I couldn't tell you much about it outside of the compound, really...I hadn't been out on the field enough times to really know. But it was often cold... [his head tilts up as he thinks about it.] And the sun was much farther away than the one here. I didn't see any other buildings than the one I lived in...

What was the compound like, then?

It was big... [oh–] But not this big. And the open space was inside the walls so everything stayed closed up. There weren't any decorations or bright colors...just the stone.

The open space was for training...and then there was a place to sleep, a place to eat...Adam had books under the ground, past where the monsters were kept...
