exsiliumlogs | OPERATION SEXY MARIO: CONCLUSION

Date & Time: Sept 19th
Location: The UE Holding Compound, and surrounding area.
Characters: Anyone being rescued, doing the rescuing, or doing the distracting.
Summary: There have been some slackers freeloading off the UE for the past couple weeks or so, so let's go drag them home.
Warnings: Likely violence! Let a mod know if we should update this.

Those meant for distraction and those meant for rescue alike are both loaded onto the same stolen highspeed train. It's a great distance to cover, but the train manages in just under two hours, and deposits both groups three miles from the Holding Compound — a desolate and cold area, with rocky, uneven ground, small but jagged hills well-scattered and covered in scraggly trees — and there they part ways.

The diversion is sent away north, to draw United Earth attention and aggression upward, further into the continent, while the rescue team takes a much slower and quieter route to approach the Compound from the south, closest to Exsilium. The rescue team's orders are to wait a full half hour, to be sure that all forces who can be drawn out of the Compound to meet the sudden onslaught from the north will have already left.

The diversion team won't have an easy job of it. The soldiers are heavily armed, and trained to fight to the death before they surrender. They're grouped in organized squadrons, about 20 in each, and seem to outnumber Transports by three to one. Scattered throughout these soldiers are the Masked, the UE's special forces. These soldiers strike with a deadly precision, enhanced speed and strength, and highly advanced weaponry. Also, oddly enough, they seem to have a few smaller members among them, standing about 4 feet tall, and wielding strange powers… Those familiar with the powers of their kidnapped friends may see distinct similarities.

The Compound itself, when the rescue team makes their way in, will be very quiet. All prisoners had been forced into locked rooms (together or separately — whatever was most convenient) before the soldiers had left to face the encroaching threat. There are still personnel left to man the base, of course, and a few of them are armed soldiers — but for the most part it's scientists and researchers. Careful, though. Even scientists and researchers are perfectly capable of sounding the alarm to bring back the armed threats.

Once everyone is out of the Compound, the train will begin running a return trip. It will be kept as long as possible, while the distraction teams sneak back from the battlefield in small groups, but it can't wait forever. Those on the battlefield for the longest, the hardest hitters or the most dedicated fighters, might just have to find another way home. So… any Transports with relocation abilities feel like lending a hand?

Yeah. I said I'm going to do my best by you and I still mean it.

[She leans in and kisses him again.] Come on, we're not going to let this beat us, right? You don't want to give this up either.

Of course not. [He has to say something, even if he thinks he doesn't deserve to say that answer. Not after what he did. If he didn't respond, she'd take it the wrong way. But it's like she said--they can fix it. Together, like they always had.

His hand touches her injured thigh again gently.]

There are healers around, you know. You should get it fixed.

[She smiles a little, adapting his mannerisms just for a moment.]

I'll get it looked at in a bit. Shouldn't you rest?

[He is exhausted. But he hasn't seen her in a while.]

I was, earlier! It's hard to take a nap in a place like this, though.

[She lets go of one hand to reach up and stroke back his hair.] I'll stay here so you can rest.

[He closes his eyes to enjoy the feel of her fingers.]

I might fall asleep on you.

Then get comfortable, idiot. [She keeps running her fingers through his hair to encourage him to relax.]

[He sits himself beside her, leaning against her side.]

If I get too comfortable, I'll drool on you.

Like a happy cat, huh? Or a dog...

[She takes his hand and holds it between them, leaning her head against his.]

Hey, hey! I'm not a pet!

If I scratched your head right now, I bet you'd just fall over in my lap.

Now that's an exaggeration. Kido's getting too invested in the idea of me being a cat.

[She reaches up and starts scratching her scalp, running her fingers through his hair and rubbing gentle skins into the skin.]

[Ah??? That feels nice?]

--oi, what're you doing?

Proving my point. It's nice, right? I bet you want to curl up right now.

[Still doing it, by the way. Enjoy a scalp massage.]

[IGNORING HOW RELAXING IT FEELS--]

Honestly, honestly! I have more self-control than that!

Hmm? Really?

[Now she's rubbing his neck and working down to his shoulders, too. She's surprisingly good at massages.]

Ah-- [He exhales slowly.] --hey, Kido shouldn't be so obvious in public...

[She sneaks in a kiss to his ear.] What? Do you want me to stop?

[He turns his head so he can kiss her cheek.] You're just trying to get me to lay down.

[She smiles and this time kisses his lips.] Is it working?

Kido's been really eager to put her hands on me, huh? Right after being rescued, too! How fast, how fast of her.

I hear you talking a lot but I don't hear any complaining in it.

[And maybe she is eager to touch him and affirm that he's really okay, that all her thoughts from before were just a nightmare. He's fine and he's here. That's all that matters.]

[He isn't complaining because he can't. Her touch is a reaffirmation that everything's back to the way it was, ordinary and smooth as it always had been. The kidnapping and that spoiled date... it never happened. Just a bad dream.]

I can't. Kido's jumping all over me without giving me a chance to rest.

Just put your head down, idiot. You're just as tired as me.
