This don't look like Mar Sara [Open]
Date and Time: The 18th after 5pm
Location: Area around the housing units
Characters: Jim Raynor and anyone who notices him
Summary: Jim has just arrived and needs a place to remove his marine armor and a drink. The second probably more than the first.
Warnings: Someone needs a drink.
By the time Jim was briefed on what was going on he was irritated. Pulled right before storming Mengsk's damn ship for this was frustrating. Sure it was for a good cause but the timing sucked. After all of that he needed a drink, damn shame it didn't look like there was a bar around.
There was an apartment building he had a room saved for him, and probably going right there and taking off the damn tactical marine armor would have been a good move, but this was Egon's territory and he wasn't there to be harmless and overwhelmed and use small words Jim could understand.
"Damn, Earth of all places and I can't find a decent place to get drunk."

time to crash this intro log
Did that helmet just speak to him? Maiev made it a habit of sitting completely still when she had little else to do and this place hardly had enough going on to occupy her. Not much for the housing units, she had only returned to gather supplies to venture back out into the wild.
When she encountered a person in strange armor however? Well, that took precedent over anything else.
"It would not be a challenge to find a drink in this place if that is what you seek."

"Yeah, jewel of the galaxy or some nonsense like that. Few years back they went pokin around my part of space and royally screwed things up."
Letting out a sigh he shakes his head a bit.
"Whiskey, something. Was right about to nail that monster before I ended up sucked here, so I'd be right obliged to you if you could show me a place to knock a few back and come up with a plan."
sorry bro, lack of motivation killed me for a while there
While she did sneer with an air of age to her (being thousands of years old makes it come naturally), no hostility could be found in her voice. Aliens? It happened to Azeroth supposedly. She would never understand the desire to fly through the sky in strange ships, nor to explore any worlds that weren't her own.
"And just what is in your part of space that is worth fouling up in the eyes of humanity?"
No worries, truth be told my motivation has been in the crapper as of late
He shrugs a bit and lets out a breath.
"Its just another rebellion against a giant evil dictatorship or something here, right? Not like I haven't been livin that the past few years back home."
stupid december slump
Didn't he pay any attention to the briefing? Instead of ridiculing him, Maiev found herself willing to explain. Maybe getting lost in the wilderness was making her soft...
"Yes and those very same fiends are invading our homes as we speak."

She didn't say anything, but remailed quietly watching as the large suit of armour spoke.

"At least this place ain't like I was afraid Earth'd be."

"I've never seen a knight wear such heavy armour before," she murmured with a glance in his direction.
no subject
"Never been called a knight before, so that may have somethin' ta do with it."

Because Priad totally is one. And he rumbles as he walks up tot he man in unfamiliar war plate.
"Are you a Space Wolf?"

He walks up to Jim, and realizes.... well, isn't he a little small for a space marine?

This one didn't appear to be build the same as the last one, though. So, he stuck his hands in his pockets and meandered over that way, tilting his head to the side and studying the various lewd drawings that decorated the thing.
"Well, when you consider the scale of things, Earth hasn't been a good place to get drunk for most of the time," he offered."
no subject
"Wouldn't know, its my first time here, but given the Earthers I've met can't argue. Seemed too up tight to really cut loose and have a good time with a drink. But I'll be damned if I can't try to find a place."
no subject
"I agree, humans do need to learn not to take themselves so seriously. They'd probably spend less time murdering each other if that was the case." Of course, it was a bit too late to factor into his plans, but that was another story. "This might be rude, but - humans not from Earth?" He asked, quirking an eyebrow curiously. "I've never heard of that before. What planet are you from, then?"

If it wasn't the Jim's armor then it was his mention of alcohol that pinged her interest.
"There's a list." In her time, Samus found other individuals clad in hulking suits of armor were a bit of a rarity and subsequently stuck out like big, shiny, metal thumbs here. She knew this personally with her bright orange armor with a bright green visor that masked her face and muffled her voice to questionable androgyny... never mind the cannon replacing her left arm.
"Somewhere on the network in the tablet, there's a list of taverns."
Not necessarily a good list in her opinion, but a list none-the-less.
no subject
"Ah great a list. None of the best places are on a list. Oh sure I'm sure the listed places don't water down the hooch and play fancy music but gettin drunk. You do that in a place that half the place is ready to get into a good natured tussel just to keep from gettin bored."
no subject
"That's why you don't get involved and keep a running bet on the winner of said tussels." Then again sometimes a bar fight could be fun. But most of the time it wasn't. Especially not in space and when half the patrons weren't even human.
She slowly started to circle Jim, inspecting his armor, his emblem, and the scuffs and marks on it. It was very obvious she found it interesting.
"If I bet on you would I be disappointed?"
no subject
"Won my share, lost my share too. Usually depends on if I can stand up or took a bullet recently. Won the last one though. Wonder if he ever fixed my damn jukebox. Prolly doesn't matter here."

Later in their room HI
So far he had been alone, and slowly getting used to accommodations made for big people. But what was more important, by all accounts, was it was inside. Sam couldn't really remember the last time he had been inside.
So when Jim finally returned he would find a hobbit at the table eating a meal he had prepared after working out how to use this odd foreign cooking equipment he had found.
no subject
"Eh? Someone cookin in here?"
no subject
He spotted the figure and his heart nearly jumped into his throat, but then the mask was removed and under it was a man. Sam watched him suspiciously until he spoke, and then stepped forward so he could be seen, since he was not one to sneak and spy on strangers and he knew that these rooms were to be shared.
"Just a bit of dinner, you are welcome to share it if you wish."
no subject
"Ah... No thanks, don't reckon you were expectin anyone and not my place to take a man's dinner. You live here?"
