[Oh, she recognizes this little dude, even though he was a great deal more somber during their first meeting. She's got her reservations about this gesture of goodwill from what she believes to be their kidnappers, but if it cheers people up for a little while, she's not going to complain. Not tonight, anyway.

Even without a fancy outfit, Fang draws attention, and the crowd moves around her as she heads toward Larsa.] Hey, kiddo. Enjoying the party?

[ hearing her voice, he turns to look at her and smiles, ignoring the crowd as best he can. it's not surprising, that she gathers attention. Larsa would be a liar should he say that he wasn't a bit intimidated or fascinated, but he chose to show her that with his undivided attention when he was spoken to. ]

It is a welcome repose after so much tension.

[His diction makes her smile, but not in a mocking way. It's just so...high-class, for his age.] S'pose that's a yes, huh...I guess we all need something like this, here and there. Woulda preferred a gate out to home, but beggars can't be choosers.

[She looks up to the painted ceiling.] You know anything about this place, er, "France?" Can't say I've ever heard of it, but some folks are real excited about it.

France--while I do not know of it intimately, I read and was told that it is an extravagant country in this time period. It is reaching its highest point. The home we reside in is named the 'Palace of Versailles'. It is known as the central focus for many political affairs at this time, particularly regarding the King and Queen of France. If I am not mistaken, King Louis XV reigns for two more years before he will pass away.

[ ever wonder what Larsa does in his spare time when not making potions or drawing? reading. reading is good for the mind--especially history books. ]

Huh. [She looks impressed.] You've done your research, I'm guessing. Hey, if this is supposed to be a place for royals...where are they? Did the Initiative clear them out before we got here, I wonder?

I must fill the day somehow, without my usual duties.

As for the royals... I would imagine they are on an expedition of their own. The Initiative likely has no control over where they go.

Maybe so, but...no guards, either? It's a little fishy... [To say the least. She's going to poke around this place later.

Either way, she turns her attention to something else.] Your usual duties? What do you do, anyway? Never thought to ask.

I would imagine they move with the royal family... but perhaps there is something odd. The Initiative seems disorganized. Perhaps there is something they did not take into consideration.

[ he tenses at her question, looking at her with a startled expression.

he keeps not expecting that question. when she poses it, he's 100% sure, by her demeanor, that she is not a part of high-class society (or at least his kind of high-class society, which isn't a bad thing and Larsa definitely doesn't think of it in a condescending manner; he just looks at Fang and cannot see her being very fond of an Archadian High Tea Party and he can definitely see why) and the thought echoes in his head, as it always does--

What if she dislikes nobles? What if she finds them vile, power-grabbing persons with only their best interests at heart, and what if she regarded him as such? And if she thought that, would she give him a chance to explain that it had never been his title to bear in the first place, but only a result of his dead father and brother?

he likes Fang. she has a certain sort of strength that reminds him of Drace; the will of Ashe and her voice has a breezy casual tone that says Cerobi Steppe to him. he doesn't want to lie or hide things from her. so, after a moment, his small mouth twitches out of its frown to a hesitant, shy smile. ]

I am the Emperor of Archadia. There are many duties I have, such as commanding the Imperial Army and seeing that peaceful negotiations are set in place. Currently, my duties had been trying to bridge peace between my country and two others who found themselves in the midst of war only months ago. It may have not been relaxing, yet it filled every day with something to do. It is an... unwelcome change, now.

In many ways, visually, yes.

... not at all. The morale in Exsilium far exceeds the morale in my own home.

As a member of the [ ... ... er ] high class [ phew ] the traditional expectation was to be seen at many gatherings, and to gather many acquaintances.

This is a common event, yet, the feeling is comparatively different. Perhaps one or two individuals seek to further their own gain by attending, but the great majority attends to enjoy time together. Such is not yet a custom for Archadia.

I was merely asking. I am twelve-years-old.

Would you like to dance?

I'm not that much younger. [ Well, she thinks so. ]

Mii? [ After she and Sayaka wound up stepping on each other, she's afraid that trying again would be a bad idea. She's only familiar with certain traditional Japanese dances. ] ...I can't dance. Not the kind of dances that are appropriate for this occasion, anyway.

[ curious--dances not appropriate for dancing with a partner? ]

What are they like?

Well... one is called bon odori, where people line up in a circle, dance clockwise and sometimes counter clockwise. [ It's different between regions in her country. No having to hold any partner like a waltz though. ]

Then there is the dance for the watanagashi... the name translates to cotton-drifting. [ And a second meaning she refuses to bring up. ] That one is only performed by the shrine maiden alone, while everyone else watches.

I see... truly different from Archadia.

[ he thinks on this, honestly surprised and fascinated. ]

If I may--a shrine maiden?

Archadia? The name of your home?

[ A pause. She hasn't really talked much about herself to anyone. Pretty much she just gave away her role back home, but it shouldn't matter in this world. ] ...A priestess.

[ his eyebrows arch, but his lips turn upward. ]
