MISSION: GET TO ZE CHOPPA
Date & Time: August 23rd, 2753 (OOCly forward-dated to the 1st)
Location: Uruguay National Defense HQ
Characters: All transports!
Summary: All transports are sent back to Uruguay to download a self-aware AI before it gets bombed out of existence by an early incarnation of the UE. Time distortion effects will be set right either on the way there or on the way back, according to player choice.
Warnings: violence, action movie tension, 3 terabytes of foot fetish porn.
The Transporter drops the entire transport population into what will quickly be established as Home Base, a mile from the vast, sprawling facility that is Uruguay's National Defense HQ. The low roar of helidrones moving above is pervasive, but the black ships can only be glimpsed here and there through the thick cover of trees overhead. If you keep calm and quiet, it's likely you won't be spotted. It's the UND HQ their attention is on, after all.
The population is quickly sorted by attending Initiate employees according to who volunteers to fight and who volunteers to protect, along with those with enough skill to access the computers, and those with enough skill to get them there. The fighters move out first, off to intercept the early UE's ships and ground troops, and to draw the automated defense systems of the facility alike. They'll be in a crossfire, and neither side will be happy to see them there.
The techies and their escorts are sent out far more quietly, in groups of three. Their task is to sneak past the front lines and into the facility itself. There might be alarms and automated defense drones, so those escorts may well be called on to earn their keep. The Initiative can't give any information about which building will house the AI's mainframe, that information was long since lost to history. All they can do is send out enough people to hope that one of them manages to find it.
And remember — as soon as the UE troops withdraw, there will only be minutes until the bomb drops. Everyone would do well to work fast.
[[ Mission information is here, and the techie/escort teams, along with their hacking results, are here. Each techie/escort group will have their own established thread, but Team Distraction and Team We'll Stay Here, Thanks are welcome to thread where ever and however they like! The newbie log that goes up on the 1st will also encompass the arrival back in Exsilium, if you'd like to play that out as well. ]]

/slides in~
[M'gann glances at Blue curiously.]
If you explain what you mean by "scramble", I believe I can help with that.
iyaaan~
It feels like Christmas all over again.]
If you two would be so kind as to deal with those, I can take care of the guards and make some headway on getting into the compound. If the lock on that door is linked to the internal security systems I can see about hacking them from outside and making our lives considerably easier once we gain access to the main building.
snaps latex glove
he's not used to being so in the dark, not in the lead.
but he nods, looking to M'gann.]
If we cannot outright destroy them with our own power, we can at least make effort to cripple them. Disrupt their technical processes. [Scramble, in a word, came the thought, along with just a twitch of a smile.]
now spread em
When they hear her voice next, it's through a telepathic link. Easier than speaking aloud at this point.]
{Leave those to me. If you two are able to distract the guards and anything else that may come, I can hopefully get an idea of what we'll deal with inside.}
I hope your hands are warm
It's a fascinating skill-set this one has, and he suddenly feels that the reiatsu shielding cloak he's sporting for this mission is desperately inadequate. Oh well, back to the lab to try and improve on his ideas for stealth camouflage when this job's been put to bed.
He nods at M'gann's suggestion and tests out the link for the first time.]
{Roger. Blue-san, would you prefer the one on the left or the right?}
well thNO I HAVE HIT THE THRESHOLD WITH THIS SUBJECT LINE ADENTURE
[for his own part, he remains rooted, steeling himself, drawing a long breath as he turns his attention forward, toward the guards a distance away.
psionic dream was more an artform with this comrades, those who worked together in unison to protect each other, but Blue is certain he won't need to get elaborate with these sort. sharp minds, yes, but untrained for an enemy of his like.
he began to glow, faintly, as he focuses on bending the perception of those guards, clouding their senses from any approaching danger, keeping the horizon bare and the air dulled of the sounds of the fray.
ready for closer contact, when Urahara draws near.]
pshaw
She now moves from her crouching position to head to the next one.]
{One down.} [Flying overhead, she scans the area for potential problems. An aerial view is always good in this sort of situation. Movement catches her eye, and a mental image of overhead as well as a warning are sent next.]
{There's a drone coming from the northwest, rounding the corner in roughly thirty seconds. If one of you can meet it before it arrives, that would be ideal.}
But we didn't even get to anyone's threshold yet :(
[He vanishes in a split second, blinking into shun-po and appearing behind the drone with enough time to slam something against its back before it even registers his presence. There's a fizzling sound and bright sparks of visible electricity that ends with a distinct 'pop' before it crumples like a pack of cards and he flickers back to where he came from.]
{My apologies Blue-san, I hope I've not shortchanged you an opponent. I thought it was best to get a move on.}
it's ok we can just have ice cream or someth
{You thought right.} [he lands before the pair of them, turning his attention to just one.]
{But I will still need your help with one.} [the one stirring, snapping quickly out of it while Blue bares down on the other, sifting through memories for a better look at the path they'd need to take within, the things they'd need to clear.
he can see the other raising and tilting his weapon out of the corner of his eye.]
as long as you pay
{Should I leave you the honor, Urahara?} [It's obvious she means knocking him unconscious, though whoever decides to do so had better be quick before he can call for help.]
this is a good plan I like this plan, can I have gelato please
Kisuke quickly salutes by touching the brim of his hat and leaves the hapless guard no extra time to ponder what this could mean for him as he smartly knocks the man out with a sharp jab to the temple with the end of his cane.]
{Alright then, let's get down to business shall we? If you two would be so good as to take care of further distractions.}
[He heads over to the door release panel, pulls out a small device from his sleeve which flashes up a small holographic screen which he connects to the panel, and immediately sets to work on trying to get it unlocked.]
i am not paying extra for sprinkles :|
he exhales, drawing his attention back to the team, catching enough of Urahara's request to do as asked, glancing toward M'gann.]
{The drones. Are there more coming near that you can sense?}
insert milkshake joke here
Urahara, give me a moment to go inside and see what's around.}
[Without leaving either of them much option in the matter, M'gann approaches the door and shifts through it without missing a beat. Once inside, she sends the two a mental image of her surroundings: another door, she ghosts through that one, followed by a long hallway with a handful of room and adjoining hallways.]
{If you're able to get a map off the panel, it'd be a good idea.}
and I'm like it's better than yours (ack sorry, busy weekend and work week!)
[The panel beeps, and Urahara remains still except for his fingers dancing over the keypad on his portable device. About ten seconds later the door slides open and a green light on his device illumiates. Satisfied, he smirks to himself and disconnects his device.]
{Done and done. We need to head to the basement.}
ain't no thang we're in a time travel game iT'S LIKE NO TIME PASSED AT ALL
good.]
{There is a shaft close-by.} [his head turns in the direction the guard's memory places it.] {Stairs further along the way.}
[he'll not make the choice for them; he's here to support and protect.]
badumtish
{I'll take the shaft, Blue, Urahara, take the stairs. I'll keep the link up, so let me know if you need help. We'll meet as soon as we're able. Objections?}
