[Rosette begins to frown. She doesn't do well with cryptic. As much as it's probably not her business, she can't help blurting out a line of questions.]

Time for what? You knew this was going to happen?

Ah... you may remember not long ago that there was an anonymous post on the network asking if anyone had experience with demons, specifically exorcising or sealing them. That was Walker...

It isn't precisely a demon, but he carries inside him a "memory", something rather like a spirit I suppose, that is trying to.. erase him.

[ Chrono takes the initiative of actually stepping into the room while Rosette asks the questions. He's not particularly surprised about the network post, considering the current situation.

It's once he's in the room proper that his feet come to a rather abrupt halt. No, this certainly isn't a demon in the way they know demons. But it has the hair at the back of his neck standing on end, and if demons could physically bristle, he would.

Whatever this is, he doesn't like it. ]

[ Tightly, ] Rosette.

[She couldn't feel whatever set Chrono's guard up, but she trusted it all the same. Her hand was solidly on the grip of her pistol as she enters after him. Still far enough behind that his reflexes could stop an attack... should the boy be no longer.]

[She hesitates a long moment, staring down at him, a lump forming in her throat. She looks up at Link with determination.]

Do you want help? Or have you arranged it?

[He frowns slightly with his own discomfort at how on-guard they are, but he knows it isn't wrong to take precaution, so he doesn't comment on it, instead answering Rosette]

Nothing was arranged that would work out while he's in this state, since he meant to speak with those who offered himself, I believe. You said there is something you can do--a Dive?

[overclocking]

[ Chrono moves to circle Allen a few times, distaste obvious in every line of his posture and expression, but his head jerks up at 'Dive'. ]

No. [ Sharply, knee-jerk. ] Not with this one. It's too dangerous.

We should find another way.

[She frowns at that... but doesn't argue immediately.]

If I... [She doesn't say it, but her hand closes around the watch.]

Do you think you could free the spirit?

[overclocking]

[ He scrutinizes Allen for a long moment, brow furrowed. He's never felt a presence quite like this one before. It's almost like facing a Viscount, but it sends a feeling of cold dread down his spine that he can't recall ever experiencing before, even when facing down dozens of them at once. This isn't going to be like banishing a poltergeist from an amulet.

He really wishes people with pre-existing possessions would be more up-front about their roommates. ]

... I honestly don't know.

[She casts a quick look at Howard Link.... And decides not to wait.

She cracks open the seal.]

[ He grimaces as her hand reaches for the watch, but it seems they're in wordless, mutual agreement that someone in this room might die if intervention doesn't happen. "The salvation of one's soul requires sacrifice," indeed. Haah.

He'll just have to be fast.

He crouches by Allen's side before the astral-static of the broken seal has even faded, mouth pressed thin and gathering his concentration. ]

Move away from him.

[She takes one step back, then another. And quite casually finds the room's chair to settle into. Around her neck, the watch speeds up, ticking loudly.]

[Startles when Chrono suddenly switches from child-like to adult demony form, starting to look rather unsure himself and a bit reluctant to move away from Allen. He steps back only the bare minimum necessary, hands instinctively prepared to bring out his talismans.]

What result should we be expecting, if that Memory can be freed?

[ At least you follow directions better than Kevin, Howard Link. Four for you. ]

I don't know where this demon originates from, so I can't send it back to its original plane. [ - Probably couldn't have in this strange future-time bubble anyway, but he spares that little thought - ] So, most likely, we'll be dealing with an angry, freed demon.

But it won't be in Allen's head anymore.

When that happens, we'll be ready.

[She pulls one of her guns free and rests it on her lap, for now.]

[Ah... Well, honestly that would be perfect, if it could be done, though if the 14th wouldn't have a body in that state...]

[...he stops himself from entertaining that hypothetical any farther. They have to worry about Walker first. He readies his binding talismans properly and nods.]

It might be? Most spirits that are strong enough for a possession can manage intelligent conversation.

Very little consideration goes into the astral barrier that erupts right in Kevin's face, other than 'angels cannot follow directions properly.' ]

[RUDE. He steps back, rubbing his nose. Why is it tall? Why is it as gorgeous as every single useless demon that has ever chased after young master? More out of instinct than anything, he raises his index finger to the ceiling, ready to bring divine's wrath down on Chrono's head.

He will scorch it to the ground, the cheap seducer of nuns.

KEVIN! Don't!

[She's out of her chair, but the effort has left her visibly winded.]

[ Chrono side-steps until he's between them, urging Rosette back down with one arm. His expression is a cold wall of I double-dare you motherfucker. ]

I told you to step back. The only person who might be hurt is the demon.

[At Rosette's request, he lets his arm fall by his side, giving her an honestly astonished look. Then he raises his eyes up at the polluted spirit, glaring daggers at it.]

Who are you trying to fool? You are killing her!

[He points at the ticking device. He doesn't trust any solution that involves demons. Never did.]

He's not. I opened the seal, to try to save someone else's life.
