Location: Transport Clinic
Characters: Zelos/Kaneis and you!
Summary: Evening/Night shift at the clinic. All welcomed, whether they be checking out the clinic, working at the clinic or that unfortunate dude who put their weapon in a very wrong spot.
Warnings: PG-13 for language and possible gore since hey IT IS A CLINIC.

[No matter how strange Zelos's life get, he can always count on his clinic shifts being one of two things: incredibly boring or incredibly strange. There was no middle ground.]

[Any night that you come in, you'll probably find Zelos sitting at the reception desk, with his feet on top if none of his bosses are around. If he's not attending to any patients or talking to staff, he seems to be reading- looks like the flavor of this month for literature is fantasy. And sometimes, he even seems to be talking to the book]

Oh come on Buttercup my beautiful flower, there's no way he'll actually release him. Jeez...

[And so on. Rest assured guys, this is a professional medic here. You can tell by the lab coat. ]

It really isn't. I seem to have terrible luck with trying to get something normal.

With a mercenary job that doesn't surprise me. You never know though, after everything here is taken care of on this world maybe you'll finally be able to settle down and live a peaceful life.

Heh...thanks, but...somehow I don't think that's in the cards for me.

[cradlerobbed]

[ Sort of pessimistic, but this guy doesn't strike him as brimming with optimism. Besides, he can't really blame anyone for not feeling that way with everything crazy that seemed to be going on here.

Still, he's gotta ask... ]

[he shrugs while picking up his coffee mug to drink from]

Because I'm dead?

[cradlerobbed]

[ Well that sure wasn't the answer he'd expected to hear.

He gives a nervous smile, like he thinks Zelos is joking. ... He kind of does, because the guy sure doesn't look dead to him. ]

What?

[Oh yes. They always think he's joking]

I'm dead.

Well, not at this second but I died back home. The Initiative brought me back to help fight in their war, annnd I'm guessing once I'm done, I go back to pushing daisies.

[cradlerobbed]

[ I'd say life is rough like that, but... well... ]

They wouldn't seriously just send you back to that after dragging you here and asking for your help, would they?

Why wouldn't they? Already happened to a few dead folks.

[cradlerobbed]

[ He looks somewhere between horrified and upset. ]

How could they do that?!

[wilder]

Because people suck? I don't really know how to answer that.

[cradlerobbed]

[ He's staring down at the counter now. ]

Sorry, I wasn't actually expecting you to be able to, just...

[ He wasn't overly excited about being brought here in the first place, but he's rapidly losing trust in the Initiative, who he didn't really trust in the first place. ]

It's cool, I get it.

[it really is a sucky situation after all.]

The UE needs to be taken down, but the Initiative's not exactly a paragon of justice and love either. [He shrugs] How war's work I guess.

[cradlerobbed]

[ No kidding. ]

It shouldn't be. No matter how awful war is, it shouldn't ever be like this. There's no reason to ever toss people aside after you don't need their help.

[wilder]

[There's a pause from Zelos when Jude makes that proclamation before he looks up and smiles at him..in a way that isn't really smiling at all]

Yeah well, things and people don't work by the rules of should and shouldn't. If they did? We wouldn't even need to be here.

So...unless you got an actual idea of how to stop it from happening, that's how it is.

[ Yeah, he can be clueless sometimes, but he's not that people dumb. He gets that Zelos isn't actually smiling or happy about this situation. How could he be? ]

I do... and I would think it'd be an obvious one to the Initiative too. Offer people like you a chance to stay on this world after you've managed to help save it. I mean, it's not a perfect one, and I don't know if there's any way to actually send people back to their worlds and keep them alive which would be the better alternative, but if they want you to save them then it's only fair they extend and offer like that.

Hm...

Not bad. I wonder why they haven't offered it.

[cradlerobbed]

[ He looks down at that comment. Staring holes into the countertop as he tries to figure out what his feelings on the Initiative is now after hearing this. ]
