Summary: The Transports return from their mission to find the island crawling with monsters.
Warnings: Violence, possibly injuries (notify a mod if there's cause to add a particular warning!)

The Transports return from their mission to Medieval Russia, but the Initiative Hold is eerily deserted. Normally, their would be a number of Initiative personnel prepared to meet the Transports at the end of their mission for debriefing.

Instead, there is only silence.

That is, until a distant thumping sound can be heard. It is growing closer, and suddenly the beast is bursting into the room. It lets out a roar and charges. Within minutes, it is easily defeated, but damage has already been done -- it collided with the Transporter machine, which is now making a low fizzling sound and lets off a couple sparks. The commotion is enough to draw the attention of the few remaining Initiative personnel who still inhabit the Hold, who arrive immediately afterwards. They are able to tell the Transports two things: that the machine is broken and currently unable to sent anyone back in time, and that the island has been overrun with aggressive, mutated beasts sent by the United Earth. They have been under siege for months, with the island's population reduced to a mere fraction of what it had once been.

[ good girl, excellent, he can probably fly pretty well with only one stabilizer, he's flown with only one boot before right, same thing. either way, he holds her with one arm and takes off ]

[ she probably is. he could probably pick it up if she weren't, he's got pretty good mics he found here in Exsilium - one of the very very few bonuses to being surrounded by both retro and future tech: blending them together. ]

Here I thought you'd be able to handle it.

[ magical flight and teleportation are so much better. ]

[ she's had smoother rides with both her exs. ]

Am I supposed to take that as the only positive?

[ riding your exs is generally supposed to be rough ]

It's a pretty big positive. Are you going to complain the whole way?

[ you're so abusive, okay, jeez, he's just going to turn on the speed then, they'll land pretty quickly ]

[ sounds about right. Gamora steps away as soon as they've landed, sliding her sword out from the sheath. ]

I fight, you fly?

I can do both. I'm multi-talented.

I would never have guessed.

[ she's getting a feeling that it's just going to be too easy with him around. ]

[ he does have a habit of making things easier when he's involved, yes. that's the norm for him. ]

So, I flew us here. You come up with a plan while you were mooching?

Beyond kill the monsters?

I was thinking more like 'how to kill the monsters'.

I don't care as long as they're dead.

[ Expecting a 'how' out of Gamora is a bad idea - she goes in and she kills things. That's about it. ]

I didn't realize I'd been flying with such a strategist. Philosopher, even.

Should have waited for Quill and Adam if you wanted one of those.

And we'd either still be waiting back there or we'd be slowly walking over here.
