EVENT: HERE THERE BE MONSTERS

Date & Time: October 24 - October 31
Location: Throughout Exsilium
Characters: ALL; tag yourselves in
Summary: The Transports return from their mission to find the island crawling with monsters.
Warnings: Violence, possibly injuries (notify a mod if there's cause to add a particular warning!)

The Transports return from their mission to Medieval Russia, but the Initiative Hold is eerily deserted. Normally, their would be a number of Initiative personnel prepared to meet the Transports at the end of their mission for debriefing.

Instead, there is only silence.

That is, until a distant thumping sound can be heard. It is growing closer, and suddenly the beast is bursting into the room. It lets out a roar and charges. Within minutes, it is easily defeated, but damage has already been done -- it collided with the Transporter machine, which is now making a low fizzling sound and lets off a couple sparks. The commotion is enough to draw the attention of the few remaining Initiative personnel who still inhabit the Hold, who arrive immediately afterwards. They are able to tell the Transports two things: that the machine is broken and currently unable to sent anyone back in time, and that the island has been overrun with aggressive, mutated beasts sent by the United Earth. They have been under siege for months, with the island's population reduced to a mere fraction of what it had once been.

[Arthas doesn't miss the comet in the sky that is Tony Stark, and it causes him to narrow his frosty blue eyes. Gross. Gnomish engineering. Or worse -- goblin engineering. In this case, the latter might be better, as it would have about a sixty percent chance of exploding before it did anything useful.

He's not going to approach this one if he doesn't have to. The tablets had taught him that technology is not his friend. He'll let his horde do the work.

When Tony gets close enough, he will find a horde surrounding him, at least two of them trying to jump up and drag him to their level. With their teeth.]

[ excuze u he is well within average height hdu call him a gnome or a goblin.

He totally does find a horde surrounding him, and what fun that looks like it'll be, particularly when one of them manages to drag him down enough that he needs to choose very quickly between a rough landing and a rougher trip through the wrong side of a thing that he decided looked solid enough to avoid hitting if he could help it. Of course, this then meant landing, but at least it hadn't meant crashing into the horde only to be immediately pulled apart and used as bird food. Or whatever.

Tony is, at least, able to land with guns and all sorts of little rockets taking out those far enough out to not damage him with the explosions, yet close enough to have potentially been an issue. Others are dealt with on a hand-to-hand basis for as long as he can handle it, trying to work out a better plan or remember who he saw nearby with whom he could coordinate. ]

[The beasts already on Tony will continue to try and tear at him until they are punched away. While the pack descends on him, Arthas sits back to watch with an amused smirk.

Still, its a chance to witness some of the technology in action. Technology is an awkward breed of beast, and its an advantage this world has on him. For now, anyway.

But in the mean time, Tony will have one of the monsters trying to test how strong the metal is surrounding those damn hand canons.]

[ He's pretty decent at the hand to hand at this point, particularly given the whole 'I can't really feel what you're doing anyway' aspect to being on the right side of a lifesize metal suit. Also helps that he's got mini-rockets and a steady series of repulsor blasts to work with.

So that makes it pretty predictable that at least one of them would attempt to bite and tear at the source of the pain and defense. Makes it a little easier to shoot them in the face. The first one, anyway. But the one that really goes for it, that one requires a punch to the face to try and lose. ]
