couple corners here.
no subject
That'd be because I'm not in one. I never studied an instrument. But there was one time when all of us performed in a play together. I thought maybe we could do something like that again. [You know. A bunch of friends having a good time together. Kaneis has surely heard Asbel share this same sentiment dozens of times before. That Graces brand friendy-family togetherness stuff.]
...Right. Got it. [Just a little more, Asbel. Just a few more corners and you can call it quits for the night.]
no subject
[And he turns one corner! Only one more to go Asbel!] A play? Oh yeah? You got one in mind?
no subject
Well, hey... I mean, at least you have all of us here.
[Asbel follows the turn and continues down the corridor after him.] Mmm... Not really. I don't know many plays, so I thought I'd ask around and see if anyone has some good stories that'd work for one. The play we were in before was about a princess who lived in the woods with some gnomes. A jealous queen tries to poison her with an apple gel, but she gets rescued in the end.
no subject
Haha, sure. Until I get that harem I've always dreamed about anyway!
[And jeez that's a weird story]
Huh...sounds like a fairy tale. I guess you could check those out in the library.
I'll never live up to the fake tag but moving on.
What? [Okay, even the Captain has his "girl in every port", but Kaneis' response is so flippant Asbel can't help but be taken aback. Is he really so interested in women that true friends mean so little? That's sort of what it sounds like. But wait a minute, Kaneis. You share an apartment with Cheria! And Sophie! It's not that Asbel believes Kaneis would do anything - he's definitely not that type of person - but now that he's dropped a statement like that, Asbel can't stop thinking.]
[His shoulders slump forward and the box drops by about a foot.] You can't--! Please tell me you're not...
[And yeah, it's a fairy tale, and the library's a good idea and all but. But...!]
Nope never
[He meanwhile looks over, amused. He puts his hand to his chin and tilts his head a little as he looks at Asbel]
Hm? Please tell you I'm not what?
Re: Nope never
[Asbel readjusts the box, trying to figure out exactly what it is he wants to say here. After a moment he frowns, looking not angry but vaguely troubled.]
[Pull yourself together, Asbel. You can trust Kaneis.]
no subject
Mind reading's not one of my powers, so you're gonna have to say it.
no subject
You're not serious, right? I guess there's times when you might want someone around for...for that sort of thing. But it's not really the same as having people you can rely on, is it?
no subject
[And he considers, there's something hard to read in his eyes. But soon it's gone, and he just smirks again]
Well, I could tell you my thoughts...but maybe it'd be better to figure it out on your own.
[And he starts to walk again]
Come on, let's go before your arms really do give out.
no subject
[Asbel doesn't know what it means. The only vibe he's really getting is that he's hit some sort of a dead end. But if Kaneis isn't going to talk, that probably means he expects Asbel to be able to figure this out on his own, right? He nods finally, watching him.]
...All right. If you want.
[Mulling this over for a moment longer, Asbel then uses his knee to hoist the box back up and heads down the hall once more. It's difficult if not impossible to switch back into something entirely upbeat, but he does make an effort, at least.]
It's not my arms I'm worried about. [His back'll snap in half first.]
no subject
Arms, back, legs- whatever!
[Around another corner and they reach the door! He'll dig out his keys and unlock the door, holding it open for him.]
Just put it on an empty shelf or something
no subject
Is that really the kind of attitude a person should be taking in a medical clinic?
[And here they are. With a nod and a "got it", Asbel strides in, peers around the edges of the box to find an appropriate spot, and lowers it into place. There. Now. NOW they're finished. Thank Gloandi.]
no subject
[And hey he did it] Hey good job! Thanks again.
no subject
[Somehow.]
No problem. Anyway, it's getting pretty late. I'll see you around, Kaneis.
[He'll offer a smile before turning to go. Asbel can navigate his way out from here.]
