( open ) our ag wing's back and you're gonna be in trouble (hey now! hey now! our ag wing's back)
Date & Time: October 31st, 3313, 11:59PM - November 3rd, 3313, ????
Location: Agriculture Wing, Moon Base to start. Cafeteria, warehouse, docking bay, VR rooms, Transport Pad, or Observatory later on.
Characters: Any & all!
Summary: Space Zombies are allowed out of the Agriculture Wing, slowly revving up their systems to try and infect and absorb as many of the Transports (or 12 Initiative Members) as possible.
Warnings: Log will be locked for potentially graphic violence. Please warn in threads should the violence or gore become graphic.
Notes: Specify a date and location in your top comment. You may specify multiple dates/locations. Specify a time if you wish as well.
Everything is a success at first, from the cool rush of air out of the Agriculture Wing once the doors are fully unlocked, to the heady sense of accomplishment for finally moving forward on something good for the long-term usability of the Moon Base. It's intended to remain a resource, after all, but not be a permanent home. Fraying tempers and the sense of cabin fever descending on Transports continues to showcase how important it is to get back down on Earth to regain some breathing room.
There's little enough dust between all the unmoving, unlit structures, many even supporting the barest dried husks of what once grew there. Upon the lightest touch, they disintegrate, turning into a dust that falls to the ground. The silent rows will be reclaimed and turned into functioning units, based on Transport efforts, and Transport time invested in the project.
There's just one problem. Something stirs in the reclaimed wing, among tangles of hosing and wiring. Skitterings and movements that make no sense for a long abandoned Moon Base. The further in Transports go, relying on magic or technology to generate light past the bare minimum maintained by the base, the more disturbing sights they may run into.
Of course, the most disturbing of all might be lying just around the far corner -- but don't worry, it's only a flesh wound. Try not to get surprised in the machinery, caught suffering from not looking up or caught making out with anything unsavory this holiday season, Transports. We need all of you to stay alive!
We can't bring you back right now!

heals + ice! (allumette honeycutt | final fantasy xiv oc | ota)
a;
Miss Allumette! Keep running! [She doesn't want to trap her by accident: she's not exactly a tidy fighter, especially with creatures like these.
She leads with energy bolts, but then she launches herself into the air, aiming a kick at the pack closest to Allumette. She'd stop them, and then they'd counterattack. Or escape, if they had to.]
no subject
ugh, but she hated healing. staying still was not her forte at all. it was the exact opposite of her forte. and yet, she didn't want to leave her student behind. she could attack and heal. she sighed, throwing her wand to the floor and letting it disappear, shaking her head free of wisps of light as her cane returned to her hand, and she rose it to cast a protection spell over tsubomi.
far away as she was, she could still fight. it was just better this way. ]
no subject
She recovers her bearings enough to get her feet under her and attack again. One from the left--she slides under one of the blade-like arms and, with a close-up Blossom Impact, blows it clear off. She's got to conserve her energy in places like this, so she works quickly, physical blows to stun and blasts to disable.]
no subject
she's proud of her skills. and she's proud of her student's, watching as petals of rose light expand and throw limbs elsewhere. she conjures heal again, to make sure she's kept in fighting order. ]
b.
She's about to open her mouth to thank her roommate when the snarl makes her head turn, eyes widening. Had they been found by that group she'd been running from? She scrambles to her feet.]
No. I'll be fine.
[Thanks to whatever it was Allu had done, Xion actually felt a lot better]
no subject
[ because allumette is walking backwards, but she has her cane raised. ]
I shall heal you, if you will fight.
no subject
I'm sure.
[Another moment's hesitation, and she calls on her Keyblade, it appearing in a flash of light. In her free hand, she does her best to gather what magic she can. There's only so much she can do before actually picking which element she wants to use, and she doesn't want to do that until she can see what all they're up against.]
no subject
a!
[Unfortunately, right now there are a lot of said undead monsters, which makes it not the path of least resistance when he could just... run away. Maybe he'll do that. As he turns to make a break down the hallway, however, he nearly trips over a diminutive figure.]
Ah--! [Catching himself on the wall, he glances down, then glances up.] Great. [Zombies that way too. He glances down at the little figure he nearly stepped on--wow, very little. Does she even clear four feet?] S-sorry--didn't see you there. [The zombies are getting closer. From both sides. Ugh, this is so not fun.
[Glancing down at his unexpected tiny company, Lea pushes away from the wall and straightens. There are other people nearby, so he can't get too flashy, but if he's going to get past these shambling creatures he's going to have to burn a path through them, it seems. He reaches down and taps the top of the small girl's head once, just enough to get her attention.]
Y'ain't scared of fire, are you? [Not that it really made a difference; it was burn them all or become brains alamode, but he figured he might as well give her a warning.]
no subject
she had to admit, though--the words he decided to use made the corner of her mouth quirk.
of course not, i'm an immortal flame of ul'dah. would be an apt choice of conversation.
if she were as theatrical as thancred. ]
Not at all.
Water is another subject altogether, though, to be up front.
[ as she speaks, she's quick to throw her wand away with ease, whipping her arm back and calling her cane to her hands, a whirl of magic changing her gear again. taking another step back, she waited until she could feel magic thrumming through her veins to cast protect. ]
no subject
[He pauses a moment while she... well, that's interesting, she can summon her weapons, too? Admittedly, he hasn't really been in a combat situation with most of the people he knows here outside of folks from home, but he has yet to see anyone not from home who could do that. Her magic doesn't feel quite the same as the sort he's used to, but it's similar enough that he finds himself wondering if her world isn't one of the ones he could have visited if he'd just kept up his travels. Curiouser and curiouser.
[The magic seems to be something of the support variety, though he can't quite put his finger on it. That's always nice; he rather sucks at barriers and reflect and such, so having someone around who doesn't? Yeah, he'll take that.]
I'll keep that in mind if we happen to encounter any sea monsters. In the meantime...
[He calls up his chakrams and quickly drops to the floor, slamming the weapons against the ground. A circle of flame erupts around the two of them, floor to ceiling, then spreads just far enough to catch about 75% of the encroaching hoard of creatures ablaze. It's obviously very controlled, and the flames are extinguished almost as quickly as they sprang up. He can't really risk going too wild, not knowing there could be other Transports just around the corners. He really hates fighting in tight spaces like this.]
no subject
Just cast, I pray you.
[ but when he does, she can't help but nearly jump in surprise; the move is not unlike her usual arm of the destroyer, except with flames instead of earth. she wishes she could use her other abilities in this form, but she hasn't gotten the chance to lock some abilities to her conjurer status.
but... his control is there. she relaxes all but her hands, keeping a white-knuckled grip on her cane. she's ready to call stone at a moment's notice, but steps closer to him at seeing the zombies shriek and flail. ]
no subject
[The creatures fall back, flailing and smoking, and the smell is almost enough to make him gag. Burning flesh is one thing... burning zombie flesh is a whole other level of Not Right. With a grunt, he presses the back of one hand against his nose.]
Eugh, here's hoping Undead Burgers won't be on the block party barbecue menu. [He pauses just long enough to kind of take inventory--the flailing caught most of the rest of them on fire, leaving them mostly clear to make a break for it. Still crouched where he had dropped for the attack, he takes a moment to look his company over briefly. She's not quite like anybody he's ever seen before; compact and sturdy, childlike in stature but very obviously not a child from how she carries herself. He ventures a shallow smile and gets back to his feet, staying sort of bent over long enough to offer his hand to shake hers.]
Name's Lea. Usually I prefer to make new friends with slightly less monsters and awfulness going on, but I guess that's the way the cookie crumbles.
no subject
I've no idea what to do with those bones. I'm sure I could never fend off that stench.
[ she shakes her head, looking towards lea quizzically. he isn't like most. he seems wild, despite not being so. he's controlled, with a fiery spirit, that much is certain. ]
Private Allumette Honeycutt, of the Immortal Flames.
[ and the scions. but her sultana came first. ]
Allumette is fine. It's a pleasure to meet you, despite it be in battle.
no subject
[His eyebrows inch upward at her title--private? Isn't that like... military something? Wow, no wonder she has such a powerful presence despite her small stature. He's half-tempted to make a joke on his old Organization epithet, since they're apparently on the subject of Flames of Varying Adjectives, but he'll refrain. For now.]
Likewise. Allumette, huh? Never seen anybody quite like you, and I've done a lot of traveling. I'd love to hear about your hometown sometime. [You can take the guy out of the Organization, but you can never quite take the Organization out of the guy. He'll always love recon, even if it's just for fun anymore.] I would recommend getting out of the line of, ah... fire. As it were. Before we have any discussions over tea. Were you headed anywhere in particular?
[He doesn't mind lending a hand to get her where she's going, since fire seems like the best way to get rid of these nasties.]
no subject
We struggle with resources as it is. It is important to use all we can. [ a smirk; she glances back. ] Though I hardly mean we should cut steaks out of them and serve them with popotoes. A bone wand would be strong enough for me to wield, and I've the resources to make them.
Anyroad, I was on my way to the place of observing, when I was accosted by these fiends. I've missed my mark--it's that way, if I remember the layout correctly.
[ she nods to the left, with a grimace. ]
My chocobo is settled there.
[ a pause. ]
Am I really so strange?
no subject
[He laughs somewhat helplessly.] Well, I guess I should clarify that even if you were headed somewhere in particular I'm not sure how much help I'd be. I only just got here and I'm still figuring my way around this place. [And then a tilt of his head as they continue walking.] Your whatnow? [He's not sure what a chocobo is, but he'll be making a crack about Cloud Strife's hair when he finally sees one.]
[And then a shake of his head.]
Never said strange, just unlike anybody I know. I think that's interesting. [He waves a hand.] Didn't mean any offense. I used to work in recon and never quite got out of the habit of wanting to know more about stuff I dunno about, is all.
no subject
[ her hand on her hip; ]
I hadn't meant that. It seems near everyone here has found me... interesting. It's strange when I am regarded as simply a normal Lalafell.
[ that hand waves in the air as she starts forwards. ]
It is no matter. I will answer any questions you have of me. It is nice, to reminisce, while I am torn away from home.
no subject
[He shakes his head then.] Nope, never heard of a chocobo, but I've seen big birds before. Never thought to ride one, but... [He smiles a bit then.] Just means maybe the worlds we know are a little smaller than the one you come from. [And he means that in a manner of diversity. Despite having traveled to many different worlds, the denizens of nearly all of them had been normal human beings.
[Lea falls into step half a pace behind her, keeping his strides slow to account for her significantly shorter legs.]
They got humantypes where you come from? Or is everyone a... Lalafell? Did I say that right?
no subject
Were I not otherwise educated, I'd think they were born with those muscles.
[ a beat. ]
I do not expect these races to make much sense to you, but I merely mean to say that there are quite a few races besides humans in my world.
[ she tries to slow down her gait; she's quick as a pugilist should be, and this human may be magically-inclined, but she's not sure what else he can do. it's best to play it safe. besides, her fleet-footed nature is, for the time being, altered. she'd have to shift back into her monk class before her skills would reset.
troublesome, she supposed, if they were found by a horde... ]
Is everyone a human where you come from? It seems that most come from worlds that are.
no subject
Taller than me? That's kind of impressive. There was one guy I worked with back home who kinda sounds like your.. Ro... Roegadyn? [He thinks he said that right.] He's taller than I am, and about three times as broad. I think it's kinda interesting to hear about other races, though. Haven't met too many myself.
[He ponders a moment on her question, then scrunches one side of his face.]
Mm, mostly? [He scratches his head.] It's a little hard to explain, but where I come from, some people can travel to other worlds. I happen to be one of those people. So... everybody where I grew up was human, for the most part, but... Oh. [There was that one guy.] Except the ice cream vendor. He's a... duck. [Like Donald, for that matter; they must have come from the same place, along with Goofy and the King, and probably that lunkhead Pete too.] So there's a race of folks who look like animals, but walk upright and talk like people do. Not sure if the race has a name though.
Oh, there's moogles, too. I'm honestly not sure which world they came from, but they're kinda everywhere.
no subject
You've got it right. [ a grin. ] Reasonably so, anyroad. I've noticed there are an overabundance of Hyur here. Not sure how you all can live with that. Variety is the spice you salt your popotoes with, isn't it? [ turns of phrases get murdered across universes. ]
Duck? [ she turns her gaze upwards, and stiffens when she hears the growl of a zombie before they slink off. oh, good. doesn't seem like they got spotted--and she can hear yells of fighting. ] I've not heard of 'duck', that must be a fiend from your world only. Perhaps you should give him a query when you meet him.
--moogles? [ she turns her head towards him. ] Moogles, the little white creatures with red bauble-antenna? They deliver our letters in my world!
no subject
[Her turn of phrase is rather interesting, though. He recognizes the idiom in concept, but...] Popotoes? Are those like... potatoes? [Because that's the important question.
[Lea tenses a bit at the growling sound, but it seems they're still in the clear for now. Good; the fewer undead he has to fight the better. This is too much like work. He chortles a bit at the idea of Donald being a 'fiend', though.]
Not sure I'd call him a fiend, but he definitely has some anger management issues to work out.
[He nods then.] Oh, you got moogles, too? Heh, maybe it's a small universe after all.
no subject
Po... tatoes? I've never heard of such a thing. [ she gestures with her fingers, then, tracing the air ] They're oblong vegetables, fluffy when mashed and white with a brown skin.
[ she hums; ] How strange. I've heard of chocobos appearing in another world, as well. Perhaps our worlds are not so different, as you say.
