This don't look like Mar Sara [Open]

Date and Time: The 18th after 5pm
Location: Area around the housing units
Characters: Jim Raynor and anyone who notices him
Summary: Jim has just arrived and needs a place to remove his marine armor and a drink. The second probably more than the first.
Warnings: Someone needs a drink.

By the time Jim was briefed on what was going on he was irritated. Pulled right before storming Mengsk's damn ship for this was frustrating. Sure it was for a good cause but the timing sucked. After all of that he needed a drink, damn shame it didn't look like there was a bar around.

There was an apartment building he had a room saved for him, and probably going right there and taking off the damn tactical marine armor would have been a good move, but this was Egon's territory and he wasn't there to be harmless and overwhelmed and use small words Jim could understand.

"Damn, Earth of all places and I can't find a decent place to get drunk."

"A whole new planet filled with humanity's outcasts..." He trailed off, looking away and considering that. It was a pretty terrible thought, that there were more planets with humans infesting them, but the possibility that he would have to move from one to another was somewhat enticing. Though they obviously had lost out on Christianity somewhere between Earth and 'Mar Sara,' given the man's total shrug at him being an angel.

"I'm not a zerg. I don't think, at least. What, exactly, is a zerg? And I do have a decent appreciation for whiskey or bourbon."

"What, like snow leopards or snakes?" Lucifer asked, quirking his head to the side. 'death with fangs,' was a pretty broad description - he had a strong hunch these zerg were relatively commonplace where this one measly human came from.

At that, Lucifer gave an annoyed sigh. "So zerg look like snow leopards and snakes? Or both? Do you even know what a snow leopard or a snake is? One has legs, and one doesn't. So if it somehow manages to look like that, then I'm really curious. No one knows what a Zerg is, and they'll probably ask - so give me the long version."

What a pointless waste of air this one was turning out to be. So much potential for interesting stories, but nothing.

"Oh, well, that's interesting," he answered. It made a little more sense now, despite that the man still had obviously no desire to explain himself in any great detail. But of this Zerg could eat planets - he had a hunch it was a little more interesting than he'd originally thought. Some kind of infesting mold or spore, then. A parasite?

Still sounded effective. He made a side note about it. "So, how can you tell if you've got a Zerg problem? I mean, we do have snakes and leopards here, and they do look a little strange, but really none of them have tried to attack me just yet."

What an effective sounding strategy. He'd never considered a spore before now, or some kind of infestation plague, which is what it sounded like. His previous batches were only human-to-human contact. But it was important to keep his options open. He nodded.

"Sounds effective," he said, offering a part of a shrug. "Well, I don't think there's any Zerg here. We did have an undead plague a bit ago, but it's mostly been stomped out. But no one is growing claws and fangs everywhere, and I don't think we've got any kind of hive mind-type entities running around. You're probably safe from them here."

"Not that I know of, although according to the initiative, none of the people that would go would probably ever return. You know how those dictatorships can be -you don't agree with them, and you get shot. Pretty simple, really."

He shrugged. "You could try, but you'd probably get killed. Also, I don't know who's got a boat."

That caused a chuckle. "Well, as long as you don't mind dying for your own case," he replied, offering a shrug. There was a pause as he considered. "Well, you could get an odd-job if you wanted to do something less boring, or you could try to infiltrate the Initiative, but the suit might give you away."

"Probably a good idea."

He shrugged once more, then looked off to the distance. The man was a wealth of information - he just didn't know it yet.

"Well, thanks for all the information about your world. I'm sure if you have any other questions, you can look through the device and post on it. People usually help." He tilted his head and smiled. "Have a good day."

Oddly, if Jim turns to wish him a good day, he's just gone.
