Location: The Observatory.
Characters: Everyone.
Summary: New Transports arrive and are shuffled into the Observatory after their initial briefings.
Warnings: None.

Your arrival here has been very unceremonious. One second you were somewhere else, and now, very suddenly, your feet hit the glowing white of the Transporter pad, and you're here. You aren't alone, either. There's a crowd of others around you, each seeming just as bewildered, angry, or confused as you might feel. At the head of the group is a woman in purple robes, solemn and taciturn. She hurries over a quick overview of your intended purpose here, and gives direct answers when asked for them, but to most things she simply shows you how to access the tablet you've just been given, or tells you that the DITR's greeters will explain everything. On the tablet, you can find the history of this place and a record of what your new cohorts have experienced. Someone stands on hand to give you a weapon, and though the armory is now greatly reduced, you should be able to find something to suit you.

You're shepherded down a walkway tunnel and into the Observatory, where you will find screens mounted on three sides of the wide room; they show multiple variations of satellite images, focused on... somewhere snowy. It's difficult to say more than that, but those that record heat readings seem to suggest there are people there, where ever "there" is. It's night outside the great wide windows, and the lunar landscape isn't much to look at right now. But, hey, at least all the lights are on, right? No more creepy red emergency lighting upon arrival — not that you'd know anything about that.

You're free to explore the base, visit and use any of the VR rooms, or discover your new room and roommates, but try not to step out of any airlocks if oxygen is a requirement for your system.

[ see, most men would be surprised at this sort of reaction but he's quite used to this. so he knows how to handle when someone is like this. he gingerly holds her hand, but the grasp is still there to show his strength. it's something that feels protective and secure without seeming tense. ]

No, it's surely mine. It's a man's duty to help a woman in need, so neglecting such a thing, it would be dishonorable of me to do so. Do you know what unit you're staying in?

[ Kougyoku bites her lip. His hold on her hand is just like Sinbad's. It makes her heart skip a beat, but it's comforting to experience something familiar. ]

Luckily for the both of us, I know where that is. [ he looks away from her briefly to his little red bird. ] Beni, if I make a wrong turn, navigate us back. [ Beni ruffles his feathers before he replies. ] Got it!

Let's go, then. [ he smiles at her before he starts walking. he makes sure he doesn't walk too fast and not too slow. ] So, what sort of things do you like to do, Kougyoku?

M-my hobbies aren't of much interest, Koujaku. They would surely bore you.

[ More like they are embarrassing!? She likes playing by herself, come on. ]

But aside from fighting, I suppose I like... trying on clothes. [ Leaving out how she likes playing kendama and make-believe, stalking other people and rolling around in her room eating peaches. ] Oh, it must be very silly to a man!

[ at first he thinks she could be dodging the question, but putting the other context together he realizes she is just shy. He shakes his head at the comment on clothing. ]

Actually, I've very into women's fashion. [ YANA IT'S CANON DON'T TALK TO ME. ] I think it's very admirable when a woman takes the time to look beautiful and puts effort into how she presents herself.

[ Her face is in a constant state of red. Wow, she's falling for him hard. Kim, I'm not even going to, oh my god. ]

Well, I, I like it a lot. Things like fixing my hair, putting on makeup... I give them my all.

[ Because they're all she has. Life is boring when you have no friends. ]

Really? I can tell. My livelihood is hairstyling, and I do have to comment on your hair being very pretty. You really must take care of it well. Maybe one day you can do me the honor of letting me style it for you.

[ It's Ka Koubun and the court ladies who do that! But she'll take all the credit, why not. He's praising her so much already. ]

Ah! I would love that! I'd love it a lot, Koujaku! [ oh no, she needs to tone it down ] I... my hair is very long, so sometimes I have trouble...

[ he's amused at her response, but he chuckles briefly. ]

I find women with long hair very elegant and feminine. After all, a woman's life is in her hair. [ and at the trouble managing it. ] Maybe I can give you some tips on how to make it easier, but from what I can tell, you're doing a great job.

[ He says such good things about women and hair! She's practically giving off pink rukh or something. ]

You flatter me... I am sure anything you have to say will only make any woman bloom even more.

[ Was that line good!? Yeahhhh, she's going with that. ]

[ what a cute line about women. he'll give her props for that!! ]

Does that include you? Women should know they're special and treasures, so being told nice things, it's important. [ he makes a little turn around the corner. ] If this moonbase had a good shopping center, I'd surely offer to take you there.

O-of course! [ She doesn't want to disappoint him! And it's true, anyway. She follows him, but glances at Beni. ]

A shopping center? Ah, it has been a while since I've been to one. The vibrant colors and smells...

Same. I've been here for a month, and sadly the moon can't compare to back home. [ for a variety of reasons, but the he misses the neighborhood and his fellow benishigure members. ]

At least I've me some wonderful people here, though. You might run into people you know, so keeping an eye out is important.

[ Beni made no sound, which means they're on the right track. She's hoping the bird makes a mistake, though. She'd like to walk with Koujaku a little longer. ]

...I have run into many people who recognize me, but I don't ever recall meeting them before. [ She frowns, upset that she would forget a few friends. ] Was it the same for you?

[ oh she looks sad. his face turns to one of concern and obvious empathy. ]

No, but I've heard sometimes that happens sometimes. [ he fixes one of his bangs. ] This place defies the usually logic and rules we rely on in our own lives. I can't ask you not to feel guilty, but I can at least say do not be too hard on yourself as you didn't intend or want any of this to happen. [ but he tries to finish it on a happier note. ] You're a strong young woman, so you'll find a way to bounce back and learn from this all.

You didn't invite pity at all. Coming here is an overwhelming experience that hard for all of us because of the different difficulties we have. I came here with my own -- we all do, so I don't hold it against you.

[ it looks like they're getting closer, but... it seems like she wants to talk. ] Just try to get some rest and settle your thoughts and emotions the best you can. If you ever need someone to talk to, I'll do my best to help. Please don't hesitate to ask, because I know sometimes asking for help is the hardest thing to do.

[ Ah, she sounds like a broken record. (Not that she knows what that is.) She should say something else—oh! She knows. She squeezes his hand. ]

[ oh wow she's... his heart warms a little and he's touched. ah, cute girls like this!! it warms his heart. this is why it's so important to treat them all well and like treasures. ] You're welcome, and I meeting and getting to know you, it a very good reward.

[ his eyes widen at the squeeze, a little taken aback since she's been pretty passive and shy. she really wants to try, so he can't help to at least want to make sure to show he appreciates the gesture. ] I'll remember that, especially since we made a promise to be allies in battle right? [ and of course beni is going to comment. ] This idiot needs all the help that he can get!

[ Kougyoku gasps then chuckles, feeling that she has truly made a connection with him. He said getting to know her was a reward! She will certainly contact him and look forward to his company in the near future. ]

Mm, and I'll fulfill that promise. [ It looks like they've reached their destination. Although reluctant to leave, she loosens her hold on his hand. ] Well, I suppose this is goodbye... for now.

[ he looks and sees they really have. ] Yes, for now. You can always contact me with the tablet, but before that, make sure you get some rest. [ he bends over a little, reaching out the hand she's withdrawing. he gives it a quick peck before he lets go of it and stands up again. ]

I'll see you again, Kougyoku. [ and he turns around, starting to walk away. after a few steps, he stops walking, turns half of his body around, and gives her a wink. he then continues walking down the hall back to the arrival area. ]

[ Kougyoku simply lets everything happen and watches him the entire time, frozen, red and speechless. When he finally leaves, she hides her face behind her sleeves and curls up in a ball.

KOUJAKU KISSED HER HAND AND WINKED AT HER KYAAAAAA ]
