EVENT: HERE THERE BE MONSTERS
Date & Time: October 24 - October 31
Location: Throughout Exsilium
Characters: ALL; tag yourselves in
Summary: The Transports return from their mission to find the island crawling with monsters.
Warnings: Violence, possibly injuries (notify a mod if there's cause to add a particular warning!)
The Transports return from their mission to Medieval Russia, but the Initiative Hold is eerily deserted. Normally, their would be a number of Initiative personnel prepared to meet the Transports at the end of their mission for debriefing.
Instead, there is only silence.
That is, until a distant thumping sound can be heard. It is growing closer, and suddenly the beast is bursting into the room. It lets out a roar and charges. Within minutes, it is easily defeated, but damage has already been done -- it collided with the Transporter machine, which is now making a low fizzling sound and lets off a couple sparks. The commotion is enough to draw the attention of the few remaining Initiative personnel who still inhabit the Hold, who arrive immediately afterwards. They are able to tell the Transports two things: that the machine is broken and currently unable to sent anyone back in time, and that the island has been overrun with aggressive, mutated beasts sent by the United Earth. They have been under siege for months, with the island's population reduced to a mere fraction of what it had once been.

NPCs, Arthas or even both works, I dont mind eridan getting injured
The sight of approaching beasts, even if they are much more grotesque and y'know undead than the others, just provokes a reaction from him in the same way the rest had. He sweeps his wand outwards and a stream of angelic fire follows the direction of the gesture he makes with his weapon straight from the tip, washing outwards and over the closest enemies he sees. Koltira had mentioned holy magic and fire are both effective against the undead, so he's pretty confident both combined should be even better.
He doesn't know someone's pulling the strings here; all he sees are enemies to fight off. Nothing more.]
We'll go with both!
Meanwhile, the flash of holy light gets Arthas' attention in a bad way, halting his march to glare at Eridan across the way. His horde around him also halts, pacing impatiently. He would wait to see what he would do with the two hounds attacking him before calling them off -- or letting them continue.
Either way, he doesn't care. But this one might be worth talking to.]
Re: We'll go with both!
At that point, as he ascends, it's just a case of aiming downwards and once again willing his wand to spit white fire from the tip and wash over the two creatures below him, like a tide of unrelenting flames. He's floating just a bit above the horde below him now, weapon in hand and body cast in an ethereal aura.]
These things are a pain in the ass.
[Though, again, said to noone in particular. He's way too focused on keeping himself alive than anything else.]
no subject
The Lich King calls from the distance:]
They're also hungry.
[Eridan, you gotta slow your roll with that aura you got going on, you'll give people the wrong impression.]
no subject
Yeah? Well you can fuck off an' bring 'em with you then find somethin' else to feed 'em cause I ain't on the Menu.
As long as they keep comin' I'm gonna burn through this little rally a yours like nothin'.
no subject
[That's fine. If Eridan's watching, he might be able to duck the sudden whip of shadow magic that snaps out towards him like a constricting vine. If it happens to connect, he will find himself being ripped out of the sky and straight into Arthas' hand at swordpoint.
As well, wherever the magic happened to catch would what body part Arthas would find in his hand -- he was aiming for the neck, of course, in which case Frostmourne will rest against the troll's stomach.
The dogs surrounding Arthas follow Eridan's movements carefully, but they do not charge.]
I suggest...you do away with your arrogance in my presence and cease testing of the shallow waters of my patience, lest I gut you and absolve you of any life and future you hope to keep.
no subject
Hope? [A scoff, and the corner of his lips rise into a sneer.] The only one makin' those sorta decrees ower hope around here is me.
[Towards Arthas this time he directs his wrath, the blazing streaks of white light burning from his arm and weapon surrounding him once more as opens fire on him, another onslaught of white flames, yet as opposed to the more compact yet concentrated bolts of white lightning before, he goes full force and fires off something more akin to this. In fact, chances are a lot of the surrounding environment and anything else stupid enough to be caught in the line of fire is going to suffer as well, although what sort of effect it has on Arthas himself...Eridan doesn't really know. He doesn't know how powerful he is after all.]
