Location: The Observatory.

Summary: New Transports arrive and are shuffled into the Observatory after their initial briefings.
Warnings: None.

Your arrival here has been very unceremonious. One second you were somewhere else, and now, very suddenly, your feet hit the glowing white of the Transporter pad, and you're here. You aren't alone, either. There's a crowd of others around you, each seeming just as bewildered, angry, or confused as you might feel. At the head of the group is a woman in purple robes, solemn and taciturn. She hurries over a quick overview of your intended purpose here, and gives direct answers when asked for them, but to most things she simply shows you how to access the tablet you've just been given, or tells you that the DITR's greeters will explain everything. On the tablet, you can find the history of this place and a record of what your new cohorts have experienced. Someone stands on hand to give you a weapon, and though the armory is now greatly reduced, you should be able to find something to suit you.

You're shepherded down a walkway tunnel and into the Observatory, where you will find screens mounted on three sides of the wide room; they show multiple variations of satellite images, focused on... somewhere snowy. It's difficult to say more than that, but those that record heat readings seem to suggest there are people there, where ever "there" is. It's night outside the great wide windows, and the lunar landscape isn't much to look at right now. But, hey, at least all the lights are on, right? No more creepy red emergency lighting upon arrival — not that you'd know anything about that.

You're free to explore the base, visit and use any of the VR rooms, or discover your new room and roommates, but try not to step out of any airlocks if oxygen is a requirement for your system.

What do you know about Greek mythology?

I know what school teaches, the essentials.

( like the stories and such. she was never really interested in them, mostly because of how weird they often got, especially the gods. )

Yeah, well, they're not just stories. My dad is Hades, the god of the Underworld.

I assume you don't have much of a father-son relationship with him do you?

( not that she fully accepts it but he has to be something other than human. )

[ He stuffs his free hand in his pocket, blowing out a gust of air in a sigh. It's important because he can't sense the Underworld or his father. It's important because his last memory was of taking the Athena Parthenos on the beginning of its journey across the world with only half a month left until the Feast of Spes and Gaea's promised awakening.

He can't tell if the two are connected to the United Earth's global domination of the planet or the Initiative's objective, but until he knows more, every abnormality must be catalogued. ]

Death is my area of specialty. I don't like running into things I don't know about.

Is that all you know?

( homura takes another bite of bread before reaching out to get a slice of cheese. she gobbles it down in a very odd manner and then returns back to staring at nico. )

Death. Is that what your world is full of?

[ In the end he pockets the apple too. He doesn't want to stand here and eat in front of other people. ]

I thought your story would be more like the Greek stories, you know you are son of the lord of the dead but you live a normal life without knowing and something strange happens and so forth. Like Hercules or something like that.

Did you pay any attention to Heracles's story? His life sucked. For that matter, so does Heracles.

[ Hazel told him about what an award-winning jerk Heracles was when they entered the Mediterranean and he is really not surprised. ]

I have to ask, how much of your powers are you able to use here?

[ He eyes her suspiciously ]

Why do you want to know?

Not what powers you have, but how much power you can use here.

( she needs to know because she hasn't been alone enough to pull out her soul gem and try out things. )

[ He can't admit that he hasn't tried to push his limits yet, because it exhausts him. Instead he settles on a neutral answer. ]

I haven't had an opportunity to find out yet.
